  • Take a ride with me for the day! Finally got a rain day and I am going to get caught up on some service calls. Got a 9570R with low air flow out the cab vents, an 8320R that is getting hot with fan speed codes, and a 9530T that has an a/c compressor locked up. Then I go back to the shop to show you guys some carnage that has happened this fall and i'll show you guys the new Milwaukee Gen 3 high torque impact and the new Milwaukee 1 inch drive extended anvil impact.

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Most interesting was the carnage. Oh my goodness.
The one that ate the rock really busted the insides up when the broken pieces starting flying. Lots of bent pieces and others parts to replace. Not an easy job that one.
The combine that backed into a grain cart- - oh my goodness. One of my first lessons in the field with the combine was DO NOT BACK UP.
Never back a combine or a grain cart. I sincerely hope the owner himself did this because if a hired hand did it I am sure he is no longer employed.
That will be an expensive lesson.
Thanks for showing us the carnage ZK and Josh.
Absolutely know this time of year you are super busy with service calls and at harvest time everyone wants it fixed NOW. Do understand.
You John Deere folks do great at it. Had a friend that his unload auger shaft broke on a Sunday. His dealer and technician had him fixed and running after a couple hours on a Sunday. That is great service.
Thanks ZK for showing the new Milwaukee guns. It took out that wheel nut without any problems. Great new tools.
Thanks for everything ZK. Been a great video. You take care and be safe.
Thanks. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.

Great video Zeth with lots of variety too. The carnage section was outstanding especially the rock through the rotor on the combine. As for the reversing into the grain cart, well I'm just glad it's not me explaining that one to the boss! Love your new Milwaukee impacts, and oh how I wish we had all these tools when I was a tech 50 years ago. Thanks for the video.

I worked for an AGCO dealership in the mid nineties. Harvest and Planting Season were always the busy times. The equipment was no were near as electronic as they are now. That would get frustrating having to stop farming for a sensor that failed. Thanks for the videos.

  • @user-fv5yo5fi5c

I watch a ton of Ag vids. I was a grain trader on The Chicago Board of Trade for my career. I was really more of a frustrated farmer, but never bought anything big enough to call a real farm. 350 acres was my biggest. I'm retired now. I can't help but notice, John Deere stuff breaks down a lot. I know these machines are work horses and go for long periods during seeding, harvest, and tillage. That said, I'm shocked with today's modern manufacturing practices I see as many break downs on these beautiful Deere machines. If someone could come up with a really tough, long lasting implement or machine that held tough for 10 solid years other than wear parts, they'd be a gazillionaire over night. I don't know your name sir, but you're one heck of a diagnosis genius and repair man. My compliments to your mad skill set. PS, I'm sure other colors have the same down time, it's just that the channels I love most all buy 90% Deere.

Harvest time is busy for the farmers and for those who keep their machinery going. The carnage is interesting. One wonders if fatigue and lack of sleep are factors in the accidents. The rock damage is extensive. Thank you for showing how things are repaired correctly.

Add weather windows along with associated happenings can make for an interesting harvest season. A week of rain at the wrong time can make for a challenging harvest. Or wind damage during the growing season can slow the harvest.

And all the time ur away from ur family can't be easy either. Thanks for showing us the stuff you do. Hope the idiots that damaged the combine with the grain cart got fired. There's absolutely no reason for that, other than they were on their cell phones not paying attention to what they were supposed to be doing. No doubt a good $ 20 - 40,000 damage to a $ 500,000 + machine.😖

Hate to see the repair bill for the combine damaged by the rock. Seems to me operators of the combines aren't very careful in the operation of their equipment. I believe some of it is due to working long hours and being tired. The combine operator that backed into the grain cart is lucky he hit the cart and not a person.

At what stage do you consider combine a write-off? I realize that in many cases it is still cheaper to fix. Would Sloan consider that particular combine as a trade in as is? Thanks.

    • @unmountablebootvolume
      @unmountablebootvolume 7 місяців тому

As far as I know, they only ever really consider a modern combine a write-off if it burned to the ground. Anything else, they will fix. Those things are so expensive that even a massive repair or replacement engine is still WAY cheaper than a new combine.

I can only imagine how much JD charges for that blend door motor. A replacement blend door motor should be under $50. You don't have to replace the actuators either since the gear can easily be replaced for under $10. I usually keep a bag full of those plastic gears in stock because I change so many of them and they were used from 1990-2013. The plastic gears I buy are far superior to the original. I can also buy a bronze gear which will last forever. You can also buy them at most major auto parts stores.
