I only pond fish .. I have 12 different ponds that I fish. Some are large, some are smaller, but each one has unique features. Culverts, overflows, cattails, grass beds, brush, structures, etc. Keep up the great work !!! Tight lines everybody 🎣

I usually boat fish but also live next to a pond and do a lot of quick bank fishing trips.
One tip I try to tell people is with moving baits, liplesses, traps, etc. You need to STOP the bait right before pulling it out of the water, do not rush the end of your cast!
These pond fish know they're pinning that lure against the shoreline and it's not uncommon for them to hit right at your feet. If you crank it in and pull the bait out of the water too prematurely, I guarantee you that you are missing a lot of fish you didn't know were there. I'd say more than 30% of my bank chatterbait fish come this way, some days it's more like 75% depending on the mood and conditions.

I am a Uber and Lyft driver, and I find different community ponds and park ponds as I pick up and drop off passengers all over the area where I live. Nothing more exciting than fishing a new pond, learning it, and catching fish!

Thank you for remembering us bank anglers, most fishing channels don't. Even though I live close to Lake Norman, NC, 90% of my fishing, due to the time that I have available for me to fish, is at local neighborhood and public ponds close to home. This video was very helpful, thank you again!!!!

I am not like most when it comes to bank fishing. I love having all my stuff with me and usually bring 3-5 poles. Can always leave things in the suv if I don't feel I'll need it and then just make the walk back if I do. I'll use whatever it takes to get the job done. Also If I start at one lake or pond then end up going to another it's nice to have the poles and lures to be able to do so. I also rarely go out for short periods of time and am blessed to be able to fish daily if wanted. I'm always looking for better and bigger backpacks for me to load up to be able to carry more. If I'm just going to a small pond I will only bring a few rods and a small bag with pliers, scale, and all my go-to lures. All that being said I have recently gotten into the bfs game and plan on using that a ton. Great video as always!

I’m the same way! My buddy always gives me crap cause I have a 50 lb bag full of tackle and plastics and tools lol
The kastking hawg has served me well! Tons of pockets and pouches, and it can hold 12 3700 boxes plus like 5-6 3600s
Went out for a light trip today, brought 4 rods, 3 3700s in a backpack, and a grocery bag with like 10-12 packs of plastics lol

      @theoriginaltech019 4 місяці тому

I've been looking into that kastking hawg. It's about one of the best options it seems. I figure it would be better to just have most my stuff in it and then take out what I want for where I am all while having the option to go get other items if needed. Lol. I've always just considered it a good workout. @@Bassinngassin

I've been looking into those kastking hawgs. Not many other options so will prolly end up getting one of those to hold the majority and then just grab boxes out and into a backpack. Now just gotta find the right large enough durable enough backpack. I am using a large kastking one now that has lasted a lil over a year and been loaded to the brim but I need something bigger for sure. Love the pockets and padding tho. My dad used to always say something too but he has started bringing more and more as well LOL!@@Bassinngassin

Yes! If I'm fishing a pond, I'll work it over with various baits and techniques. Top to bottom, power to finesse.
I don't get discouraged on tough days like my fishing buddies; I see it as a challenge and opportunity to work on various techniques and utilize my gear. I find it rewarding if I only catch one or two when everyone else comes up with nothing. There have been many days where I'll finish with a drop shot from the bank when my buddies are in their truck begging to go to the next pond. 😆
I know the fish are in there; it's up to me to entice them. All in all, I’m a well-rounded fisherman and have had much more success on larger bodies of water because of my approach to pond fishing.
One more thing: if you haven't tried fly fishing for bass on a pond, you're missing out! It's how I learned to transition into the sport. Bass don't spook as easily as trout. Give it a go!

I have telescopic pruning shears I'll bring with me. That way if a spot is hard to get to I'll clear some brush 😊 these cutters extend to 37 inches. It won't be a head ache to bring to make it easier to get through tough areas to get through. 😊

I fish a couple private ponds that produce well for me, your tips are all good ones and I’d only add that if you do have a long straight section of bank, work it parallel instead of casting out toward the middle and retrieving back. Good place for finesse baits.

More often than not I fish the local irrigation canals that crisscross our city. These canals are lined with cement on the sides and bottom. The only irregularities in these flat-bottomed and flat-sided canals are the safety ladders spaced about fifty to a hundred yards apart.
Other irregularities are the random trash like shopping carts, car tires, and general trash that the slobs in the neighborhoods will throw into these canals. These deviations or irregularities in the otherwise flat canal bottoms or sides don't hold as many fish as one might think.
The over-passes or bridges that run across these canals are a slightly higher percentage areas in these canals.

When you go to a new fishing spot you’ve never been to do you choose lures by one top one under like buzz bait, jig, popper, worm, etc…? And fish it until you find what’s hitting?

Yep! You should have seen what I was dealing with yesterday. It started out great, just myself. Beautiful quiet morning. I have a lovely spot near the edge of some lily pads. So I throw a frog out. 20 minutes later a family with two boys park right next to me. Lots of bickering and whining happening. Then two teen boys show up. They almost immediately get one of their lines caught in a tree. What do I hear next? Loud splashing. They are taking softball-sized rocks from shore and throwing them at their hanging bobber to break the branch. Then the stand-up paddle boarding brigade makes their appearance with crying kids in tow. I wanted to scream.
Why are people so inconsiderate towards others? I grew up with a dad who would make us whisper when we were trout fishing. I’ve got rocks being thrown in the lake and kids crying by me. I packed up and left.

I'd much rather _catch_ from the bank than _catch_ from a boat.
Boats require time, money, space and towing vehicle.
I drive from my apartment to the shore and fish; tackle stays in my small hatchback.
No towing, no boating accessorie$; _failure points minimized._
MOST important --> NO _Boating Hazards!_ 👍
(including jerks on water unaliving others )
Still, I prefer "fishing" from a boat.
