I flatter myself thinking that the angel in the bathroom is a reference to a 13 hour layover I spent with Jewel in Spokane Washington at a greyhound station, sitting cross-legged in the locker room floor near the bathrooms in the dark. She played and we sang together for hours. This was before she was famous ❤️
I used to play this album (especially this song) on repeat on my Walkman while riding my bike at 14/15. Jewel was and still is my very favorite artist. I’m been lucky enough to get to see her perform a few times. Such a spectacular performer.

same here. I fell in love with Jewel when I was 10 years old and heard "who will save your soul" on the radio. Her music brought my dad and I closer. Our arguing always paused when Jewel's music was playing in the background. Her song "daddy" pretty much sums up the last ten years of my life. "go ahead an psychoanalyze that." This song isn't too bad, but her country songs are more annoying than unique.
