I saw that as I was editing! When there's so many shells it's impossible to get 'em all (and filming everything exposes that). I'm sure another sheller enjoyed that one!
Does Holden Beach act like Sanibel? Do you go out at low tide with a headlamp at all times of the year? I would like to go shelling here but I've never been. I'd love to find some of those baby ears! Or shark eyes. I love them too. I would have went bananas with so many of them! The wentletraps are awesome!
Holden is definitely the Sanibel of NC. The shell piles there that I've seen (particularly around the pier) are reminiscent of what you'd see in SWFL. I went out mostly before sunrise (winter months) in the dark and had really good luck. I haven't posted the video(s) yet, but my last beach walk of my trip there was literally one of the most spectacular shelling days I've ever had, definitely on par with post storm shelling on Sanibel. I would absolutely recommend giving this area a try! I would say go during the off season to find the best stuff, and to not get ripped off on rental home/hotel prices. Also, it's the only beach where you can consistently find those extinct NC sea biscuits, so it's really one of the more unique beachcombing experiences out there!
@@shellstories I really appreciate your feedback! I am going this winter!! Someone gifted me some of those biscuits, but I’d like to find my own. Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hi Stories, I've been waiting.
Oh no! Looks like the sharks are blind and the babies are missing their ears. LOL, nice finds and at such a peaceful time of the day.
That must be the case😂 Thank you so much for watching!
Nice but can't believe you missed that lettered olive with the white coral fragment attached to it! 😮

No problem. I am happy to communicate via email regarding this too!
Where and when was this?
I filmed this back in January, near the pier.
What months are good for shelling there @@shellstories
@@carriechristie9058 Winter months are the best!
