Hi Jon, Why i connected my aerodrum plus 2 with Garageband, only the 2 sticks works, the pedals connected successfully but had no sound, please help. Thank you so much.
Longo Chu thanks Longo! I absolutely think this is a good tool for kids who are learning how to drum. It’s fun, engaging, and involves both the physicality of drumming as well as technology (the app, GarageBand, Bluetooth, tech)
Honestly, I don't think this would be all that great for a beginner since rebound is such a necessary factor that is fundamental to technique. Perhaps as a supplemental toy this could be fun, but considering it is $205, I think there are definitely better alternatives to this for a beginner or intermediate drummer with little space or who needs to stay quiet, although they come with tradeoffs, like having to go second hand to meet the same budget.
@@jiudae you're not going to get much quieter, but you can try building a cheap riser platform. It will make it partially quieter by reducing the amount of sound carried through the ground. It is only really worth it if you live in a multi-story house or apartment.
Whoa, 200 dollars??? Yeah, if you're a beginner, there are tons of e-drum kits that are only like 50 bucks more and completely fine for practice. Not sure how well a total beginner would be able to learn using these anyway because of stuff like you said. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too useful for learning foot techniques either, like doing double kicks with one foot. (I hope I'm using the right terminology.)
Yes you can. You’ll find the right way to make it feel as close to what’s natural to you. It will also help to sit on a higher chair rather than a low couch like I was.

@@JonFosterDrummer Thank you so much for the answer. I'm just worried about the app. From what I saw that's the weakest link of this product. Did they update the app? Is it better? Any alternatives?
Syafiqah Nabila Mokhtar good question. When I was trying it out it seemed to trigger only hi hat, snare and kick in GarageBand. Try emailing them through their website. They’ll likely have more answers!
I have been considering buying this as a quiet way to play (I have a electric and acoustic kit) but it seems like it won't work very well for anyone past a beginner where you have to be more precise.
I would say don't bother. I bought these and they did not work very well for me at all. There was continuous angle drift and lag in terms of the sound production. There was some latency when I was using GarageBand on an iPad. The company has not responded to my emails requesting to send it back for a refund. So the only thing I can do now is to warn other people about this shoddy product. It did not work for me at all like the video describes.
My concerns and curiosities as well, maybe things have changed since a year ago when this was created but I just saw them for the first time right now October 2022 so maybe that has been addressed? I was considering buying them but yes angle drift and ghost hits, etc. all right concern. For as small and able to stash away these are amazing! Going to read some more review about lag or any “cons” but I wanted a simple electronic kit and even that would’ve taken up too much space that I don’t have. These will be perfect for me! I’ve been looking and until now haven’t found anything that fit the bill for my space and I’m a Max guy so the garage band is a bonus. What about recording into other apps like say, Audacity, Final Cut Pro etc? Anyone know? TIA!
Can everyone hear you play or do you just hear yourself through the headphones only. Also can you only play by hitting just nothing (fresh air) or can you strike something solid like a pillow or a cushion to help you keep time.
You can definitely make it so you only hear yourself through headphones. Or you can play the sound through your phones speaker. You can also set up pillows if you want, just place them in front of you so you can calibrate to them
Didn't the aerodrums before this have accent velocity and ability to custom create where the drums are? Could you do this and still have it set up in garageband, or do you follow garageband kit layouts only? You know, where you view the actual kit, not buttons like an MPD pad..
My idea was to use this home with pillows (so I get hit resistance) to make sound, but it is a shame you cannot calibrate where each element is located.
