Had an r22 water truck at the quarry I was at. What a machine. Whoever rebuilt it did a fine job. Ran clean, started beautifully and almost instantly any weather
We have this model Euclid at the steel mill I work at still going to this day. They use it to haul scrap and mill scale. Its a really cool old truck, I imagine the light duty it sees there keeps it long lived. The Detroit is awesome to hear!
I drive an r22 daily at work. Our other site has newer gm built euclids. the Detroit 6 is so loud and primitive though. Was a new experience the first time I ran it.
Looks like the Allison transmission in her?. Takes me back to when I used to work on Terex rigid trucks with the 71 and 92 series Detroit’s in. The Euc sounds in good tune.

You mention that the vehicle in the video is a Euclid R22 Quarry Truck, and its 6-71 Detroit Diesel Engine some “called the most efficient way to turn diesel fuel into sound!” Actually, this is “the most efficient way to turn diesel fuel into” black exhaust smoke.
@@mikewhipkey6863 The National Pike, steam, gas and horse association has two shows each year: May and August. The August show is the bigger of the two. This year we were supposed to have featured "Euclid", but COVID-19 put a lid on both shows. The show has a few regular heavyweights including a TC-12, 1FFD and a R-35. A huge 72-81(?) was brought in this year but I didn't get to see it run.
@@Caje-zf8md yeah I've been to it a few times... my pap had a 1969 Dodge 900 Tandem dump truck he sold it to a guy that restored it and now uses it to haul his Army trucks and jeeps there I always look for it first when we get there
The truck started life as 'CMP', a 2nd world war Canadian Military Pattern vehicle. They were made both by Chevrolet Canada and Ford of Canada for Canadian and Commonwealth countries. They were used world wide and continue to be used in highly modified forms to this day. Search CMP trucks. This one was modified in the Barrie Ontario area with a second engine to power the snow blower.

When I was a kid and playing in my back yard, this is what my imagination was doing while playing with hotwheels!
Or Tonka trucks!
That is a great rust finish. Makes me want to do a truck to do similar weathering. Thanks.
As the rat rodders say 'it's not rust, it's patina!'
Boy, that thing sure does drown out everything else around it! Imagine working in a open pit mine with a whole fleet of these things.
Pass the ear protection!
Thanks Dan for Sharing n God Bless All
I hope everyone enjoys it.

I’d have that auto box out and have an 18 speed twin split or range Change in her and play proper tunes.

We have a lot of "screamin' jimmys" at our bi-annual show held down here in PA. From 2-71's all the way up to twin 6-71 Detroit diesels.
Caje1962 is that the Brownsville steam equipment show? (I forgot the actual name)
