I don’t think people realize how difficult it can be to make a really good how-to video. You made sure we could see everything you did without your hands and fingers in the way, the lighting was on point, the pacing was perfect, etc. What a pro! ❤
Best overview of this gimbal. I watched about 10 videos, no one else shows the proper way to set up portrait mode.. plus the detailed instructions on everything else. Thank you !!
This is the best tutorial for this gimbal! I purchased one (can't remember which one!) last year and it was so complicated to set up! I returned it and gave up on a gimbal. Until yesterday. I ordered one and found your tutorial. I'm all set and now ready to practice! Thanks so much! I'm sure I will watch this over and over again!
@@Jason_Hermann I'm trying to connect my Canon m50 mark 2 Bluetooth connection to this gimbal. I have searched for instructions online but no luck finding help! Can you tell me how to connect this gimbal to my m50 via Bluetooth? T
This still looks way too time-consuming and complicated to me. I heard this gimbal was easier to calibrate but it looks just as tedious and confusing as the others. I'm still waiting for the day when someone creates a gimbal that can electronically calibrate itself based on the camera's weight... which will probably never happen. Thanks for this video, though, I would have bought and gimbal and then had to return it, lol! 😅
I did the same! As a new first time gimbal owner I didn't get a complicated one (or so I thought) but I couldn't get it to balance after 3 tries of about 15 minutes each, after watching YT videos. Jason is the man to explain things - he has perfect detail! Maybe I need to get this one and give it another try!
Jason, your clear instructions were a game-changer. I initially struggled to balance correctly and was even suspected of having a faulty gimbal. However, everything fell into place after calibrating the gimbal according to your video. Thank you!
Probably the best tutorial for gimbal set up. Thanks a lot..i bought the cinepeer weebill too but was concerned how to set up with my zv-e10 using Bluetooth and this is what I needed
Thanks, Jason, for posting this. I just received this Gimbal to use with my Nikon camera. The only other Gimbal I have experience with is the one used with my GoPro Action camera, which is very simple compared to this. I'll need to fabricate a holder to use this in the passenger's seat when on the track and want to make a video.
Very useful tutorial: I am about to buy this gimbal and I needed this kind of tutorial to see the process of balancing and working with it. I have now the Canon R6 that doesn't fit my current gimbals (more a question of front heavy lenses and no room to pull back the camera on the gimbal) and this one seems perfect for this camera. At first I was afraid when you set the camera to the right (it being a small camera) but then I see that the balancing is done moving the camera away from the motor, so a bigger camera will still have room for balancing. 20:20 .... the Fallow mode used to be the Follow mode, but now people will use the Fallow mode.
Will the 3e work with a camera that will be close to the max payload but still slightly under it or does it only work with cameras that are closer to half the payload?
I would not go over 3/4 payload if you want the absolute best performance. It will work, but larger movements may cause issues if near max in my opinion.
@@Jason_Hermann Could you possibly do a video with a maxed payload camera setup (even adding whatever you can to get it to the absolute limit) vs. 3/4 the max to see what the actual real world differences would be?
What’s the screw size please. I am worried if I lose the screw by accident. Thank you. Best video ever. My first time using and I just bought a calf visence 180vr camera 😊
Do you have experience, using the gimbal with extra accessories on the camera like camera cage (smallrig), a microphone (JOBY or Rode) and especially an external monitor or iPhone as monitor on top . I am using a Sony ZV-E10 with camera cage + JOBY Mic + Accsoon SeeMo 4k with iPhone. The hole setup weighs about 2.2. up to 2.4 kg, but is "very high". Looking for your answer. Greetings from Germany.
Yeah, that is not going to work very good if I had to guess. I would try and get the monitor mounted to the gimbal handle itself some other way. Some gimbals come with extra mount points where you can put a smallrig arm to hold the monitor for example and other things. You also might be better off removing the cage to save the weight unless you absolutely need it.
This is so helpful. Thank you! This was my first gimbal, and I felt like an idiot not being able to set it up. The illustrations in the included manual were worthless to me.
Hi! please help me with something..i hace a Falcam cage...with a f38 quick release system...is there a way to use another baseplate beside the manfrotto that comes with the gimbal? like an arca swiss QR? thanks a lot!
You can put the quick release above the plate, instead of using it with the camera. I used to do it with the weebil s. I’m pretty sure ulanzi sells even the plate with the quick release, but if you already have it you can use the one that you have.
It sounds like you loosened it to much and it came apart which is not good.. You are going to need to fix that or send it back for repair. If you have all the parts, perhaps ask a friend that is good with that stuff to try and put it back together? A mechanic could prolly figure it out if you have all the parts for example.
Hi Jason, I just bought mh Zhiyun Cinepeer 3E and I watched your tutorial as well. I set it my camera and every time I turn on my gimbal it says Axis Lock. this is the third video i've watched and I still can't get my camera to stay in position after adjusting the tilt or the rotation. Just using a Lumix S5 and kit lens 20-60mm. Been trying all night and it just wont play ball. Could it be faulty?
@@Jason_Hermann Thanks, I managed to get it set OK, the gimbal modes seem to work OK, although it still wont maintain it's position if i manually tilt or rotate it, it just falls back into a normal level position (powered on or off)
@@KevinMullarkey It should not fall back into position when powered on? That does not sound right to me at all.... Only the first tilt axis should stay at all angles based on my experience. The roll is a bit harder, so you may need to slide the camera left a bit possible.
@@Jason_Hermann OK, managed to get it balanced correctly with a bit of perseverance and micro adjustments. Must also remember to remove the lens cap before balancing as even this slight extra weight throws it out!

Maybe use a washer so that lens isn't touching mount when you focus?
A washer would create a tiny gap between metal mount and lens.
