Katvr really making some awesome products, looking forward to see what else they will create! 1. It would be cool to play Pavlov and actually move around while shooting to increase immersion. 2. So many benefits like exercise, actually feeling like you're in the game, and adding things you can do in multiple vr games. 3. I personally don't like using the joysticks because it doesn't feel like I'm in the game, more like a movie.
(Answers for give away) 1. I would first want to play a physics game like boneworks 2. One benefit of this type of locomotion is the immersion like you said its one step up from the joystick 3. I do think the joystick ruins the immersion! I would love if you guys could help me win this! Thx =-D
I would deffo use it for a full camping style lets play of the forest with my friends and make a full review on how it functioned and the things you could do with it on my own YT ^^" It would just be a cool expiernce and give me fuel to get into vr UA-cam again, i'd use it for every game it supported tbh. I love this idea. It really is impressive tech, and I wanna be able to exercise and just be in vr, would be a world of difference.
1- I would try to do Pole dance 2- The benefit is that you are playing VR games and at the same time becoming super fit 3- Natural move is better, it's much more funnier for the people who are looking at you
I'd love to win this! I'm a young 3D animator with ASD. I don't have a lot of money, but I'd love to have this to experiment with motion capture for Animations, it would be so great! Even if it's not the best FBT method out there, it would still be very great. Please, consider liking my comment... it would mean a lot to win this. Thank you! 1 - VRchat, it would boost immersion like crazy! 2 - It'd be great for animation purposes. 3 - This is a great tool for immersion and for creators. (Game devs and animators alike)
The first game I would buy would definitely be wrath of the gods because I love the art style and how the gane feels, being able to use the Kat Loco s would be a huge benefit to games like this so you can be fully immersed with the game as arose to the joy stick which just doesn't feel natural.
1. I would def play either vrchat or phasmophobia because using this style of movement would make playing with friends a lot more fun and in general, would be crazy fun to use. 2. The biggest benefit of this style of movement is 100% the immersion of the game. 3. I also personally think that using a joystick in VR doesn't break the immersion but, using tech like this would definitely immerse you more in the long run. Thanks for the awesome video!
Vr locomotion really needs to be safe small and immersive. This new technology really is going to be the future of vr. It would really break immersion if it doesn’t respond fast enough or tops out at a very low speed.
I think it's the opposite. VR's peak of locomotion will be reached when we have omnidirectional treadmills that will act as the entire playspace. Whether they are built into the floor or not probably won't change much, but I think we're eventually going to have a commercially available omni treadmill that is about 2m x 2m²
With the Mocap capabilities, I dont care that its not super accurate. Im still gonna feel like a professional dancer playing Just Dance in vrchat. I feel like joystick is nice but being able to just actually walk would bring the VR experience to life even more. Also for us chunky gamers, we cant exactly go to the gym due to covid so just having an immersive experience in some workout worlds would be cool.
More immersion is always better. I sometimes get motion sicknes with teleporting or moving around with joystick. so if i could use my legs i would go on an adventure in skyrim vr!
1.half life alyx like this would be great just walk where you gonna go instead of teleporting 2.it would be a bit more immersive and it would also be great for burning some calories 3.joysticks doesn't ruin the immersion but this is that little bit extra immersion that will make vr more appealing to more people
1. Id probably first tedt the game to get my body used to it before just wanting to test it out everywhere I can 2. I feel like some benefits of the Kat VR would be say crusing as he did or helping with immersion but add the other full body stuff and you can do a lot that they can for a smaller price 3. Joystick does have its benefits especially after getting home from a long day of work and hopping in especially since you have the option to sit vs doing the running but the other locomotion method from Kat does make things more Natural
VR has evolved so much in the past couple years, I mean most people didn’t even understand VR back then and now it is a mainstream part of gaming and society! And now we can literally use a wireless, affordable vr headset and now can literally walk around in vr with your legs! I’m so proud of this community!
Honestly, I super dig what this channel does when it comes to affordable full-body tracking: research, news, and dives. Mute starving artist over here that's a giant VR enthusiast, what an expensive hobby! So as someone who has a big empty play space and jumps around, doing big motions: I've looked into and nearly attempted or contemplated about all that is there to be able to express myself way more. Some of which I Kinda embarrassing but I've tried aprilTags, MocapForAll, and still use OwoTrack, lets say I'm just like in your shoes! Just not that big and don't do coverage myself, but I love tech!
If I could walk around in any virtual space I’d walk around in Journey Of The Gods for that full VR zelda-like experience! I think it would be miles beyond the regular analog stick movement.
1. It would be could to play sandbox games 2. lots of benefits like exercise and makes games mor realistic 3. It feels like a sitting down games with a thumb stick
i will visit Chernobilite, or Half life this great step for the vr world and great to workout whit out leaving you living room, and better experience more immerse nobody likes be in vr and use joysticks can you imagine go to mars and walk around or jump around 🤣 12:38
I've already seen another youtuber review this Locomotion Kit and its so cool and easy to use! Thats the most important part cuz if it isn't easy to use it most of the times will end up on the shelves just to catch dust. But Yeah, i've really dreamed of a kit like this, because about any other body tracking and other locomotion gadgets are really expensive. Although this isn't cheap either, it has some really quality of life features that make the game a whole lot more immersive! I'd love to have 1. or 2 idc. Also another thing i'd like to tell idk why, but its funny how small the VR community is, in like how few youtubers actually make (good) VR vids. And i always end up on the same kind of channels, always really informative, quality and funny videos. Like this one. Just something i noticed, but yeah keep up the good work!
It would be fun dancing with full body tracking on vrchat. With 3 sensors locomotion will be amazing. Joystick kinda breaks immersion in vr but I think some people would decide to go with joystick.
i got the old version of kat loco and i gotta say i never use them nowadays. From what i learned first hand is: 1-it won't work on standalone quest games, and pcvr games need some minor previous setup 2- the action of jogging can be a bit imprecise if the sensors on the ankles move from all the jumping, which happens to me quite frequently what i've learnt is that i can jog like if i had the katloco set setup and moving the joystick at the same time and it's the same experience if not better. You don't lose anything so try it out, this way i can strafe or backpedal without 0 input lag and for someone who get really motion sick i get more inmersed and 0 motion sickness Drawbacks is i end up very tired
This would be great in Google maps. Just take a stroll through any location anywhere in the world whenever you like. Or GTA V. You will pretty much be minicking the characters movements! These may not be available now but this is only the start! This can only add to the immersion in VR as you add another dimension into the game.
I am a brave man so I haven't played Pavlov until the age of 18. 1, I would first try Vrchat, and right after I would buy Boneworks. 2, Finally I could get rid of motion sickness, it will feel more natural. 3, Like Pavlov, it feels so weird to use joysticks to move, and I think it could be one of the best products for all fellow valve index users, so Good luck everybody!
Here are my answers: 1. I would love to see how the Boneworks physics engine works with full body tracking and locomotion and how much it compares to a joystick! 2. I believe that the Kat locomotion could do wonders for hospital patients and could work as physiotherapy and entertainment for people who cant go and explore the real world. 3. Personally I find that it may be true that joysticks break immersion but experiencing new things and new ways to play is what virtual reality is all about right?
Wow. So much thought went in to the packaging and presentation of everything by Kat- VR! It was like watching you open up a Christmas present and I bet I was just as excited as you were as you checked out everything they included. I love they they provided a rugged storage case and the playspace mat was a really well thought of addition too. What an amazing presentation. TBH I had no interest in body tracking - until now. This looks amazing!
I would probably first try either Pavlov Shack or STRIDE as these two games are already so immersive and make you feel epic, so with something like one of these locomotion devices it would make me feel like I am really deep in the battlefield in Pavlov Shack or I am actually leaping from rooftop to rooftop in STRIDE. Personally I think that STRIDE would feel the best though as doing the parkour that the game involves is already one of the most adrenaline filled experiences, and this would take it to a whole new level. This would also be a hell of a workout! Edit: OhShape VR would also be awesome with this, you could be running forward to the next bit where you have to do your pose. I would also love to see some sort of running game or even a game with a jump rope, it would be a priceless brown experience :)
Stride gives me such adrenaline, I wonder how much better it would be with this kind of locomotion implemented, I can imagine much more immersive but at the same time a huge workout
This honestly sounds awesome, and it’s definitely one of those things that if you wanted to try something new with VR that this would give you the chance. That being said, here’s my answers to the questions: 1) If I had locomotion in VR, I would test the ropes through VRchat first. Walking and jogging, lifting my legs; testing the waters, pretty much! 2) The benefits that I see from something like this is mostly out of activity, but also the satisfaction of knowing you were able to do the equivalent of actually moving around in VR environments by the time you’re done. It gives people more incentive to get up and walk, even in place rather than just stand or sit! 3) I like it either way, but if I had to choose I imagine walking naturally would be a major benefit for immersion and enjoyment! It makes for interesting conversation starters, and you can share your experience with others in that regard. Overall, I imagine this sort of thing would be super fun to not only try out but use to it’s full potential.
1. If I had kat loco, I'd love to test in A Township tale (if possible), and even No Man's Sky. Not sure if those two games would be compatible with this type of movement but I'd give it a try. 2. Benefits of kat loco, I think you sumerised the benefits pretty thourougly but deffinitely I got VR to allow some extra fitness when I'm gaming. My quest does that since I'm not sitting as much, however Kat Loco would deffinitely increast that by adding movement. 3. As far as joystick movement, I have not been bothered by it, sure it is not as realistic as if I was actually moving my feet, however, it does not ruin the VR experience for me.
problem with township tale its the fact that the sprinting you got to press the stick for the sprint to activate otherwise no matter how fast you gonna run in place you'll just walk in the game cuz township does not have smooth locomotion
I've done the whole attaching phones to my ackles thing 😂🤣😂 Skyrim VR would be amazing with these wandering about for hours! My step count would go through the roof! I don't have an issue using the stick to move but this is definitely next level!
Horror games would go to a whole new level of immersion with these. They would make games that you move a lot in a lot more immersion as well such as boneworks. I feel that the joystick breaks immersion for sure.
Personally, a better solution for full immersion is for us to get rid of walking. We only walk in real life because it's the only thing we can do without a tool like a car or bike. If we could fly, that's what we would do. Imagine this: Setup a system of fans around your VR play area. Anytime you want to move, just stand on your tiptoes and lean in that direction. As soon as you do, the fans behind you turn on and give you the impression that you are flying.
Walking around with a gun stock in pavlov or exploring thr map in population one would be soo immersive and such an experience. You could keep running in one direction whilst looking around your surroundings for enemies, could be quite an advantage
That’s really cool! And “*INTENSE SNIFF* oh it has that carpet smell” I would first play in my room because I have a smaller room that I’m getting used to playing very in. And I would play boneworks because of course I would
Answers to questions: 1. I'll probably try Minecraft. Minecraft is game of my childhood and I still play it. I think that it's actually best to have that kind of nostalgia walking with KatVR in your old worlds in VR and see everything as if it was real. 2. I guess that other advantage of that product is actually training during playing games. Lotta people go jogging and then don't have tíme to play. By this way u can practise at your own home. Seems kinda cool to me. 3. I think it breaks it, because you are only at one spot in this reality and walk in other one. It's strange feeling to move and don't move at one time.
If I could walk in vr I would 100% go to Skyrim vr. I’ve always wanted to go hiking in that game. I believe that the biggest benefit to this is getting lost in these games like they were originally intended. At least for me, when I play a game or jump into vr it’s to forget about the real world for a while. So being able to be more immersed is a big win. And yes using the joystick breaks Emerson. Especially in vrchat where you have the joystick sometimes mapped to make faces on the avatar you’re using or it makes weird hand gestures that breaks the illusion when looking into a mirror.
If i had something like this I would probably first experiment it with VRChat, to test out first the functionality of the locomotion as well as the full body tracking as I have wanted to try out full body tracking, then maybe in games like Skyrim VR or Into The Radius, it would be very helpful since I do have a small play space to work with, but perhaps one of the other benefits of using the locomotion function would be to allow you to use other buttons on your controller as you can free your thumb from the joystick and use it on the other buttons on the controller, kind of similar to how on a console controller sometimes you need to take your thumb off the joystick to press a button on the D-PAD or the ABXY buttons. I will say that I don't find joystick movement a big immersion breaker, but it does still give the slight disorientation when moving around in a game while physically standing still. It would be fun to experiment with this type of movement in VR
1. I would absolutely boot up Skyrim VR once again! Traversing the plains outside Whiterun using this system sounds like a dream. 2. The major benefits IMO are ones that have already been mentioned, being immersion, reduced likelihood of motion sickness, and physical activity. I love that it doubles down on one of my favorite things about VR, that it takes one of my most sedentary activities (gaming) and turns it into an active one. Other than that, I like that this could be a motion solution for hand tracking, since you would no longer need to use controllers on your hands to move. 3. I prefer this kind of system. I can definitely get used to the joysticks, sometimes to the point where I forget they're even being used, but it's just not the same as using my real body.
I would first use it in VRchat because I like the game, it would be a benefit to me since I have very weak bones and in order to make them stronger I have to move my legs but like actually move myself from the ground for at least 1 hour in a row every day. I find it very hard to get any motivation to do so and this would be the biggest help. I think moving with using this product is way more immersive and fun plus it helps my bones get stronger and healthier. That being said I'm a very brave kid and get good grades at school. I wish everyone the best💛👋
Just made an account so I can comment here, I have the same thing with my bones it's so relatable not having any motivation. Although I do not own a VR headset. Have a good day!!
VR is coming so far with this new tech... like when the original rift came out it came with a xbox controller, and now were getting to were you can start to walk in place in realistic games it's just crazy man
Eventually if we keep trying more and more things were bound to find the best option for locomotion lol, If I were to use these I would first try using them in Rec Room paintball to see if I could cognitively move well while being able to use both hands for paintball guns, then maybe take a more scenic walk. As for immersion I would think that the brain would know its not real walking just like teleporting or joystick, however I can very well see it reducing things like motion sickness which would bring you out of immersion, on the flip side of that coin the fatigue from frequent movements might end up making your brain cognitively aware of the trackers. I don't have much experience when it come to making things immersive however if I were to theorize it might just be the lack of realism that makes emersion happen, such as less strenuous controls that would bring your mind out of the game. :)
1: I would play and explore Skyrim! Believe it or not but I have never played Skyrim before, but it would be pretty epic first playthrough if I'm actually able to actually walk around in the world with my own feet. 2: I can think of three benefits 1) Since more and more people are working and learning from home, this would be an awesome way to burn some calories while enjoying your favorite video game. and 2) This will help a lot of people who are prone to getting motion-sick and 3) Overall increases immersion, I feel like a lot of games are held back with the locomotion technology right now, most VR games geared towards casual players usually try to avoid joystick movement because of motion sickness. I think this is one solution that can help us overcome that obstacle without breaking the bank (VR Treadmills) 3: Moving with a joystick is 100% immersion-breaking, unless you already move around in the real world exclusively using a Segway.
Walking in place has never felt natural for me in VR. I tried doing it while using arm swinging with Natural Locomotion, but in the end I just stood there and swung my arms and it was enough to stave off motion sickness while I was still getting used to VR. But I really appreciate how people are trying to bridge the gap between to omni treadmills/slidemills or whatever they're called.
If I had it I would use it to move around in places that I have never seen but have always wanted to see, like places in other countries and famous landmarks that I have seen only online. It would help bring me to those places with way more immersion than just a joystick or teleportation.
1. Skyrim... or the Wasteland of Fallout??? Hard choice. 2. Sort of a positive/negative, it's good exercise I would think, and VERY useful for people that have basically stationary playspaces (like a college dorm). 3. Joystick movement definitely breaks immersion, particularly when it's teleporting... it's convenient, but may even add to motion sickness.
Its really cool seeing all of these new technologies coming out for VR, i bought a quest 2 after working all summer for money and i have had so much fun playing with VR and learning about stuff like this 1. I would probably see how it feels in rec room or other games where i don't have legs just to see how weird it would feel 2. I don't personally feel that it does but I do like physically walking whenever possible
I'd probably try something like boneworks. Being able to actually run in that game would probably take the idea of a physics based body and really push it to a crazy level! Benefits of this to me right off the bat is the intuitivity of using your feet vs using a thumbstick. Running in place makes sense, and it's something I'll actually do for fun while playing games with free locomotion. I don't think stick locomotion is necessarily bad, but most people are not adjusted to that kind of control and I think that initial mind-body disconnection is a massive reason why stick locomotion makes people starting out so uncomfortable

I would want to play any game with natural movement And hopefully make more content in the channel
The first games i'd like to test on KatLocoS would be Skyrim VR and VR Chat to be honest. Maybe No Man's Sky too. Moving with Joystick can break immersion although considering small playspaces it sometimes is best to atleast turn around with the joystick considering you'd maybe otherwise hit a wall and probably break a controller or run against it. I Think KatLoco's are a good way to simulate almost natural movement in VR while having small Playspaces, although I would prefer to walk naturally (have a fairly big Playspace) over Joystic or anything else though i havent tried Treadmills yet, those may be a good option too.
1. Do a very bad hand stand 2. I would walk through a forest in Vr 3. And first game would be Vr chat experimenting with how the rig works 4. It would help with natural movement And possibly making full body cheaper
The future of gaming is Ar and Vr . Looks like day by day new companies are getting into this industry and producing new technology looks like an amazing product.
The future of gaming is VR. AR has too many limiting factors and is way more gimmicky, it could have some use for casual games and apps but that's about it.
I if I could traverse VR with my own legs, I think I would want to experience going to a place I wouldn't be able to in real life. Like another country! One of my favorite things to do that I can really do all that often is just wander around cities and towns I've never been before and just sorta get lost(not alone of course!). So I would probably play something like Google Earth. I believe a benefit for something like this could be exercise! Imagine there being a game/app that is something like a "Morning/nighttime Jog Simulator" where you have a set amount of time or distance to move and have a whole planned out routine! It would help for people who can't (or prefer not to) go outside to actually do that. A joystick breaking emersion in VR really depends on the person and their experience in VR. Some people have been playing like that for so long that it just becomes second nature to them, and there are others who it would break emersion for. It's all situational. Would I prefer it to moving naturally? Again, another *depends* answer. Sometimes I just wanna chill-out in VRChat and just lay or sit down, chatting with my friends! Other times I wanna get up and move! I been sitting down all day, I need to stretch and get some exercise! So it would be nice to have something like this on hand for things like that.
I love how every comment has 1 like on it, it just means people are liking themselves xD Btw this would be great for a dancing VR game I just hope it doesnt take a long time before developers use this, thats always been the downside for me with new technology, the devs updating their games for it
Definitely would try this for horror games. Physically needing to run away from scary things would definitely heighten the fear factor vs pressing up on the control stick.
I'd probably play blade and sorcery with them to take advantage of the basic leg tracking and running locomotion. sounds like it'd be way more realistic than using a joystick
Oh thank goodness there's that cruising feature. For someone like me with bad knees running in place constantly would be a nightmare. I can really see this kind of technology taking off, especially once it becomes more affordable and available down the line. Maybe slime and other trackers will add some kind of locomotion like it too in the future since the differences would mostly be software side right?
I’ve been hyped for a small form of locomotion tech for a while I’m glad to see that It finally exists id probably also wind up doing a review on my yt at some point or on twitch hip locomotion could take game play to the next level as well
This looks great. The only issue I have with all the different VR accessories (Decamove, KAT, Slime, bHaptics etc) that all have their own softwares which you have to use to start the games that supports them. As they are all independent you cant combine them for a better experience. I love VR and how it continously evolving. Great channel btw. Keep up the good work
When you think that full body tracking is mad until you see the KATS locomotion tractors. Here's something that really blows your mind how technology has gone so far and still innovating. The first game I would jump onto would be Payday 2 seems that has VR support. Personally the benefit with me would help with motion sickness.
Sooo, basicly it will end the sickness you get when you play :D more people to play VR!! Usually i will move like you showed, just for getting better.... it helps so this might be a super valuable thing... MUST buy in 2021 xD
I do an animated Transformers series on youtube called Beast Shorts, It's animated completely in vrchat, these would be fantastic, as I'd have some rudimentary lower body tracking, which would be awesome! To answer the questions. 1: I'd hop right in vr chat and test the full body tracking 2: I don't think the sticks really break immersion (at least for me) but I can understand why it might for others. 3:While gaming I prefer seated play, so stick are what I normally use, but that's just because I have some leg issues, but I'm sure immersion factor would go through the roof.
I never have time to get out much having 2 kids with special needs. So anytime i can hop in VR and take a break in another reality its great! Im always looking for that extra immersion and this just might take the cake :) thanks for sharing!
1) without a doubt I'd jump into Skyrim with some 4k texture mods and make that. May daily run! Nothing like waking up to run in the fields of Whitrun! 2) running in VR could really add legitimacy to VR FPS games as an E-sport. 3) thumb sticks aren't ideal but they work well for day to day games.
Could you buy when the slimeVR full body trackers are coming out the most expensive set of them and test them, I'm interested how the 10 trackers would be placed and if it would be worth it to buy it instead of the cheap version.
Yes one more thing to bring that Ready Player One experience to a home, things are looking forward in the VR World this year, I'm still new to VR I used to have VR cardboard and I thought it was Awesome but when I got my Quest 2 I seen a handful of options for playing games in VR with a new light and having Locomotion VR it will bring that light more closer to a Ready Player One in my home.
@@TheDragonfriday but if you think of it that movie inspire more people to get VR and body tracking just to feel like there are somewhere else it is better that what going on in this world today and more fun especially if you're antisocial like me, playing in VRChat with people got me to be less antisocial that the power of VR.
If I had this locomotion, The first thing I would do is see how fast I can go and go to a open field in like vrchat and just run, I would first test half life alyx. boneworks, and blade and sorcery. Benefits are exercise and more emersion, also u could like hold something and walk at the same time. My opinion is joystick sometimes break emersion.
Okay, hear me out. First I would like to use it for PavlovVR or onward to act like a full commando. I think it could have an advantage over other players. Then VR chat to show of my dance moves. Then blade and sorcery to kick people In the nuts! I believe this technology does help with immersion and prevention of motion sickness. it could be advantageous in FPS games and social apps, However I do not believe it is the way forward in locomotion. This is also a step forward from joysticks with pesky teleportation. Thanks mystical once again great vid 👍✌🏻🤙🏻
If I could traverse VR on my own legs, I would first likely test it in VR Chat or a similar application because that is the first game that comes to mind that involves a lot of moving around that I play the most. I get quite bad motion sickness with smooth locomotion and maybe trying something like this could help negate that. That is my hope anyway and seems to be the main benefit of something like this. Moving around with a joystick in VR is definitely not particularly immersive compared to more natural motions however it is less exhausting leading to longer player times than running on the spot. But in people like me, it can cause a lot of motion sickness, especially after a long session.
The first game I would try would most likely be skyrim and I would love to walk around its beautiful landscapes. As for the benefits of this method of locomotion, you would certainly have an easier time getting in shape so for me that's a big plus
If this really is capable of reducing the MOTION SICKNESS a lot of us playing VR are experiencing then this is definitely a must-have. I believe they managed to do an amazing job creating a device that can both let you move in VR more realistically and be non-intrusive. The downside with treadmills for VR is that they can take A LOT OF SPACE and only a few of us can afford to have that kind of space in their home, I would also add that the MONEY variable can also be a problem. With this locomotion system, they managed to make a budget-friendly~ish way of moving around, and having full body tracking to some extent, that will definitely help us with whats coming to VR (I really want that facebook multiverse, okay?^^) ps: to answer the last question, I'd probably go into Skyrim VR which was my favorite game in "2D", I didn't really enjoy the moving around in the vr version but I believe with the right tools, it can be one of the best worlds you can explore in VR 😻(Khajit)
Well once I was done sniffing the carpet, I would love to take a run in the epic world of skyrim and for a cool down I would stroll through the wastelands of Boston in fall out 4. It would be such great excersise to walk around these huge maps!! I also would use it to run from ghosts in phasmophobia hahaha then back to the rug my nose will go 👃 🐽 🤥
1.) I would definitely test them out on VR chat, Zenith and Orbus. 2.) There are many benefits....main one being health wise because you will always be moving. 3.) Yes I believe moving around with the joystick disrupts vr emmersion. However joysticks have their pros also. I myself would prefer being able to move around myself in VR and when I am exhausted I wouldn't mind switching to the joystick.
Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight...in virtual reality while wearing full body tracking? Can't wait for a quest 2 standalone version @katVR
I am currently at university studying geology and anthropology. One of the things that I love so much VR, especially during these times of pandemic, is that I can still visit volcanoes and archeological sites. Full body tracking would make things so much easier in my tiny apartment.
Katvr really making some awesome products, looking forward to see what else they will create!

1 - VRchat, it would boost immersion like crazy!
2 - It'd be great for animation purposes.
3 - This is a great tool for immersion and for creators. (Game devs and animators alike)
Vr locomotive should be safe.
Would love to roam in gta
And i preffed walking as it feels natural. So something like smart shoes will be great.
Me too
I also will prefer shoes
Maybe!
Sheesh! This man bout to win this

I sometimes get motion sicknes with teleporting or moving around with joystick. so if i could use my legs i would go on an adventure in skyrim vr!
1. I try to play vrchat (maybe a dance ;)
2. Sport in vr, big benefit for a health life.
3. I don't like joystick

1.half life alyx like this would be great just walk where you gonna go instead of teleporting
2.it would be a bit more immersive and it would also be great for burning some calories
3.joysticks doesn't ruin the immersion but this is that little bit extra immersion that will make vr more appealing to more people
1. Id probably first tedt the game to get my body used to it before just wanting to test it out everywhere I can
2. I feel like some benefits of the Kat VR would be say crusing as he did or helping with immersion but add the other full body stuff and you can do a lot that they can for a smaller price
Some of which I
Kinda embarrassing but I've tried aprilTags, MocapForAll, and still use OwoTrack, lets say I'm just like in your shoes! Just not that big and don't do coverage myself, but I love tech!
If I could walk around in any virtual space I’d walk around in Journey Of The Gods for that full VR zelda-like experience! I think it would be miles beyond the regular analog stick movement.
1. It would be could to play sandbox games
2. lots of benefits like exercise and makes games mor realistic

From what i learned first hand is:
1-it won't work on standalone quest games, and pcvr games need some minor previous setup
2- the action of jogging can be a bit imprecise if the sensors on the ankles move from all the jumping, which happens to me quite frequently
what i've learnt is that i can jog like if i had the katloco set setup and moving the joystick at the same time and it's the same experience if not better.
You don't lose anything so try it out, this way i can strafe or backpedal without 0 input lag and for someone who get really motion sick i get more inmersed and 0 motion sickness
Drawbacks is i end up very tired
This would be great in Google maps. Just take a stroll through any location anywhere in the world whenever you like.
Or GTA V. You will pretty much be minicking the characters movements!
These may not be available now but this is only the start!
This can only add to the immersion in VR as you add another dimension into the game.
9:10 that's quite the wood cutting technique
I am a brave man so I haven't played Pavlov until the age of 18.
1, I would first try Vrchat, and right after I would buy Boneworks.
2, Finally I could get rid of motion sickness, it will feel more natural.
3, Like Pavlov, it feels so weird to use joysticks to move, and I think it could be one of the best products for all fellow valve index users, so Good luck everybody!
You're a true hero! We need more of you around xd
Insane!
@@hk0213 Thank you 😂
@@FriendlyBBQ Yes i am!
You truly deserves to win bro!
Here are my answers:
1. I would love to see how the Boneworks physics engine works with full body tracking and
locomotion and how much it compares to a joystick!
2. I believe that the Kat locomotion could do wonders for hospital patients and could
work as physiotherapy and entertainment for people who cant go and explore the real world.
3. Personally I find that it may be true that joysticks break immersion
but experiencing new things and new ways to play is what virtual reality is all about right?
“It’s a nice carpet it’s really good” why did I laugh at this 😂
I also think that thumb stick locomotion does make the experience way less immersive
Yeah tbh stride would be my go to game
Stride gives me such adrenaline, I wonder how much better it would be with this kind of locomotion implemented, I can imagine much more immersive but at the same time a huge workout
Pavlov seems a good shout, would be great to know how it feels like running around the warzone
@@trevormanson1802 agreed
This honestly sounds awesome, and it’s definitely one of those things that if you wanted to try something new with VR that this would give you the chance. That being said, here’s my answers to the questions:
1) If I had locomotion in VR, I would test the ropes through VRchat first.
@@DXDgamingsubnow ya the sprinting would be a pain and I'm sure the Devs have not built full body capabilities anyways
I've done the whole attaching phones to my ackles thing 😂🤣😂
Skyrim VR would be amazing with these wandering about for hours! My step count would go through the roof!
I don't have an issue using the stick to move but this is definitely next level!
Horror games would go to a whole new level of immersion with these. They would make games that you move a lot in a lot more immersion as well such as boneworks. I feel that the joystick breaks immersion for sure.
Have you played Resident Evil 7. Nobody who plays that wants more immersion! Lol 😉. But I know what you mean 👍
I can't get over how he looks like he's halfheartedly running away from a mildly threatening thing when he's moving around.
Walking around with a gun stock in pavlov or exploring thr map in population one would be soo immersive and such an experience. You could keep running in one direction whilst looking around your surroundings for enemies, could be quite an advantage
That’s really cool! And “*INTENSE SNIFF* oh it has that carpet smell”
I would first play in my room because I have a smaller room that I’m getting used to playing very in. And I would play boneworks because of course I would
Answers to questions:
Oh man, this would bring my Onward gameplay to a new level !
Wow that's pretty sad that you have to do that bro😥 I just lay down on my couch whole day😂😂

Just made an account so I can comment here, I have the same thing with my bones it's so relatable not having any motivation. Although I do not own a VR headset. Have a good day!!
VR is coming so far with this new tech... like when the original rift came out it came with a xbox controller, and now were getting to were you can start to walk in place in realistic games
it's just crazy man
If a VR locomotive solution could be cross platform with Bluetooth for quest, I believe that eSports could cross over with "real sports" events!
Cool! Thanks for the likes and highlight! Can this be one of the most liked comments? I have a PC to run the giveaway item!😁🙏🏻
I would appreciate it!
I think this is one solution that can help us overcome that obstacle without breaking the bank (VR Treadmills)
3: Moving with a joystick is 100% immersion-breaking, unless you already move around in the real world exclusively using a Segway.
I think that it really kills immersion when you teleport or joystick walk so this will be nice.
Doesn’t kill all the immersion
finally i won’t forget how to walk after using my vr headset for 5 hours
I hate teleportation, but am good with the joystick
If I had it I would use it to move around in places that I have never seen but have always wanted to see, like places in other countries and famous landmarks that I have seen only online. It would help bring me to those places with way more immersion than just a joystick or teleportation.
Using this in Pavlov would be sick
1. Skyrim... or the Wasteland of Fallout??? Hard choice.
2. Sort of a positive/negative, it's good exercise I would think, and VERY useful for people that have basically stationary playspaces (like a college dorm).
3. Joystick movement definitely breaks immersion, particularly when it's teleporting... it's convenient, but may even add to motion sickness.
I've always loved walking in place with vr, this would be amazing.
Its really cool seeing all of these new technologies coming out for VR, i bought a quest 2 after working all summer for money and i have had so much fun playing with VR and learning about stuff like this
1. I would probably see how it feels in rec room or other games where i don't have legs just to see how weird it would feel
2. I don't personally feel that it does but I do like physically walking whenever possible
Man, this seems like a really cool product, I hope whoever wins it has a great time! I sure as heck couldn't afford it, but damn would that be cool.
I would want to play any game with natural movement
And hopefully make more content in the channel
The first games i'd like to test on KatLocoS would be Skyrim VR and VR Chat to be honest. Maybe No Man's Sky too.
Moving with Joystick can break immersion although considering small playspaces it sometimes is best to atleast turn around with the joystick considering you'd maybe otherwise hit a wall and probably break a controller or run against it.
I Think KatLoco's are a good way to simulate almost natural movement in VR while having small Playspaces,
although I would prefer to walk naturally (have a fairly big Playspace) over Joystic or anything else though i havent tried Treadmills yet, those may be a good option too.
Now my lazy self can watch Netflix in vr more immersed
1. Do a very bad hand stand
2. I would walk through a forest in Vr
3. And first game would be Vr chat experimenting with how the rig works
I love how every comment has 1 like on it, it just means people are liking themselves xD
Btw this would be great for a dancing VR game
I just hope it doesnt take a long time before developers use this, thats always been the downside for me with new technology, the devs updating their games for it
Definitely would try this for horror games. Physically needing to run away from scary things would definitely heighten the fear factor vs pressing up on the control stick.
“I do need space, alot of space”, he says in a room with barely any space
I'd probably play blade and sorcery with them to take advantage of the basic leg tracking and running locomotion. sounds like it'd be way more realistic than using a joystick
imagine this and doom vr. would be sick.
The first thing I'd do would be hop into Blades and Sorcery and Sparta kick an enemy into a well, "This is Sparta"
I’ve been hyped for a small form of locomotion tech for a while I’m glad to see that It finally exists id probably also wind up doing a review on my yt at some point or on twitch hip locomotion could take game play to the next level as well
I’m trying to start my channel but I don’t know what to do first
This looks great. The only issue I have with all the different VR accessories (Decamove, KAT, Slime, bHaptics etc) that all have their own softwares which you have to use to start the games that supports them. As they are all independent you cant combine them for a better experience. I love VR and how it continously evolving. Great channel btw. Keep up the good work
I like watching VR technology come along, just can't wait till we get to full dive.
When you think that full body tracking is mad until you see the KATS locomotion tractors. Here's something that really blows your mind how technology has gone so far and still innovating.
The first game I would jump onto would be Payday 2 seems that has VR support.
Personally the benefit with me would help with motion sickness.

I would love to use one of those they seem pretty cool and fun
I do an animated Transformers series on youtube called Beast Shorts, It's animated completely in vrchat, these would be fantastic, as I'd have some rudimentary lower body tracking, which would be awesome! To answer the questions.
1: I'd hop right in vr chat and test the full body tracking
2: I don't think the sticks really break immersion (at least for me) but I can understand why it might for others.
Id like them too it would be cool if the mysticle would give away some on launch day.
If i could traverse in VR, I would just try and do an obstacle course. It would be very trippy, especially if you fall.
I find it sad that movie people can think of when they see vr ;-;
@@TheDragonfriday but if you think of it that movie inspire more people to get VR and body tracking just to feel like there are somewhere else it is better that what going on in this world today and more fun especially if you're antisocial like me, playing in VRChat with people got me to be less antisocial that the power of VR.
I've been watching your content since (and quite a bit before) I got into VR with my very own Quest 2!
Thanks for your great and honest content.
Like my comment I wanna win
I love all these new options that are appearing all around the place for VR full body and locomotion, its awesome to see!
I also would use it to run from ghosts in phasmophobia hahaha then back to the rug my nose will go 👃 🐽 🤥
Hahahaha. Sniffing the rug, nioce
Funniest comment so far 🤣
imagine playing onward with a force feedback gun stock, the cat loco S and the valve index on your pc with a i9 and a 3090 in it... what a dream!
I have 1/4 of that lol

1.) I would definitely test them out on VR chat, Zenith and Orbus.
2.) There are many benefits....main one being health wise because you will always be moving.
3.) Yes I believe moving around with the joystick disrupts vr emmersion. However joysticks have their pros also. I myself would prefer being able to move around myself in VR and when I am exhausted I wouldn't mind switching to the joystick.
Mysticle: “Next comes the setup which was actually super super simple”
Me: bet I could still fuck it up massively

Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight...in virtual reality while wearing full body tracking? Can't wait for a quest 2 standalone version @katVR
This is awesome
I am currently at university studying geology and anthropology. One of the things that I love so much VR, especially during these times of pandemic, is that I can still visit volcanoes and archeological sites. Full body tracking would make things so much easier in my tiny apartment.
