I just picked up the same pair on Ebay. I was surprised to fined that they're the Limited Edition. Amazingly, they appear as though they've been worn a couple of times only. I don't think the previous owner appreciated what he had too. The leather hadn't been conditioned, nor had the shoes been polished. I gave them the Saphir treatment and they look beautiful!
they look great. It's handmade and will have some imperfections and has a decent price. I love it that AE has wide sizes and lots of stores to try them on.
Beautiful shoes. If you are going to get a special pair of AE, the McNeil in walnut is definitely on point. Excellent! BTW, I totally agree with you that , on mass produced shoes, to simplify and ease production the supplier uses the same upper pattern that is made for a nominal size and they stretch this over a spectrum of last sizes and the shoe sizes on the outside range from nominal suffer aesthetically from this practice and look out of proportion. I think this is true also when you change shoe widths. I normally wear a 10 1/2 ‘D’ but on some shoe models I prefer to size up and go down with the with, with AE I might go with an 11 in ‘C’ or ‘B’ and I like that it takes some of the bulkiness out of the toe box. I’d love to get your thoughts on this? Thanks and I love the channel!!
100% about the widths. It really depends on the pattern. I noticed it first on a McAllister because the was so close to facing but it’s true that the width can change the look as well. On any of the wingtips the small change in width (in Europe a width is equal to 0.5cm in circumference so figure a third of that in each side plus a third on the sole. Because the total measurements are small it’s difficult to see if there isn’t significant patterning but short wings and long wings are visibly different.
@@sauljimenez6738 The fit, style and finishing quality of TLB all work much better for me. Still exploring other brands, but TLB will be backbone of my collection 😅
I got mine just before my Black Forest vacation. I am happy with the purchase, and looking forward to wearing them when I get home.
Heinrich Dinkelacker is only an hour north of the Black Forest…
@@wishoeguy about two hours from our vacation apartment. But we travel to Stuttgart on occasion and their show room is 30 minutes north from there.
The color is gorgeous! It looks like a Bourbon color here. Very fair review.
My man!!!!! Love your content!!! :D
Very nice shoes. Always thought that the MacNeil in Walnut brown beats the Strand of same colour. It's a shame that the MacNeil is no more.
Totally agree

I saw the snaps on AEE. Very nice pickup!

how much did this pair cost?
All of the 100th anniversary sales are mto so list price. I believe it’s still 395 as a standard price.

One other thing, higher end shoe makers cut the leather for every pair… so it’s cut per size and this doesn’t happen.
Thanks john, can you speak to the leather quality?
Am no longer interested in acquiring any AEs, but nice new mic!
agreed, the audio quality is improved.
I'm no longer interested in AE either!!! But why do you not want them anymore?

@@liangchen8177 Yea, I have not tried TLB but that will be my next shoe! FOR SURE!!! In meseum calf!!!!
They look descent! But AE is way behind on shoe styles! By now they should have slimmer profiles, fiddle waist, meseum calf etc...
