Waseem was very clever and made hell of black money through cricket gambling especially during 99 world cup final. He will be remembered as God Father of match fixing for decades. Due to match fixing reasons many people quit watching cricket. All these stories against waseem akram and saleem malik are 100% true.

Who was left to be incriminated by Chandrachud. Jadeja, Nayan Mongia, Manoj Prabhakar, Ajay Sharma and needless to mention Azharuddin, all got the axe.
Two things to be noted during 90's Fixing saga:
1)India took strict actions again Azhar and Ajay Jadeja who were backbone of the 90's Indian cricket team. Banning them made India team weaker for a while but then India introduced younger player like yuvraj,kaif,zaheer. But BCCI made sure that they set an example for upcoming generation by banning corrupt players.
2)Pakistan on the other had supported players like Wasim, Waqar, Mushtaq Ahmad, Saqlain, Saeed Anwar. Players like Rashid latif and Basit ali who helped to expose match fixing saga were not supported by their teammate (which was obvious as that would have exposed them) nor they were supported by PCB. Yea they took action against Salim Malik who was the end of career. PCB should have taken strict action against all the players those were involved but they supported their own corrupt player and failed to set example for upcoming generation.
Recent example like Amir,Asif,Butt,Sharjeel are the proof that players know PCB will support them even if they are caugt in wrong doing and will be given second chance.
Note: WASIM AKRAM was the biggest Match fixer in the history of Pakistan Cricket and now is considered as Legend.
See how you put a quick note at the end just to hammer the point home. For sure, the decisions taken against the Pakistani cricketers were nothing but weak and insufficient. The PCB has historically masked and facilitated match fixing. Whether it was to save Pakistan’s name or for another purpose, it’s quite apparent.
Indian authorities buried the IPL match fixing saga, where the names of so many big players and even politicians came out. They turned Sreesanth into the scapegoat, and covered all the other crooks.

Well the Qayyum commission was set up at the instance of Dawood Ibrahim, the Karachi-based boss of the crime-and-terror syndicate. This is what D Company sources told Indian journalist Shiela Rawal (see her book Godfathers of Crime). This was done after a bunch of Pakistani players fixed a match with a rival syndicate linked to Indian bookie Shobhan Mehta. Interestingly, Javed Miandad and Wasim Akram mentioned receiving a call from Dawood Ibrahim in their testimonies before the commission. The call was apparently received hours ahead of a match in UAE and Dawood apprised them about the intention of some of the players to throw the match. The commission was a shot across the bow. It was never meant to cleanse cricket. FYI there is a 1994 photograph of Dawood with Javed Miandad. They were clicked at the wedding reception of Taufiq Jalianwala’s son in Karachi. There was no way Javed Miandad could not have known about Dawood’s line of business at the time. Moreover, this was a year after the 1993 blasts. Further still, Taufiq Jallianwala was a well-known smuggler-to say nothing of his role in said blasts. Why would a top cricketer want to fraternise with such reprehensible individuals is quite obvious, isn’t it?
Although Wasim Akram is a legend but it is so disappointing to see him apparently involved in all of this...

Due to match fixing, many people stopped watching cricket. Moreover, Pakistan cricket team failed to win all big matches and never came up the expectations of the people.

The same 96 QF match sachin tendulkar was down with viral fever and was doubtful for the match but since it was an important match he played. Though he didnt score much he made 30 odd runs and gave good opening partnership which laid good foundation for total score

Waqar Younis should not be anywhere near Pakistan team as per Justice Qayum report.
There is a separate Special covering mentions of Waqar in the Qayyum Report. There was insufficient evidence to deem him guilty, you can can check out his whole story on the channel.
Justice qayum fined Wasim Akram and few other players Mushtaq, Waqar, Moin, Ijaz, Inzimam, saqlain I guess and Salim Malik was banned for life. Also Wasim Akram was banned from being Pakistan teams captain. Also along with all the players finned he was banned to hold any position in Pakistan Cricket Board. Later all of them took jobs in PCB and other cricket boards even Salim Malik later got cleared in the court in 2008. Mushtaq, Inzi and Saqlain got very religious and Wasim on the other hand being a legend got wings because he knew he became untouchable and no one could prove any thing after he got away from these allegations. Wasim later got away with Atta ur Rehman's allegations too as he pressurized and gave threats to Atta to change his affidavit.
With everyone given a clean slate, Salim Malik seems to be the scapegoat.
Allah will do justice. No one should be left out. Akram is really the culprit. Reference Sharjah match. 4 runs in 19 balls by Akram. Shame.

Perhaps Imran Khan and the great Miadad and later on Aamir Sohail, Aqib Javed ,Rashid Latif and Shoaib Akhtar were the last confirmed honest players of the previous era in Pakistan Cricket.

Akram was the discovery of khan and miandad. Even during the '92 WC where akram was the highest wicket-taker, he was bowling too many no-balls and wides during the group matches which pak lost but khan defended him answering the journalists saying "I don't care how many extras he gives away, all I care is he keeps bowling as fast as possible". In fact, it was khan who taught akram that the ends justify the means. If akram later on took it in the sense of enriching himself, whether through winning as many matches as possible or fixing them to earn double, I wouldn't blame akram but his mentorship.

Agreed, we should focus on the future as this case was settled. Having said that, it’s been years and we haven’t protected the future so the report is still very much relevant in today’s environment.
Only Aqib javid,s allegations carry some weight.. Rashid latif need to be examined again in the court. Inthab Alam,a statment prove nothing. Sleem Malik is 100% guilty because Australians had already accused him but PCB flavoured him. I believe these allegations done not as much damage to Wasim Akram as to Allegations on Chris Cains of Newzeeland by his team mates even he was found not gulity by the court in London. He could have a great future as an expert in commentary or as a coach. He has laid himself off cricket.
Even if you take the accuracy out of these allegations, the sheer number of allegations against him is more alarming than anything. The ban imposed on Salim Malik was damage control at that point. Might even have been a way to sway the attention from others involved in the activity.

Border said Mushtaq Mohammad turned up in Ashes dressing room and offered him money. These are our players. Inzaman took his team off the field against England at Oval which we were easily winning but due to alleged ball tampering we lost. Inzie refused to bring out our team so we lost even though we almost had won. Very suspicious. Pak winning match against Austrlia but Afridi started biting the ball. Sydney Test we needed one wicket but we managed to lose. Players enjoyed sheesha before India match. Easy catches dropped by fielders even in this world cup which I attended. Bangladesh beat W Indies but.Windies thrashed us. We lost to Ireland and Bangladesh in world Cups. I met PCB official at tour match in UK. He and wife enjoying free holiday to UK. He has never played cricket.

Wasim was a fixer... (There are just too many people out there who have given statements that he was a fixer). Shoaib Akhtar has not been grilled under oath so he makes loose statements.
Shoaib comes to India and says everyone was a fixer in the Pakistan team ... He goes to Pakistan and says that Wasim is the most honest captain.
Wasim and Waqar both were brilliant... they were bigger than the game in Pakistan. (That was the problem!)

It’s a tragedy Wasim Akram along with his match fixing buddies from the 90’s are treated as heroes where in fact he has sold out Pakistan on numerous occasions. I really hope Imran Khans government will bring these thieves to justice
The video just outlines the instances mentioned in the report. This is potentially only a fraction of what he actually did. Not sure if that’s viable but Imran should focus on creating new laws to drastically reduce similar deeds going forward.
Doosra View I have read the qayyum report and also other reports. Take the Pak v Ban wc 99 game and look at the highlights, it’s just saw obvious they are throwing the game. I agree this should be prevented going forward but the reason why we are in such a mess and the issue keeps resurfacing is because people like Akram get away with it. What is the conclusion by the content creator? Did Wasim Akram fix matches or not? Anyone can try and get access to Qayum Commission report. That report is as obfuscate as this video.
