Hi good to see you back at Holden. I still haven't made it there! Loved the live channel whelk , never seen one before. I also have never found tusk. On my bucket list though!! Thanks for another adventure.
Oh that banded wentletrap is so cool! How fun to find so many baby ears and tusk shells too. Foot prints might also mean those people that walk the beach but don’t look down. I don’t get them! 😅 I didn’t realize the stout tagelus got so big! And I have never found a keepable sea star. You got lucky!
I think the keepable sea stars are mostly a post storm thing. This one was in an old high wrack line, clearly left behind the storm that I barely missed by a week and a half (wish these things were predictable for us shellers when we plan our trips months in advance). That wentletrap was probably my favorite find of the day. I've never found one in Florida for some reason but they seem to be fairly common on most good shelling beaches in NC. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! :)
@@shellstories Someone said they found a brown-band wentletrap at Lighthouse beach. I’m dying to find one for myself. Bummer about the timing but you still found some neat stuff!
@@SWFBeachLife I think they make occasional appearances at Lighthouse but I never lucked up. I've heard people literally find them by the hundreds in some areas of northern SC/southern NC, which is incredible!
Thank you for the walk.. tusks and ears were definitely out today!
YOU'RE BACK. I MISSED YOU!!!

Wish I was there, love shelling.....treasure hunting, never heard of tusk shells
Not too many people talk about tusk shells. They're common but mostly overlooked. Thanks for watching!

Do you ever find sharks teeth at Holden Beach? Great video. 😊❤
Yes, I've found some shark teeth out there. They're all over when you look for them specifically. Thanks for watching :)
That channeled whelk was pretty. Too bad the resident was using it...
It was a very nice shell! They're definitely hard to find not alive.
