mentioning Kagurabachi, kill blue, and especially plantsister man before MamaYuyu is BANANAS. i dont wanna be a hater at all, i normally don’t even comment on youtube vids. but to me personally wild strawberry is like the third least interesting manga in jump rn (2nd is nue exorcist 1st is shojo null.) MamaYuyu is using a simple premise to do such interesting things, the character growth in just a couple of chapters has been magnificent and holy fuck the paneling is so good, if we wanna talk about chainsawman influence that's where the excellent paneling like fujimoto is instead of just the copy and pasting of the premise like wild strawberry. again not trying to be a hater at all if you like it im glad the author has an audience and the story is reaching people, i just expected MamaYuyu to get some well deserved attention in the same way.
Fun idea! I've read a bunch of these as well. Mujina into the Deep is pretty mid so far yeah, in addition to the boomer monologues I also think the flow of action is kinda poorly done too. Panels often feel pretty disconnected from one another amidst fights. Renai Daikou is a disappointment as well imo, the earlier chapters of Kaguya were hilarious and the best part of the series, whereas the jokes in here are just really tame and mostly not funny. I don't find Yandere terribly interesting agreed, Firefly Wedding is ok from what I read but didn't really grab me. Honestly I find the other Yandere manga made this year, My Girlfriend Gives Me Goosebumps!, a bit more interesting as there's more of a psychological element to it, even if the art is significantly worse. Dogsred is really boring so far, honestly. There's been a few funny moments and that's pretty much all I can say in praise of it. Hate to say it, but there's probably a reason why his first hockey manga got axed 🤐 Yeah that new one from Domestic Girlfriend's mangaka is pretty boring, I read it earlier and completely forgot I read those chapters until I watched this video lol That streaming isekai harem one is one of the laziest, trashiest manga I've read ever lmfaoooooo. I thought it would be at least a little fun or different from the premise since his power is streaming, but it's just generic as fuck. enough time has passed to realize Kagurabachi is mid Kill Blue is even worse though imo, it was fun at the start but I think it's just annoying now. JM is the better assassin turned kid manga from this year imo, and it's by the author of Hinamatsuri. I'm enjoying Beat & Motion honestly, it's not amazing but I think it's above average and a fun read. Sachi's Book of Revelations is a fun little comedy, Sachi is a hilarious gremlin and the absurdist artstyle complements the work really well. The one manga released this year in MangaPlus that I'm looking forward to every chapter release most of is Hope You're Happy, Lemon though, really liking the character designs, the messy relationships, and the silly antics that's happening in there. School Back is a good read, one of the best from this year so far. Not really feeling Villain, the emotional moments just aren't really hitting, they feel a bit rushed for me. Saihate ni Madou might be the best of this year that I've seen, it does seem like a pretty big drama rollercoaster which can be tough to navigate for mangaka. Notable other stuff I've read from this year that wasn't listed: Satsudou is an office worker martial arts manga with some ecchi elements about a martial arts prodigy trying to be a normal office worker, and it's a fairly fun read. Tower Dungeon only has 2 chapters out but it's from Nihei, so definitely one to keep an eye on, it's fine so far. Ogami Tsumiki to Kinichijou is a nice little SoL about humans and genjins living together, specifically this shy guy and werewolf girl. Gives similar vibes to Ruri Dragon. Maria no Danzai is an edgy revenge story and so far is still fairly enjoyable, nothing amazing but hasn't gone down the Juujika no Rokunin route at least Now That We Draw is another manga to add onto the pile of shy guy+outgoing girl romcom pairs in recent years, but it adds the idea of both of them being aspiring mangaka and is from the pair of Don't Destroy Humanity, which never should've been axed smh

Hey, this was really fun. Great to see you back
Does Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku count as plant-based apocalypse manga? Otherwise there's also Green Worldz.
been missing your vids!
So glad you’re back! The way you started this I instantly imagined you in front of a crackling fireplace holding a glass of brandy.
Your humour perfectly tops off these videos
Thanks to you I think I have to start reading manga now…
