    Yes, with seborric dermatitis oil makes it so much worse! I’m almost 4 years and I’ve never oil my scalp just let the natural oils do their thing. I also don’t put anything on my hair other than mousse when I retwist (I don’t spray anything either I just do a high ponytail and shower uncovered so it has the steam). Less is more for me so it may also help to eliminate some of the other sprays or at least keep them away from your scalp.

    Nizoral cured my seborric dermatitis, and using aloe shampoo bars from freetheroots and I have no more flakes, I haven’t had them since 2021. Loc brushing, it can be like you said for flakes, but most use it for distribution of oils on the locs and for getting the surface lint off your locs.

      I used to have prescription strength Nizoral that worked well with consistent use. Key word is consistent lol. Thank you for your comment.

    I will appreciate some guidance on this.

    • @BornMagnificent
      @BornMagnificent  7 місяців тому +2

      Crochet maintenance essentially instantly loc's your new growth. A small crochet needle is used. The finished result resembles palm rolling. Mine aren't too tight because I tell my stylist that I'm tender headed. I hope that explains everything ❤️.

    • @twin1tam
      @twin1tam 7 місяців тому +2

      @@BornMagnificent ok, that explains it. At first i thought that the maintenance was interlocked using the crochet hook.

    • @BornMagnificent

      @savvybygoch crochet maintenance and instant locs use the same tool/method. I don't Interlock because it'll make my locs skinnier over time.

    Your hair is growing real fast too cuz when when I had my loccs for 4 years my hair was not that long. I had mine for 8 years, but your hair texture looks different than mine cuz when you have them all in the front it looks longer than mine but when you have them all in the back it looks barely shorter than mine by like 2-3 inches

    Girl your locs are beautiful. We are on the same maintenance schedule. I got get my hair interlocked every 4 months and i just wash it myself in between. I was retwisting it myself in between and i am not doing that anymore. Less is more i am learning.

    • @BornMagnificent
      @BornMagnificent  6 місяців тому +2

      Thank you so much. Less is more. However, certain hair textures can benefit from a light retwist in between their regular crochet or interlocking maintenance to keep their base stable. Just do whatever works best for you.

    Salicylic acid 3% shampoo may get rid of it. I have seborrheic derm too and monistat got rid of it years ago but I still have flair ups if I put conditioners or oils or anything on my scalp, not knowing. Now I don't put anything, nothing on my scalp but lightly scratch my sebum from scalp to hair and that with the shampoo is all I need to keep it in check.

    • @BornMagnificent
      @BornMagnificent  5 місяців тому

      I've never tried the Monistat trick. I have used the salicylic acid before. It works as long as I'm consistent.

      @@BornMagnificent Yes ma'am. Most people use it for 30 days but mine was soooo bad I had to use it for 60 days. It was GONE for over 12 years but the constant use of STUFF on my scalp cause it to come back on occasion.

    I got my first crochet maintenance done on my locs a couple months ago and I LOVED the results, however, it was painful getting it done. I've never been tender-headed, but that wasn't a pleasant experience for me. If you're tender-headed, you may have an issue with this method. I would love for this to be my primary method, but it won't work for me 😒

    • @BornMagnificent
      @BornMagnificent  6 місяців тому

      The maintenance may have been done too tightly. I didn't used to be tender headed, but I am now. I talked to my stylist about it, and she started doing it slightly looser so that my head wouldn't hurt for the next 2 days.
      Another reason for pain could be your stylist was inadvertently poking your scalp with the crochet needle.
