    I know I say it all the time, but thanks for playing through the samples without talking. Much appreciated. Thanks for a good review

    Doesn't happen often that I make something without Damage2, since its release. It's always SOMEWHERE in there, an accent or a layer underneath one impact. it's just too much fun. Damage before that, but Damage2 really is the 2.0

      Yeah the darker sound seems to slip into mixes easier.

    Your percussion keyboard skills are super impressive! Very even timing even with the quick roll stuff!

      I would pay good money (as much or more than the libraries) for a tutorial series on getting the most out of some perc VIs. When to use brush, brush side, flam, etc. for libraries like Djembe X3M. When I picked that up, I spent weeks watching people on UA-cam play their own djembe collection just for very basic knowledge (the drum equivalent of "let your wind players breathe!"... super basic, like "they don't have six arms, so don't do ____"). The problem is that the laborious part wasn't the education and practice, it was finding the right videos.

      @@thisislance I have honestly wanted to do a series of percussion tutorials but every time I try to come up with something I get stumped. Trying to find the right way to show the basics, then the finger training, then the knowledge for different instruments... So many things to cover in so many possible ways my brain caves in. It would take some mighty hours of serious script writing and then some epic months of video planning and creation. The closest I've come to even scratching the surface was my "Drumming Crash Course for Guitarists" video.

    Wanted to take the early opportunity to ask if you have thoughts over the various music fads that have happened like, "bardcore", or the year of the Sea shanty. I love your work! Thank you!

      I don't follow trends as I live under a rock. I do catch a glimpse of composers trying hard to be part of the current fad though when my partner watches her TV shows. Makes me cringe. Not the idea of musicians cycling through different sets of styles or instruments season by season, but the fact that a lot of the music is made from a "canned product" perspective and demanded that way, rather than being free form art that the composer has complete control over.

    did you make your own nki/nkm? I can see you have a very different instrument distribution than the factory one. If so would it be possibe for you to share them? You made me realize I haven't played a bunch of sounds that are showcased here.

      The ensemble builder has a bunch of snapshots that cover every instrument type if you click on the little camera icon to the right of the patch name. I just saved them all as separate patches because I have a habit of doing that.

    Hi Cory great review as usual. Let me shoot a question here. Is it worthy to get any of the damages (1 or 2) if I already own Cerberus from Audio Imperia?

    • @CoryPelizzari
      @CoryPelizzari  3 роки тому +3

      I think so, yeah. The Damage series has much more industrial and solo drum content.

    Cory, would you choose this or World Percussion Creator for someone who is more focused on having an arsenal of percussion sounds but not necessarily making orchestral/classical or scoring for film?

    Was this a pre-release version of the library? The version I have, everything is stored in snapshots under the Ensemble Designer, not separate instruments.

    Nice video, but personally I am not fond of the general sound character of Damage 1 / 2. Everything sounds a bit shouty & samey, especially if you dial in a bit of the room. IMO, when you are after a more natural and refined true percussion tone, this lib falls short.
