As a hockey fan and someone who hates the team he plays for, he's the best goal scorer I've ever seen. He's also a one of a kind Russian hockey player. There's no one close to him from Russia. He's NFL Running Back sized, hits like a free safety, and has the best shot of anyone at his position. I feel fortunate to have watched him play the game. He has a legitimate chance at breaking the NHL goal scoring record held by Gretzky. Just the fact that he can be mentioned in the same sentence as Gretzky for a monumental achievement like that says a ton.

Jaromir Jagr.... 2nd best NHL player in history. He was, oh, still is a beast. Playing NHL since 1990, and he is still active in Czech republic, where he owns league team, where he is still playing at 48!
He has a legitimate chance to break the all time goal list in an era where scoring goals in vastly more difficult. He is simply the greatest Goat scorer to have ever existed.

That number 1 goal was in his rookie season against a team being coached by Wayne Gretzky.
Ovechkin was legitimately one of the most exciting players in the league in his younger days. The speed, skill, size and determination. He was a prototypical power forward (although he lacked effort defensively). He has probably the best shot of anyone ever. Now in his older years you see far fewer of these plays but he's always near the top of the league in goals (yes he takes a lot of shots). He's the only chance of anyone in the near future of beating one of Gretzky's once thought of as unbeatable records.
