    Would keeping this plan in a bathroom be good ?

    Thank you for this video!
    Is it normal for the new leaves of crispy leaf ferns to come in thin and straight up?

    Ugh my hubby gifted me a beautiful little Japanese crispy wave a week and a half ago. I watered her 3x already but a few days ago unnoticed something white forming at base and soil extremely dry. So I watered again 2 days later feels bone dry but maybe it’s ok? So I misted heavy tonight. Then I notice the tip of one of leaves is turning yellow 😢 gosh I hope it’s not dying already! I’m going tommorow to buy new little pot, soil and fertilizer

    Thanks for the video! I guess I screwed up watering the crown a few times and 3 or 4 of the leaves have a little bit of black right down near the centre of the crown as a result. Do you think they’ll be okay/is there anything to do other than to change how I water it?

      As long as the crown is not mushy you will be ok. Just make sure to water the sides and not the top and allow for good air circulation. A black leaf here and there won't hurt the plant overall as long as it is not spreading.

    Thank you for this video, good info- but I’ve seen bird’s best is similar but different. But it is the other name you mentioned. Crispy wave.

    Can you use a grow light, maybe at half brightness?

    • @Plantophiles
      @Plantophiles  Рік тому

      Yes of course. That is what I do. You save energy costs. You can just move it closer but not too close. This way you still have the same amount of light to the plants

    They can take any temperature because they grow on walls in the north of England they are indestructible 😊

    I just purchased a wave fern. There is what looks like dirt in the center nest, however there are new leaves growing. Should I do anything?

      No sounds good. Just make sure the center/crown is not wet. It should look brown that is fine

    So they’re epiphytes like orchids?

      @Plantophiles  Рік тому +1

      Yes, you can say so

      @@Plantophiles thank you. I’ve put mine in the bathroom hoping humidity would help. One of them lost many “leaves” and is browning.

    Good information and I appreciate it, but one "subscribe" suggestion is enough; no one needs to hear "click, click, ding" four times.
