Right on. I know it's not all that popular, so I appreciate whenever jazz comes up on SoT. The acoustic / bop stuff from Coltrane, Monk, Rollins, Blakey is at least as invigorating to me as lots of rock. Saw some great CDs such as Horace Silver's Song for my Father, Eric Dolphy's Out to Lunch, Charles Mingus' Ah Um.

Love that Don Ellis Soaring Album. Ellis imo is the most underrated jazz big band leader of all time. Electric Bath is probably my favorite big band jazz album of all time. He is definitely worth a deep dive Pete, if you haven't already.

The PLAYERS album! Weren't you looking for that in an earlier video? Isotope & Nucleus are bad asses! I wish I had those Shawn Lane albums...held them back in the day, didn't pull the trigger! You need more Steve Khan/Eyewitness! There's 3-albums on 2 cds sets out there...cheap.

Pete, have you ever checked out any of the Windham Hill stuff from the late 80s thru mid 80s? Michael Hedges, Alex Degrassi, William Ackerman, George Winston, etc…. Would love to hear what you think of it.
Not that you need any more jazz albums - you appear pretty set in your tastes - but I'm surprised by the lack of Mingus outside of "Mingus Ah Um." If you like "Out To Lunch" so much, might I recommend any/all of Charles Mingus' live recordings with Eric Dolphy from his April 1964 band. One of the most accessible is "Town Hall Concert" (not to be confused with his "Town Hall" disaster from 1962) or "At Cornell" or pretty much every other show he did in Europe with that band. Also, if you're interested in getting the more accessible side of John Coltrane's later period, might I suggest "First Mediations" and "Sun Ship." They're two of my absolute favorites of his.

Grant Green, not Gary Green. It was Wes Montgomery that led me to him. It would take a lot of time, but Discogs is a great way to catalogue your music. I don't see anywhere that you mentioned how many CDs you have.
Nice collection although probably a bit overwhelming for my taste. In my older years I'm trying to get rid of stuff not accumulate (which is a job in itself and difficult to do)..
