Absolutely amazed at the sheer number of albums you have of bands I’ve never heard of. I truly admire your broad love of music. I feel bad for not exploring more. Truth is, I just get absolutely hung up on the music I do love, and there just isn’t enough time.
I agree with you. Hard to find the time to listen to new groups (though I try here and there) when I love the stuff I love and spend my time listening to that.
Thank you, Pete for showing more of your CD collection. I enjoyed watching and listening to this. I’m looking forward to seeing the next video. 🎤🎸🎵🎹🥁 Life is better with music.
Great series Pete. I lovve how varied and extensive your collection is. I just finished watching you and Chris Alo do the Black Sabbath history and thought I would mention that I have a DVD of the Black and Blue movie imported from South America. Had to have it, as I was in some of the footage.
Seeing the Kim Mitchell albums, I wish you'd rank his solo albums (maybe with Martin?). I just recently got into his solo work, and it's just amazing. It made me go back to Max Webster too, which I only knew superficially even though I have all their albums. Great band, great artist, pretty much unknown here in Europe. Cheers.
It may be biting off more than he would want to chew right now, but it is high time that Mr. Pete organize his live King Crimson albums and do an entire show devoted to providing an overview of all of them.
Wow! I had no idea anyone knew about Message! I found em randomly on the internet one day. Cool krautrock. I haven’t yet bought any of their albums though, as my shelfspace is limited. I have about 300-400 of my favorites and whenever I find something new and great, I get rid of something I like less😎👍🏻
Thanks, Pete, for showing off your outstanding collection. But yes, a couple of bands were mentioned casually that now will require tracking down for listening. Enjoying this series and looking forward to also seeing what is "...in the closet..." that is mentioned often. Thanks again.
Hey Pete do you worry about shelf wear on the digipaks? Or discs scratching in those mini-lp style pockets? I don't know if that is an issue for you. I much prefer jewel cases myself, but they are becoming rarer for new releases these days.
Once again, very interesting, thanks for showing. HA, Pete: You got the "Princess Alice..." by MAGNUM as the advance promotional CD. Thats pretty much the only pro-CD I see (besides Molly Hatchets "Warriors of the..." by the same label SPV) on the whole shelf I see, easily to recognise by the slim-case. Have a couple of those as well, and never wanted to include them between the official products as they don't have a booklet. PS: I recognise no "Feeding of the mojo" and "Hole in the sun" by Night Ranger 🤫
November, how on earth did you come by them? I live in sweden an I've never seen them. I've heard them but never seen any albums. So rare to find. Great band though. Deserve to be rereleased imo. Love to see all your stuff, looking forward to the next run.
Pete, cool look into your collection, thanks for that. Mine is not nearly as big, but I'm currently at about 4000 CDs and LPs and I see that the way you sort your discs is pretty und similar to the way I do it. Sometimes though when I get a missing album by a band it's hard to find space and in order to keep the structure on my shelves I would have to re-arrange complete columns just because of one or two additions. Is there a pro way to solve the problem? :D
Hi Pete! Love your shows! I am a big Deep Purple fan, and althought I now live in Spain, I was born in Cuba and lived there for 37 years. In your videos you and your guests are always telling stories of how you discovered so and so artist and how you got hooked to Rock and Roll. Maybe one day you can do a show with stories of people from communist countries and how we discovered and got hooked to Rock music in places where Rock was considered "The Music Of The Enemy". In Cuba we have dreadful stories. I, fopr example, was sent to "Disciplinary Councils" many times and even threatened with jail time (Many rock fans did time just for that) for lstening to this genre. And how we managed to get the latest releases, well, that´s another story!! A big hug from Madrid!!!
Your story sounds like it would make for a fascinating discussion topic here on SOT. Maybe Mr. Pete could put together a panel of guests from foreign countries where Western rock music was banned and/or difficult to come across.

A couple I didn't see: 1) King Crimson had a box set 7 or so years ago with Blu-Ray discs with a title like "Radical Power To Unseat The Hold Of Monkey Mind" that had a great cover art (don't they always?) that was around $40. 2.) Liquid Trio Experiment ! Liquid Tension Experiment minus John Petrucci is a fun one also. PP mentioned he was missing a couple of Metal Church CDs. I believe they are the 1993 classic "Hanging In The Balance" with Mike Howe on the label Blackheart Records (classic!) and the 1999 or so album "Masterpeace" which to my ears was disappointing with the legendary David Wayne back on vocals. For great David Wayne check out of course Metal Church and his follow up band Reverend. Classic heavy metal.
Hi Pete! Interesting to see that you haven't got a single CD of Mike Oldfield... I was hoping for an "ranking the albums" episode but I guess it isn't happening haha. Cheers!
I wonder Pete, since you have been adding new stuff in the open crevices that you have on top of the normal row, if you will one day just tear it all down and reorganize your CDs. Maybe move some of the stuff you don't listen to that often anymore into the closet and move some of the closet stuff to the shelves.
J.....J is for Jay Ferguson along with Mark Andes of the band Spirit formed Jo Jo Gunne and had limited success but I consider their self titled debut album in '72 and ''Bite down hard'' their second album in '73 some of the finest California hard rock of the era.
