A quei tempi erano soddisfazioni 😊
i don't think people understand how good these guys were by this point. sure it was only billy and ian but fuck man it was heavy and dark like john garcia singing for danzig or something. love the cult !
Awesome version of American horse. They butchered my two favorite songs if and white. No matter it was great to hear them live.👏👏👏👍👍👏👏👏thanks for uploading bravo 😁👊
Remember seeing the Cult on the Ceremony tour at the the Edinburgh Playhouse and they were brilliant . Ian and Billy were on top form with Micheal Lee on drums and I believe Kinley Wolfe on bass . I'm from Newcastle upon Tyne and we drove up to Edinburgh and back again when the concert finished .
Ceremony just came out at the wrong time. It got left behind in a year that saw metallica, Nirvana and others publish enormous hit albums. The band should have stopped after sonic temple and taken a break. By this time they were exhausted and it shows. they sound tired here. A year later they would tour opening for metallica and it all desintegrated from there. The cult is quite an enigma to me. They have all the elements to be way bigger than they are but somehow Astburys continuous emphasis on writing metaphisical indian and nativist lyrics makes it hard for mainstream to truly embrace or understand The Cult. While The cult delivers everything you'd expect, it seems a link is missing. I wish they would have done one more record with rubin. I love the minimalistic approach of electric.
Excellent points, all. I absolutely LOVED The Cult and even thought Astbury was much cooler than Jim Morrison. I HATED Electric when it came out because I liked their Love sound best, but later understood the "strategy" of their moving toward a more commercial sound. I think they peaked with Sonic Temple. I agree, they sounded tired and should have taken a year off.
@@sulatlalaki i love Eletric.I like It more than Love. Maybe 'cause it remembers me my best years.I don't know. And i like Ian's lyrics. Maybe 'cause i love natives. Ian talk about anything that others don't. Not about visions as Jim Morrison! But i still cannot understand if they were rock or goth! In Love period they dressed goth and had make up too....but music sounded similar rock... Who can answer to me? Please.
I agree. Ian sounds like he’s trying hard to pace himself. Fatigue definitely takes it’s toll on the voice. Still a powerhouse singer. And he speaks Italian! Billy definitely looks like he needs a break, though his playing is strong throughout.
I don't think anyone would go wrong buying any of the The Cult's albums. But yeah some rock harder than others. If a person were to only buy one though, I recommend High Octane.
Brings back some good time memories. What a live performance saw them more times than I can remember from small club to arena and even when Ian's voice was trashed from touring they Tore it the Hell up. Masters No words do Justice. thank you
very rare and unique vid thank you for the upload !! I love the Ceremony album it was my totem cd, I was into the native american ethos at the time, playing music and going on camping often.. I never got to see the Ceremony tour so this is big deal for me thank you..and long live the Cult !!

This album was not promoted properly and the best song didn't even make on the album. RED JESUS is what this album is all about and that heavy laid back drive by Micheal Lee (R.I.P.) really gives this era it's groove and feel. I love that it's only Billy and not with a second guitarist, it really makes him shine when he was on the top of his game.
love this version of If, such an incredible Cult deep cut! Ceremony kicks *** start to finish, if this show had Full Tilt & Heart of Soul it would be perfect
The Cult always found great rhythm session musicians. Michael Lee and let us not forget Matt Sorum and later great bassists. I saw The Cult in 1992 and their bassist was ex-Sisters of Mercy Craig Adams. The Cult went off . . .
Seen them 5 times since the 80s, soon to be 6, and listened to and watched many more recorded shows: This has to be the flattest gig I've ever seen them play! But this also when the booze and substance use and burnout was really starting to hit 'em.
I must say i like the slower motion of their songs well, the doorish shines more through. At this era they were very adorable. Ceremony was cult, but it wasn't commercial - that's ok for me
Angelittle 😈 in EACH of US is the divine energy to DO great MIRACLES balancing the good & badly necessary for bed now so sorry for hot water system shutdown. Love you darling 💕😘
7:37... bracelet/sleeve gets caught on mic cord.. I seen this happen a million times with Ian astbury who it just happens to be the best frontman of all time
Seriously? He's awful. The groove is terrible. No drive. It's just a thud-thud-thud with no smoothness. The Cult's worst drummer by far. Lee had no nuance or groove. Of course, Lee went on to make a mess of Page and Plant, too. And that laughable marching drum snare. Ugh.
The music on Ceremony has the same feel as a LOT of the grunge bands' best work, if someone were to ask me. As everything else with the Cult, band and albums and music all together, it would always be underrated and float just under the surface of the early '90s headliners like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots. Which is a shame, because this is absolutely my favorite album.
Bootleg you say...you sure 'bout that bro? That's a pretty high quality bootleg if it is. The Cult were so on FIRE in that year of 1991. I believe their gig at London's Marquee Club on November 27 '91 and and the subsequent album is their BEST live work eva. I also agree with the comment from Twister BT that the first song here 'Ceremony' is awesome as is the album Ceremony that had only just been released on 23 September 1991. So it was all brand spanking new stuff from Ian Astbury and his crew of merry men from Sherwood forest. Anyways here's the setlist for this awesome vid: 1. Ceremony 2. Lil' Devil 3. New York City 4. Sun King 5. Rain 6. American Horse 7. Edie [Ciao Baby] 8. If 9. White 10. She Sells Sanctuary 11. Wild Hearted Son 12. Earth Mofo
THE BASS PLAYER HERE TOO, IS SOMEONE VERY SPECIAL IN HIS OWN RIGHT AND PROBABLY THE BEST ROCK BASSIST EVER. KINLEY "BARNEY" WOLFE. CHECK THIS GUY OUT ON OTHER VIDEOS DOING HIS OWN THING.
This is the same concert that I had on a bootleg CD years ago. At first I wasn't sure if it was the same but when I saw and heard the mic drop during Lil Devil, I then knew for sure that it's the same one, and the rest of the show confirms it. You may ask why did I ever sell the CD? That's a good question. I can't remember if I had bought the disc before or after when CD recorders first became available, but it was around that time when they were still EXTREMELY expensive, home stereo component style or computer drive. The bootleg itself was a factory pressed CD, and not a CD-R, from a Italian "label" named Red Line or something like that. Basically I was not really too thrilled with how it sounded and I felt that I probably wouldn't miss it if I sold it. I do kind of regret selling it though and wish I had kept it. It was just one in a stack of CDs that I sold because I didn't really listen to them much.

Bummer they didn't have the whole concert footage. Wild hearted Son live would be Good to See.
I swear Ian is like a reincarnated Jim Morrison with his looks and moves. Pure rock n roll. Love the Cult.
Better than him ❤
That's not by accident on his part and he was asked to tour with The Doors for a while, likely for same reason
He played with The Doors in the early 2000..when Ray Manzarek was still around!! Amazing ❤
He did tour as the singer for the doors of the 21st century.
How could you say something like that? That's just asinine.
THE CULT THE BEST
Thank you for sharing!! Waiting for The Cult in Milan ❤
It will be worth it. Ian is still like a young god. His voice is still briljant. Have fun Angela.🤘😊😎
