You know what I like about your channel, you need less than 10 seconds to introduce yourself and the song instead of 2 minutes intro, info about gave-away, merch and shit like that

Love this vids, please more Rock/Metal analysis. The grunge era have some great vocalists like Layne Staley and Chris Cornell, i don’t know if you are into it but it would be really cool to hear your technical insights. Alice in Chains Live at the Moore have some great vocal performances.

Yessssss, Layne had one of the most beautiful voices of all time. Such artistic flow with no effort. If I could bring back one decesed musician it would be a tough pick between Layne and Freddie Mercury.
Chris Cornell is great too, but I have always enjoyed Alice in Chains the most from the grunge scene.

i saw them live like 2 months ago with my brother, and the fact that they literally sounded exactly like their recordings is so baffling to me still. I also got the honor of meeting them and saying hi and stuff and they were literally so nice and chill. Ive seen a decent amount of artistis live and no one has ever amazed me more than Nothing But Thieves

Idk why but I still come back to this video every now and then. It was my first time watching a vocal analyzing video which was so fascinating to hear especially how you talked and explained it. But also my very first experience listening to Nothing but Thieves and being so obsessed with them afterwards. Learning about this band really changed my life. Even after listening to the song probably a hundred times and seeing it live twice, the bridge always gives me goosebumps and emotional grip.
I’ve never heard of this band but they seem like my ideal style of music. (Partially I was just excited for a non-k pop musical style. Not that k-pop isn’t good, it’s just not my taste) but thank you for introducing me to a new band to listen to!
Yeah, they're really good. They're actually on a really big tour right now, you should really check them out! Saw them at TRNSMT festival in Glasgow (scotland) and they're sooo good live.

Especially when he really puts strength into his high notes over some heavier bass and guitar. Conor's operatic vocals over traditional alt rock sounds is so good. Like a second coming of Muse in some ways.

I don’t think his voice is unique I think it’s just how he uses it. I couldn’t even tell you If Gerard knows anything about singing or even has any skills as a singer. I mean, the whole band didn’t even know how to play when they released their first album.
idkmybffbatman I think you might be confusing them with a different band. Everyone knew how to play and had been playing for awhile when they released their first album, except the bass player Mikey, he was still kind of a beginner. He’d played in other bands before though, they all had. They talk about all this in their documentary, Life on the Murder Scene.

Such a fantastic video Sam! I appreciate the extra editing of the sound of the video dimming when you speak (although I know it's a lot of extra work and to be completely honest I didn't mind when you didn't do that before), but I *especially* loved how you explained what a bridge is and what that means in relation to which note he's hitting AND what that says about him as a singer. Completely fascinating for someone like me who has never had an introduction to vocal training/theory (except through your amazing channel!)
Not to mention your enthusiasm and passion for the subject is so genuine (there's nothing clickbait-y or mean-spirited about your videos; any constructive criticism is always framed in a way that shows why certain things don't work and how the singer could improve, so it never feels like you're making fun of them for views).
