At the time of Live Aid I was serving in the British Royal Marine Commandos in a refugee camp in Ethiopia. We listened to it on the radio. We were surrounded by the full horror of the Famine, but when Queen came on the radio those poor soles who were there even reacted in a very positive way. I remember that a lot of us Royal Marine Commandos were crying watching some of the children dancing along, I'm teary eyed just remembering. I looked around at men I had fought alongside, who were tough, hardened Royal Marine Commandos who had fought a life and death war against Argentinian's in 82. By the end of Queen's set we were dancing with the children. It went along way to help build their trust in us. The famine is only one of many terrible memories I have from 34 years of active service, and 2 years hospitalisation. But when I remember the smiles on the children's faces, and their laughter at the terrible way we danced always reminds me that humanity will always find it's way through even the worst of times. Artistic license for dramatic affect: queen never broke up and 'freddie didn't find out he had aids until 1987l The movie did all that for dramatic effect, but nevertheless, Live Aid became Queens 'come back' and insured their legacy!
Thank you for explaining! Always appreciate it!😊🙏🏼 But I did love the movie and remember, they brought an awareness for newer generation to know who they are! Which I love and the actors were amazing and studied the real QUEEN very well!👍🏼
There is more manipulation in the movie. It sad, but it looks like they are waiting with the business for the death of witnesses - Freddie's Mother and Jim Hutton.

Now it's nearly 40 years later. People are discovering it for the first time. I love watching yours & there reactions to this iconic performance. God bless Queen. God bless all Queen fan new & old.
I've never seen "stage presence" like it before or since. It's difficult to appreciate that this wasn't even a Queen Gig - they only agreed to appear at the last moment, by which time all the tickets had been sold, so the crowd must have been astonished when they learned that they were going to see Queen in addition to all the other great acts. There were no mobile phones in 1985 so how great to see the crowd just living in the moment. Apparently, as they walked off the stage David Bowie was waiting to go on, and he just said "You bastards!". In fairness he did a great set as well - one of the few acts that could follow Queen. I remember watching the whole day on TV - it was epic.

People also ask Who originally did Crazy Little Thing Called Love? Queen "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" is a song by the British rock band Queen. Written by Freddie Mercury in 1979, the track is included on their 1980 album The Game, and also appears on the band's compilation album Greatest Hits in 1981.
I don't care if the film is inaccurate or not, if it brings people to watch the real version and understand what Queen & Freddie was all about thats all that matters.

@@irinichotou470 thanks my dear! Yes I'm argentine who lives in Rio-Brazil since 79. And is true, watch Queen live is UNFORGETTABLE, a magic experience for all life! I'm so happy that the new generations are knowing and loving Queen and magnificent FREDDIE! Love my dear! 👑❤️
@@gracielahonig I feel very lucky to meet you Graciela 👑👑👑 and thank you for all your beautiful words 💖💖💖
I couldn't even imagine. I'm gonna cry...
I also love Queen... and Freddie really.
Your reaction is so lovely. Thanks
Thank you.:)
Very emotional and the sweetest reaction, Rebeka :) Very nice! I could recommend you to check Somebody to love (Live in Montreal 81) - Freddie sounds very powerful and strong. Another less known masterpiece - White Queen (Live at Hammersmith Odeon, 1975) :)
Thank you so much!😊 Yes, I will check it out! Thank you for your suggestion, appreciate it!👍🏽😊
No one could play the crowd as Freddie could. Truly the best 20 minutes of music.
I love your reaction! You brought me to tears!
Thank you so much for your kind words. 😊 I’m so sorry...🥺
To think that the band Queen had considered not participating at this concert.
Lucky for us, only crazy peoples never change their mind.
I saw Queen live at Wembley, the same stadium that live aid was played. It was part of the Magic tour and had Status Quo as the main backing group. I would have loved for you to have been there. The atmosphere was electric and at the end he came back on stage wearing a replica of the crown jewels, and finished off with the National Anthem.
Watching them is incredible, but to be at one of their concerts is an experience that you remember for life.
Love your reaction Rebecca. What an amazing band Queen
Thank you so much.:) Yes, agree.
Amazing reaction :) Why is it I feel happy watching someone cry?
Thank you so much.:) I don't know why...:D
Adorable reaction ... you’re in great hands with us Queenies! Sounds like you’ve already fallen into the Queen rabbit hole!! Btw, no place I’d rather be 😁. Definitely check out FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS live in Milton Keynes 1982. NOW I’M HERE live at Wembley 1986. GET DOWN MAKE LOVE live in Montreal 1981. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much! Yes, I’m in a deep QUEEN rabbit hole!🙈😂 Thank you for your suggestions! I will definitely check them out!☺️
Somebody To Love @ Milton Keynes in 1982 is far superior to 1981's Montreal version watch that .. add on Save Me from Milton Keynes too
I love them too! ❤️ Their performances were so perfect!! Why I was born so late 😥🥰❤️
He was the best! Awesome !!!!!
best reaction i have seen to this. i remember watching this with my wife. live as it happened, the full 24 hour show arounf the world.
What makes this reaction great, you heard freddie, and you felt freddie
Wow, thank you so much😊🙏🏼
Artistic license for dramatic affect:
queen never broke up and 'freddie didn't find out he had aids until 1987l The movie did all that for dramatic effect, but nevertheless, Live Aid became Queens 'come back' and insured their legacy!
As a 54 year old man, NOTHING on UA-cam makes me more happy to see young people seeing this legend for the first time. Freddie brought together everyone. Every colour or creed to enjoy his music. To see you all carrying this on makes me cry. Thank you for your video.
It actually makes me cry watching live aid cause we lost him ! But watching the holographic with Brian may breaks my 💖 heart there'll never be another like him ! Xxxxxxccccc
It's part of why I find it hard to listen to Who Wants To Live Forever. Freddy was pure talent and is still missed
Girl, I was doing fine pushing back emotions until you went and lost it, then I lost it haha.
I think everyone now has the same feeling watching Queen knowing we were fortunate to have Freddie in our lives for a few years.
Honestly love this reaction, especially during "We Are The Champions".
Thank you so much. I just couldn't keep myself together towards the end...:(
❤DIOS NOS REGALO A FREDDIE Y SU MUSICA ,AHORA SU ALMA EN LUZ,DIOS TE BENDIGA FREDDIE,VIVES EN TU MARAVILLOSA MUSICA❤
NEVER apologise for being emotional!! I cried with you and I'm not ashamed to admit it!
Great reaction! Doesn't matter that you'd seen it before, you're sheer enthusiasm was a joy to behold. Thank you!
Thank you so much.:))))

Thank you so much!😊 I will, thank you for your suggestion, appreciate it.👍🏼
Yes, very natural reaction, going from Rebeka's sweet heart itself. It only proves, that Queen music and Freddie's talent and musician leadership touches our souls, hearts and minds...
Yes SOMEBODY TO LOVE
If you watch close Brian plays three different guitars in Crazy Little Thing Called Love. First is an acoustic one then a black one then back to his red special.
I will try to do my best. Thank you for your suggestion.😊
you see it and you get excited. Freddie is no longer in our world and we will never see him again 😔
This is why we live for the great moments in human history. Saw Queen in concert. Amazing

You are so welcome.:)
Freddie is much loved all over the world and in heaven
Die 80er war die schönste Zeit der Musik Geschichte und ich durfte dabei sein. Schön das heute noch junge Menschen das hören. Du bist die erste Person die bei so einem Auftritt emotional war.
R. I. P. Freddie
Freddie Mercury left us too soon, but, his legacy will never die
there's not a thing wrong with being emotional Rebeka...you know I've asked myself many times what do I see when I see Freddie....a singer? performer? well I have an answer now...perfection...there will never be another like him. Have a good day
Good to see a young lady appreciating a great group 👍
Thank you so much. How can you not??
Hello Rebeka. Thank you for sharing this. I remember watching it back in 1985. Been blown away by what I was watching.
Queen for that 22 minutes. Actually ruled the world.
Nobody could capture and hold an audience's attention like Freddie Mercury.
Live Aid. Storica e splendida esibizione. Freddie semplicemente FANTASTICO ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi from Argentina! Beautiful reaction for the best band in history! You`re very emotional :)
Good save the Queen
Thank you so much.:) Yeah... Well... When a lot is going on in your own life and you can relate to a song it breaks you and tears start to come.:)

People also ask
Who originally did Crazy Little Thing Called Love?
Queen
"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" is a song by the British rock band Queen. Written by Freddie Mercury in 1979, the track is included on their 1980 album The Game, and also appears on the band's compilation album Greatest Hits in 1981.
Miss Freddie💔💔💔
The Joy on your face watching this performance makes it so worthwhile
Thank you so much.;)
You are so welcome.adam Lambert does a nice job but only one freddie.go see them live you will really enjoy the spectacle.
I don't care if the film is inaccurate or not, if it brings people to watch the real version and understand what Queen & Freddie was all about thats all that matters.

You're now my new favourite reviewer. Love the way you get into the music so much. keep it up.
