Thanks short and straight forward good tip
that nut that you easily got off with the impact is seized on mine, FANTASTIC ! lmao
Let it sit with some good penetrating oil.
Nice did it all one handed! well done!
Best most realistic helpful vid on these r arm bushings. Show us axle bushing replace too plz
Thank you for the help
Fixing to do the same thing on my " 81" E250 Econoline van
I have to do this but mine is a 1975 -e150
AWESOME! So glad to see you don't have to take the whole shit apart. What did you jack and when? Like was the jack always holding up the side of the car you were working on?
I believe so, any jacking was filmed.
Looks like he just used the jack to push the radius arm up a bit to align the bolt holes in the bracket to frame but did the whole job with wheels on the ground.
I am about to do this. Can I ask why you didn't use the impact driver on all the bolts? Also, is it possible to do this without jacking the car up? Thanks so much for the video. Best one I've found. Especially the trick with using the jack to put the bracket back in place.
I think I didn't use the impact because I didn't have one powerfull enough that would fit in there at the time. You might be able to do it without jacking it up, but then you're fighting the weight of the car, when you line everything back up.
@@GrimRepair Thanks!
Hi good video, would a Ford S-Max Radius arm/suspension arm be similar to this?
I'm not familiar with an smax.
I’m like 99% sure you got the bushing in wrong. Coned one in front with ring then big round one in back
Lol
lol
I gotta replace both sides on my e350, same design as in the video tho. My question for anyone knowledgeable..
My concern is that my bushings have been worn so long and used with so much metal to metal contact, that im afraid to begin this job without new brackets (referring to the part that holds the arm and bushings, bolted with three bolts to chassis.)
Does it ever happen that the bushing/arm hole on the "bracket" get wallowed out having been neglected for too long? Is it possible the bracket or perhaps even the arms are needing replacement at a certain point?
This is important to me as my work van is my livliehood, definitely want to have everything on hand so my van isnt out of commission for weeks or whatever..
If it's worn bad enough, replace the metal parts affected.
@@GrimRepair thanks bud. Yeah my parts seem reusable but man these bracket bolts are a pain with amazon wrenches 😜
Oh man, rewatched yer video. Looks like g
Ford got smart sometime in the 2000s and ran the bolts from the outside. Mind are from the inside and very difficult to get sockets on them.. Oooff lol
@@CaptNaufragio Around 2010 they total changed to be even better than the one in the video.
@@GrimRepair i had to remove some exhaust to make clearance to get bolts out lol. Not the end of the world, kinda stupid that was necessary though. I guess theyve been improving so whatever. Cheers bud thanks for the tips!
Is it the same process for a 2011 E250? I know it's a different part.
I believe they use a different set up, that almost never wears out. If it looks the same, then it probably is.
I think the whole arm has to come out.
I am trying to find a video for a 2000 F250 radius arm bushing replacement and can’t find a single one
It should be the same as this video.
@@GrimRepair it is sorta the same but it is a flat bar and the bushing presses in from the side
@@scottydavis1813 is it 4 wheel drive?
@@GrimRepair no sir, 2wd twin I-beam. The radius arm is a decent size. If you google a 2000 F-250 radius arm you will see what I am talking about
Try searching for pivot bushing videos, let me know if that's what you're working on.
Gd stuff. But u need dewalt xr in your life. Trust me u wont regret it.
Ha, I know. Everything is like 100 lbs when u work with these vans.
