Thanks for posting. I just came across this and should add that this film was probably made in 1961 as the Olde Frothingslosh labels on the bottles are from that year's design. I have fond memories of Cordic and Company, often imitated, never duplicated.

I have all 8 different color cans and a purple one autographed by Martha in 1977...

Olde Frothingslosh came from the imagination of Regis Cordic, KDKA morning radio host. He's the tall fellow in the top hat and glasses in these commercials. He later moved to LA and appeared in many TV shows and films, including Woody Allen's "Sleeper."

Upon further review... According to the July 31, 1960 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, this film consisting of two 1-minute ads and one 20-second spot was shot in and around London, England in August 1960. If it bears a resemblance to Richard Lester's "Running, Jumping & Standing Still Film," it's probably because it includes two actors from that film, Bruce Lacey and John Vyvyan. It was directed by Bob Godfrey who at the time was associated with Biographic Cartoon Films.

Olde Frothingslosh was brewed by Pittsburgh Brewing, makers of Iron City, between the 1950s (when this commercial was probably filmed) at least the late 1970s (when I bought some in Chicago). IIRC, the whole Frothingslosh idea came from a Pittsburgh DJ who's name I don't remember now. The beer was just Iron City in another bottle/can.
In the 1970s, they produced commemorative cans with a (I'll be politically correct here) "horizontally gifted" woman in various poses. There were probably a dozen or so in all. I think the brand disappeared by 1980 or so.

Iron City brings it back occasionally. I have six Olde Frothingslosh cans from the late 1970s.

They still sell it. The joke is that it's the last 3 inches of scum from the bottom of the kettles of iron city beer; the real joke is that it's not a joke
