Canada Trip Day 6: Leaving Gabriola Island & riding on the "Sea-to-Sky Highway" in British Columbia

- After a great ride around Gabriola Island I made my way back to the mainland and started riding deeper and deeper into the interior of British Columbia and finally found a great campsite at the end of the day next to a beautiful stream. What a great day!
This video is part of a 24 day road trip that will take us from my home in Northern California, up to see my sister Janet in the town of Smithers, British Columbia, (which is approximately 1000 miles North of the U.S. Border) while camping as much as possible along the way.

I spent the last 5 years living on Vancouver island and Vancouver area and now live overseas. Man, this video gives me so much nostalgia of Gabriola and sea-to-sky and Squamish area. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks and great videos!

That area you ended up at is a great place to ride and camp. Lots of gravel, lots to see, lots of bears.

I can honestly say that that sea to sky highway is up to that point the best ride I have ever been on. I only say that because the next day was even better and I can’t wait to show you that video so stay tune my friend more is on the way. Thanks again for watching 🍻😎
The Sea to Sky highway is one of the motorcycling gems that we have here in BC. Once you get past Whistler and all that hustle and bustle then it really comes into it's own. Such a nice stretch of road all the way to Cache Creek IMO...

Wish I was there riding along too. My Canada ride is 2028. Spring after I retire. I sound like you do while riding in beautiful country like that. Have been told by more than one person, dorkin' out like that while on a fantastic ride is acceptable every time.
I couldn’t agree more lol! The dorkness just overcomes you at some point and you just gotta roll with it. Lol I’m so glad you can ride along on this journey with me, and 2028 is only a few years away so hang in there!

Yep, I am married to Jim’s youngest daughter Kathy. We are on Gabriola right now but heading back home to Calgary on Thursday.
You got me hooked. The route you are on in this video is one of my favourites too . I used to Paraglide and Hanglide in the Pemerton area nothing short of spectacular.
