Thanks for the amazing review. Really is great to hear the things you've said about being better than your electronic kit, and saying that you're enjoying Aerodrums. Thanks again.
Can you play this drum set outside in a bright sunny day? If I want to play in the street, will the environmental light mess with the emitters and sensors?
@@tkzsfen Generally speaking Aerodrums will not work outdoors in daylight. It will work outdoors if there is not too much light, e.g. in very shaded areas or at night time.
Just got mine, in part because of this review! This product is the real deal, a complete universe away from any of its competitors in sample quality, sensitivity and dynamic control.
how did you get it to work? I'm in a room with all the blinds closed and the thing says it's too light and when I do kinda get it work the hits are no where NEAR accurate. I have never seen more of a dissappointing product. I keep getting "graphics" errors even though I have a beast of a computer.
This is amazing, if the creators of aerodrum see this please make it possible to import your own samples into the software . I’d love to use this live and that would be such an amazing feature to have. Thank you for this great video Lootd
The ps3 camera is actually really good in terms of fps, I used one on my computer and found that the FPS on them is insane for something like it. Its really good for motion tracking because of it so its probably why they used it.
Important question. Without anything to hit how do you do a drum roll? I bounce my sticks off the head to mak a roll. How bout a rim shot? Can you mute a cymbal?
Thanks for the review I recently bought the Aerodrums kit based on this. Unfortunately my user experience was not as good, and I wasted a few hours trying to set it up, but the camera was still out of focus so probably couldn't track well, and hits were mostly mis-hits and I couldn't hit the snare, so definitely had tracking problems. Maybe I just got a bad kit, but there wasn't another to exchange it with, so have sent it back. I'm probably just going to get a ekit but it's not as convenient.
Like does this still stack up in 2022? I was looking into the freedrums 2 but they keep getting postponed. This is pretty old tech but seems still pretty good
Also, how does this work for someone like me: Left-handed but play open-handed. I don't like lefty setups because it's difficult for me to use my left foot and roll to my left. There are many of us. Am I just out of luck?
Please someone help... I just purchased this product and I can't get sound out of it. The software sees my bluetooth speaker but no sound comes out. I verified the volume and it was at 80% from the software, and also my computer but nothing. The speaker works with everything else. I plugged the headset directly into the computer and still nothing. When I was setting up the drum kit I could hear the sound of the different custom selections as I would click on them, so there must be a setting. (I also made sure it wasn't muted).
Sorry for being late. If you hear sound when selecting pieces to compose your kit, but not when playing, then Aerodrums is probably in MIDI only mode (MIDI screen).
They're actually pretty light weight, the balls on the end are made of foam or polistiren (not actually sure) so they don't add much if any weight to the sticks
I would love these cause my room is 5x4 m2 and I dont really have a living room cause that's my parents' room. So I would give these a try but they are kinda expensive
Yes you can. You can also have good dynamics on your custom pieces, by giving samples recorded with different hit speeds. Aerodrums will sort them by increasing speed/power.
hi 2 questions ;) would you recommend learning to drum with this or any kind of air drums? is it possible to jam with drumless UA-cam tracks and air drums? thnx 😊
We recommend it, so do teachers we know. It's a great complement to a practice pad. You can practice timing, limb independence, moving around the drum set. Air drumming also improves your stick control. Here's a user interview we did with a drum teacher: ua-cam.com/video/sladWRk5DxA/v-deo.html
I think he said in the video, but camera tracking is much more accurate than bluetooth and internal motion sensors. The latter senses movement, but (in this price range at least) not very accurately. The camera sees exactly where your foot is, and where the drum sticks are.
hey mate, AWESOME REVIEW! Think this is the best virtual drums by far. For a beginner, is this good? do they include any apps/drum tutorials we can use for this for us to learn drums? thanks!
One of these companies just took people $ and they been waiting for years LOL for their stuoid product . I will purchase these since they are actually out not waiting to be shipped
I'm here trying to do serious research into this product, and you begin your video with an appraisal of the packaging design? If that's your starter I won't be watching he rest.

do you guys ship to Australia?
@@respark2697 Yes, free worldwide shipping is included when you order from our website.
Rather impressive little kit that is. They've done really good job with the camera tracking.
Agreed, never expected the tracking to work so well
they sure didn't

Rock band/clone hero would be sick with these.
I love the way that you said if you think it's rubbish, then you'll just say so. Right on.
Finally, some quality cowbell💜💜💜
Seems like a product where the developers have spent the time making it work rather than making it look flashy, good stuff
i can confirm that in fact no they don't work for shit lol
Drum videos are the best videos on your channel because its hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
2:03 that's actually crazy as hell. They really used a Playstation camera and tried to hide it with a black sticker.
Yes, I think that could cause then some problems in the future. Let's hope not.
It's not crazy. It's finesse

Hello, you can make new drum pieces with your own samples. Here's a video of a customer drumming live ua-cam.com/video/xD80qphbUqE/v-deo.html
I mean, it is MIDI-compatible
I've never wanted a drumkit.

How's it going nowadays?

i'm having the exact same experience.
Is that left hand + double kick setup?
Can the sound go to the headphones only so you only hear the music through your headset only?
Wondering if you miss having an actual surface to hit. Comprehensive review!
How do you play a drum roll. It relies on the reaction of the heads reaction to the stick striking it
All I care about at this point is if it sounds good. And if I can learn drumming and improve with this?
I might have to get something like this once i start travelling
Can you use a tablet? I wanna get these for my boyfriend for Christmas but he doesnt have a laptop 😕
Need to get this! I am a drummer, haha
I was sure to find aerodrums on your channel!
Thank you so much!
Have you ever tried korg clip-hit? It's awesome
Is it possible, I wonder, to install this on an iPad®? That would make it extremely useful for me, since I have an iPad®. Cheers! x
Where was this thing when I was a teen in my bedroom holding two pieces of a cut broom handle?
but where are the otamatone videos???
March 2022 and I say smashing job buddy. Very good
Great video!
Cool! (Now I'm thinking... could that position tracking be used to send other MIDI params)
You can repurpose the note and velocity signals to trigger something else in a decent DAW like Reason Studios.
Hello friend! Will it work without the camera backlight?
Wait... are they allowed to sell the playstation camera like that?
Hahahahah most definitely not
No, hence the sticker trying to cover it up.
You're a pretty good drummer
Pftttt lol. He's shit.

Beautiful. Thankyou
I downloaded the app version is that oh k please please please let me know

Does this do rim hits? Or multi-zone? I would think that'd be hard...
Can I use this in a DAW as a plugin?

It looks as though you can reposition and asign all the drums.
Is this better than pocket drums

@@ryderrs7175 you can easily use your own sticks. There is a pair of spare reflectors included, plus they can be bought seperately.
Can you get double bass pedals instead of hihat pedal?
If they're just midi triggers, you'll be able to reasign the hihat pedal as a second bass drum I should think.
Software name?

Hey
You are left handed right ?
Do I have to play with my heel down or can I play with my heel up?
You can do both, look at tutorials on YT
Can You Move The Kits Around?
Yes you can create custom kits and place each piece where you want it.
Will it work on iOS because there is a app 😓😓
Sorry no, Apple doesn't make it possible for small companies like us to make an iOS driver for the camera we use.

Excellent review sir! Is there any delay when using an external speaker? I would like to use these while someone is playing guitar.
There's is no audio delay if you are using wired speakers (BlueTooth speakers are not designed to play musical instruments, they add too much latency)
Still needs more cowbell.
