Building out my gooseneck enclosed race trailer from an empty shell.

- I bought this 32ft ATC aluminum gooseneck race trailer with nothing inside, just a bare shell with walls and lights. Then added a full set of cabinets, tool box, counters, etc. To turn it into a proper race trailer.

At this point, I'm more interested in shop/trailer/truck/home renovations than car content
Same
@@Taylordrifts Same, looking forward to the rest of the shop build.
Im ready to see the shop closed in!
@@zombieherder9358 same dude, can't wait to see it all come together
Literally one step ahead of everything I plan to do. Last week I was picking out my cabinets on Midwestracecabinets.com and boom...a video is made
On this episode of Taylor and his obsession with the leaves lol
You don’t understand unless you have a massive trees outside your house lol
I do lol it just made me laugh how that was the opening screen cause he talks about them a bunch
Home owner things
I gave up and only ever sweep up the leaves when they prevent the jack from rolling
that's what he gets for picking his house based on the fact that there were quote so many cool trees, I just love trees, I don't know what it is but I just like trees, end quote
Looks good, but you should flip the door on the lower single cabinet, the one in the corner. You'd have a better line to get things in and out and not be restrained in between the door and toolbox whenever getting into. Kinda a small deal, but I feel like it will save you some future headaches!
YESSS! I was thinking the exact same thing. Double stacked guys should open towards the rear also. In case there is a car in the way you can still open the door some.
Should’ve put the single closest to the door. Would solve that
I’d also put some led lights in the bottom corner cupboard, as it will shine some light on the stuff at the back, cheers
It opens a full 180 degrees so it really doesn't matter. I did it that way so it can be open and you can still get into the tool box.
@@Taylordrifts I think he is talking about the thin double stacked cabinets. May make more sense with the hinge toward the back of the trailer and the latch towards the front. That way if you are at the bench you don’t need to reach around the doors or if a car is in will give you more room to sneak in
19:51 that's a wasted "these are not going anywhere" opportunity.
I'm upset 😂
that means there gonna go somewhere
I mean it's a trailer, they are going to go somewhere eventually lol
A Fire extinguisher would look great between the cabinet stacked on top of each other and the shelf mounted on the wall
It's kind of Ironic that this man works alone most of the time yet has 10s of thousands watch him do it...
That space between the top cabinets would be perfect for a fire extinguisher mount
“Especially if you live up north” hit hard lol before I even look at a bolt i have blaster in my hand, CNY problems lol
Same, Indiana problems
Same, Minnesota problems.
Moved from LI to NC. Work in shop doing brakes in a customer car, day 1.
“Where’s the anti-seize?”
Shop Forman - “That’s how you know he’s a Yankee.”
Low key been waiting to see his masterpeice of a trailer. Cant wait for him to get the garage closed in!
"For those of you that work on cars in the north"
Looks at case of PB Blaster on the shelf
Yup.
pretty much
Trailer looks dope!
But man i can't believe you left us hanging with the no peel of the counter tops :P
It really annoys my OCD that the big upper cabinet has a gap between the slim cabinets rather than being pushed up tight to them.
Yeah would look so much better if they where all touchiny
Here to comment the same!!! Also, he now has to climb on the cabinets to get tires out of the front. Which, I guess isn't that big of a deal.
Yes touching and slims side by side %100
The stacked cabinets should have been mounted with the doors opening the other way. That way it can be mounted next to the base cab. The wall cab should be mounted next to the stacked cabinets. Just my input!!
Yes!!!! OCD level 10
that snap doe
Watched your intro to ms course and now I see you on every video lol.
Legend thanks for the help man
Taylor, I need those wheels. I have the same box, but long story short I don't have wheels. Let me know if you can part with them.
I’ve been using pb blaster for 15 years and it definitely works
It's cool watching Taylors catalog of videos from a few years ago compared to now. He went from telling everyone he's broke and needs to sell all of his cars, all the way to showing us his sweet new tow rig, welder, house etc. Glad to see life is swinging up for him, seems like a great dude.
Was so bored at home constantly refreshing UA-cam and Taylor saves the day 🙏
The single cabinet needed the door hanging the other way, so you don't have to get in the corner to open it, and then the door would open into dead space against the toolbox instead of into floor space..... and I think I would have put the two skinny cabinets either side above the bench, that way you can easily access them when there's a car in there.....
Just put the single closest to the door
Damn dude what's up with all the periods sounds like you're on yours
He already explained this. Door opens 180 degrees and he still has access to toolbox
That trailer looks awesome. Only thing I would personally change is taking the cabinet out on the right and building steps there instead. Otherwise it's a pain in the butt to get to the tires and rims. Especially if you have stuff at the back. You could even build the steps so the tops open up so you can still store stuff in them.
i thought the same thing although i would of put the single cabinet in that open spot next to the tool box and left that little section empty to be able to get into that area. also could just have a hinged countertop section that you unlock drops down to get over there/open cabinet then lock back in place to keep the full countertop.
but if the cabinets are strong enough to use as a step then it'll probably be fine the way it is.
Repeatedly using those cabinets as a step to the nose will destroy them in short order.
Taylor edits the snap perfectly it's so satisfying.
Josuanito randomly appearing gets me every time. Good friends can't be valued enough
Ay my guy, let me know who's heads need busted to get these permits pushed through and I got you. Tired of seeing my guy leaf blowing his work space multiple times a day.
I feel like Taylor walks outside and the first thing he does is curse at all the leaves in his shop
Just bought a Milwaukee bandsaw today and holy
Crap it’s so nice
That top cabinet has killed my OCD. I cant deal.
There's nothing you won't tackle that's my favorite thing about you and your channel 💯👍
PRO TIP: You should put silicone on the cabinets at the bottom front, so if you spill something, it won't go in or under them. They look really sick btw.
thought you were going to polish the floor when you pulled the e-tracks out lol
You know those car insurance commercials about becoming our parents? I feel Taylor and his battle with the leaves fits right in with that. lmao
Taylor is grass roots everything and it’s awesome.
Now look into some slide-mount trays (heavy duty) to mount in the nose - tires stacked on, just pull it out and easy access. Looking great, always enjoy watching the upgrades - the genuine excitement for the little details is what keeps me coming back. Your space, your stuff, the little things matter.
Very nice. Toolbox came out great and probably saved some money . Gaining storage in the process.
It’s amazing how big and small this trailer seems at the same time. Our shop pulls a 50 foot race trailer which is huge 🤣.
Have the same brand cabinets in my kart trailer. I’m super happy with them. Been running them for two years and race ever other weekend. No issues yet so I think you’ll be pleased.
I live in Northern Indiana and with farm equipment. I am not gonna lie, Pb blaster works so well, it is unthinkable. I didnt see how much it would help. It works, and yes, the straw is worth the price of a whole can.
Looking really nice! Plenty of storage. A rubber floor with the same thickness as the tracks would make it a nice place to work on stuff. (And less likely you'll stumble carrying something)
Crazy how far you’ve come from the days of the 12 valve and open trailer! So legit man. Congrats!
The black toolbox looks great contrasted with the white! Love the vids Taylor keep it up!
That upper shelf has got to go next to butt up against the two double stack shelves. Just looking at it like that is driving me crazy! Good job mate awesome trailer!
Taylor, look up the trailer aid plus on amazon. Makes changing flats on tandem axle trailers a breeze!
The double cabinet not being lined up over the tool box is killing me
Nice 🤙🏽 IMO I think moving that longer hanging cabinet to the left up against the double stack would’ve looked a little better visually. Also would recommend blocking off the back of the tool box so if you put stuff on top it can fall behind the tool box
I thought I was going to get something done in the next 30 min. nope 😂
Same.....
Taylor, very rarely do you have a bigger toolbox than you need, maybe bigger than will fit but not than you need. I kid but seriously, nice, clearn setup. Love the rig
Looks great ! That dead space back corner would be perfect for a small compressor. And have a couple of air chucks mounted to the filler panel piece!
Happy to see him back at it again his trailer is gonna be sick
Man, trailer/shop content is so cool to watch, I love it, the trailer looks awesome
👍👍 Two thumbs up T Ray! The trailer is looking great! I wish my garage looked half that good, but I'm working on it.
Love to see Blaster sponsor this video. This is awesome. Congrats T.Ray.
I did equipment maintenance for many years. I highly recommend the closed cell foam with the silhouette cut outs for the tools. Makes it super easy to find what you are looking for, plus the tools can't get lost as the trailer rolls down the road. Super nice setup! I also would add under cabinet lighting (like your buddy suggested) over the tool box.
Trailers with Taylor 🙌
Tailors with Trailer
13:00 that can with the adjustable thing is amazing makes ur stuff last a lot longer
Midwest race trailers has some good stuff. I ordered their step for the side door and man it’s great especially for my parents being older don’t like taking a huge step from the trailer to the ground so I got that slider step
The trailer is coming along great! Looking forward to more trailer/garage updates. Underneath the double stacked cabinets looks like a great place for the jack.
Man those cabinets and shelves transformed the trailer... I know he mentioned an in-floor winch but I'm shocked it doesn't have and air compressor in it yet!!! Maybe in that left corner dead space hidden under the countertop!!!
Taylor is living my dream, building a race trailer for his race car out of his own basically fully operational auto/fab shop. All while having a baller ass truck too, keep up the good work👍
Adam LZ: The best that money can buy
Taylor: The best I can build!
Pretty accurate
Then there is ol' cleeter....
You can put a small air compressor in that corner that connects to a hose reel mounted next to the small double door. Cut the counter top above where the air compressor would be to make a removable panel for easy access to the compressor. Just a thought.
Maybe on the corner cabinet, and the double stacked shallow cabinets, the doors be better to open the other way? Better access to the very corner space, and won't have to reach around the tall doors when standing at toolbox.
So sick. All you need is a tv couch and fridge and you can live in there. I would lol. Nice job!
Just used PB Blaster on the door lock of my car yesterday. Love their products!
Speaking of the Blaster Corp...the Corrosion Stop is a must have for the North East. Thanks for reminding me about their products.
For the gap between the upper cabinets above the tool box and the slim cabinet put some harbor freight verticals glove holder for the tool box so you can have throw away gloves
man i havent watched since when you had roommates, glad to see you doing so well! killer shop and trailer
Dude this is awesome! You should add some lighting under the hanging cabinet on top of the tool box. I think a wall mount fire extinguisher would look great between the hanging cabinet and shallow cabinets!
Love the cupboards and storage upgrades, it just works, the layout is pretty perfect brother, it's very satisfying to see the process and end result.... killed it!
Bro you left us hanging by not pulling the plastic off the top of the counters . You tease !
The trailer is awesome! Look like a professional job! I think foam insert for the tool box would be cool. And the lights on the cabinet would help.
We used to move drilling rigs with our manitowoc crane we used PB blaster on our pins for the boom and what not was really good stuff 👍😁
Trailer is coming together very nicely 👍
Trailer looks awesome! Lots of storage! Great job Taylor!
Pb blaster is awesome. Lol, cabinets turned out really nice man.
You could make the counter above the toolbox hinge upward to allow access behind it for hidden storage. That way it's not space wasted.
Hope u do a video of you filling the trailer with your tools and equipment! Id be neat
Some of that framing you used for the cabinets, you should make a short version frame on the other side of the trailer that you can hold all your fuel containers in place so they don't take up cabinet space and they are all held securely. Just drop them in and they are secure from sliding around or falling over.
This looks siiiiiick! Can't wait to see it all loaded up. Stoked for you Taylor.
I found the channel from the 7.3 dually last week, watched it, thenFummins, then trailer vids… I’ll catch up eventually.
Favorite show before bed, trailer is going to be siiiick.
Still so crazy to see PB blaster sponsoring you🤯 been telling people for years how much of a game changer it is
It’s such a cool company to work with because they truly make an awesome product. They’re also awesome to work with.
@@Taylordrifts I'm glad they're taking care of you dude! I'll always be a fan of their products and you're showing me that they have way more stuff that I need to buy from them😂
Thanks for linking those cabinets, they ARE affordable! I can't wait to get an enclosed to go through the planning and installing just like you did. I'd mount a fire extinguisher between the upper cabinet and the narrow cabinets by the toolbox. I also think you are going to want lighting in those bigger cabinets too ;)
That negative space under the counter in the corner seems perfect for a compressor. You could do a switch and outputs/remote bleeder on the trim panel. [-8
Man that trailer is sick , I'm stoked for you. You should check out Kresto cherry hand wipes. Excellent for cleaning your hands , tools and even boxes. Keep the content ROLLING!
Extremely satisfying to watch. Looks great!
Those look nice enough to use in a garage, I like the positive latches!
Why do I need to watch every time Taylor does fab work. 😂it’s just so satisfying 🤣💯
The new cabinets makes the trailer look dirty looks good
On your toolbox cabinet you could potentially put a hinge on the top to flip it open and have storage behind the box maybe for odd parts? Also maybe use that open area on top of the box to fabricate a small nuts, bolts, electrical connectors etc storage bin?
Trailer setup looks amazing bro, your doing bits , love from the UK 🇬🇧 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 one day I’ll have a set up as good as urs 💪💪
Instead of double stacking those cabinets you should’ve flipped one and put them side by side like a fridge.
Thank you for making this video! I’ve always wondered about unfitting a bare trailer, this really helps fill in the blank. Great work Taylor!
Looks cool! Might as well put in a mini-fridge so you don't get sunstroke in the hot Florida sun, seems to be mostly hot pavement at all those races you go to?! Oh, and you could consider one of those roll-up trailer awnings too.
Man Taylor
I love how you make some things actually look obtainable for us! I know what I want when I get a house now ✊🏿
awesom set up! one thing though, if you had left a gap between the two double stacked cabinets and mounted the bottom one flush with the floor, you could have extended the counter top space a bit and had a nice narrow section of counter, and had everything flow a little better
Everything except the kitchen sink, literally. Looks fantastic. Soooo jealous.
Taylor what you should do is put that little cabinet in to the space in the corner that’s not being used so that way you have an easier access to the gooseneck.
I was doing an fittings with pb blaster the other day, I learned from the best
One thing i did on my old work truck was get a 12v Milwaukie battery charger, can mount it to the side of the cabinet and charge your batteries while you drive, game changer for me but im sure you are already all over that Taylor haha
Also maybe a packing bit at the back of the toolbox on top so tools dont fall behind it, would suck to get them out if they did fall, but again im sure you all over it.
Im lowkey waiting for the epic fummins and trailer rolling shots down the highway, such a cool set up.
Happy Taylor makes the best videos. Which is every video.
I love the racing vids but dang I love the shop and trailer vids more for some super satisfying reason. Taylor, dude you are an inspiration. Cheers and keep up the excellent work.
The space above the tool box you could put your tie down straps👍🏻👍🏻
