    In a sport where commentator's often praise athletes' conditioning and endurance, with DP's incredible natural talent and technical ability, I think his durability and stamina is VASTLY underrated. The dude is a terminator out there. World class programming from Phil Daru, as usual.

    It does not surprise me that Dustin loved running despite having the hip issue. I feel like he shares Haggler's rugged mentality of never quitting. Props to you for looking out for his health.

    Took my internship with Phil back in 2018 or 19. Drove all the way from N.C. and stayed the whole month. Phil is such a great coach and a great person. Thanks coach.

    I was working in Zhengzhou at the time when I first saw Phil training Dustin at ATT. The good old days. Must be nostalgic for Phil talking about that time

    Damn, dude. This video is top notch. I never REALLY looked into Phil Daru but always knew who he was because his name got around different podcasts. This is such an interesting breakdown. I hope this video gets the traction it deserves - the channel too! I’d love to see more training camp breakdowns

    My dream job is to coach fighters. I’m an amateur kickboxer/mma fighter and a personal trainer. I also coach kickboxing for everyday civilians. How can someone like me make that dream job come true? I love your content and have been following your workouts for years and I admire your success in the industry.

    Regarding the "recovery methods" my understanding is that no study proves other methods than sleep and nutrition. Hot, cold, massage, stretching, massage gun, etc may reduce soreness, but at the same time they reduce the adaptation. Soreness is part of adaptation. Am I totally lost here?

    • @PhilDaruStrong
      @PhilDaruStrong  Місяць тому +1

      No your not wrong but getting closer to fight time our goal is
      to maintain the strength developed and maximizing recoverability primarily for the skills and technique work.

    I used to workout a similar amount to this but the focus was on triathlons, but I did 1 MMA session a week and I loved the lifestyle. I didn’t have a coach and I did too much and now I’m carrying multiple torn muscles and bad knees, it makes me jealous watching this stuff because i miss training so much, although I still go to the gym and cycle,

    Having a hard time understanding the upper dynamic and lower heavy visa versa.
    What’s an example of upper dynamic and an example of lower dynamic? And are you just working one movement on each?

    I don’t mean for this to sound rude but why did Dustin not continue his camps with you?

    • @PhilDaruStrong
      @PhilDaruStrong  3 місяці тому +6

      You would have to ask him that one but mostly we train in the off camp since most of the skills training takes a toll on his recovery in camp. We still communicate and go over training just not as actively as before.
