I love the look of copper, but I'm not a fan of tarnishing. I would guess that the finish is a powder coating. That used to be a popular alternative to chrome plating for drum hardware back in the 90s, before being mostly supplanted by black chrome or black nickel. The Tama sounds a little boxy in the video, so I have to give the nod to the Ludwig.

I love the look of the copper rims on the Ludwig, but I wonder if they would chip over time from rimshots and cross sticking.
I have about 10 hours of playing time on this snare. So far, so good, and I am a big rimshot guy.
