I'm so glad I signed up for the Dart quilt along. Your videos have taught me so much, and I'm inspired to "keep up." I love this pattern and actually enjoyed cutting all the pieces. I'm making a throw for myself. 🤗

Took this project to the Prince Edward Island Modern Quilt Guild retreat in March! It is now on the design wall ready for stitching into rows. I used only scraps which meant I spent days cutting before the retreat. It was so tempting to open the stash cupboard to cut some yardage but I didn't. Not once! Using a large variety of whites and whites with black with solid colour shots. Coming along nicely.

Dear Amy: Your videos are great! Thanks for all the tips, especially on pressing. My attempt is to make a queen/king quilt -- approx 105" x 129" (more the size of bedspread for a queen). I like really large quilts! My blocks will be 7". I've been cutting many colored fabrics from my huge stash; hope to begin sewing soon. While cutting, I also planned placement of colors. Have yet to start cutting whites. Having such fun with so many colors! Thanks again for the videos. Blessings to you and your family.

That's coming along nicely. Love the way you line them all up to press and to clip the chain stitched pieces.
I'm not making this now, but keeping it in mind for a future project.
    Thanks for sharing.

I’m making a throw size Dart. I used a 10” sq pack for my “darts” and random fat quarters from Fat Quarter Shop’s low volume club for my background. I have one more seam on each block to finish them. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t look too crazy since I added several odd low volume FQs that weren’t my taste. 🤞It’s been fun sewing!

Hi, Amy. I appreciate the pressing tips. It’s amazing how, even after quilting for 27 years, I’m still learning.
Is your group that you are sewing with in your Quilt Crew?

Uh-oh! Without being there, I would guess it's how you are pressing your seams or you may need to adjust the direction that you sew your pieces together. Sometimes sewing in opposite directions from piece to piece helps keep things flat. I hope that helps!

@@SewModernQuilts I think this was my problem, sewing direction. my strips seem to move down as I went and I have a bit of stair stepping which made me have to trim my blocks to 6.25 as I could not eek out 6.5 inches. I also have wavy with my 1"strip pressing. I will have to try some different techniques on my next one. I love the quilt though.
