It’s easy put the frame down , place which ever door you like , take off the wall that leaves the door floating. Then put your rug as close as possible and then group select and place the door in the desired location. If it doesn’t work you just have to place the rug on the other side of the door. That’s it !!
How were you able to move the door-way wall, and leave the actual door in place? Shouldn't it be snapped together? Is placing the mat the reason why it stayed?

The door isn’t attached, so it can be removed from the door .
