Your struggle with English is so enduring. I find myself routing for you because i know that you are working to say words the best your can... It makes me smile and you seem like a good guy. Thanks for making plants cool for guys.
You can add a whole walnut, in the shell, on top of the soil. That should keep out mites. Mites are a type of arachnid and arachnids don't like the walnut oil.
Thank you big boy I have 10 huge birds nest palms planted them when they were tiny and I truly adore them thank you for your tips greatly appreciated from Harare Zimbabwe
Hi, thank you for this infomative video. I have a bird nest fern for about a year. Now its deep green color started to be lighter, the leaves seems drier. Is it dying? How can I help it not to ? I feel really sad for it but do not know what is wrong with it.
I struggle for a while with this plant. I had two lost one.He has recovered nicely. When I brought them they were in a little bad shape. He is outside now chilling loving it.In well lit bring area with temperatures reaching 105 sometimes. I made sure they all be water early in the am.
Yes you can. But make sure it’s not expose to direct sunlight for too long. They can tolerate direct sun but only early in the morning ( about 1-2 hour exposure)In Philippines we grow this fern in a shaded area outside.
Is it my bird nest fern (curly one) death? The leaves fell one by one dry 😪...I removed the last leaf yesterday and now I don't know if take care of the dark center or just throw it away. I wish there was a possibility to revive the plant.
I dont know why but my fern does great amd i never have to water it. The soil is still moist i dont understand🤷🏽♀️its been months thst i dont water it i always check if everything is ok and it is. The leaves are doing great and new leaves are on its way too. What could this be? I dont fertilize it just plain water from tap months ago.😂 this is a magic plant i guess🤷🏽♀️
Is it possible to grow inside of a fish tank with just the tip of the roots inside of the water? The water is well oxygenated and there is plenty of sunlight
@@mairwaugus5203 I keep it in the bathroom where there is plenty of humidity, but I only have one window. If I take it out of the bathroom, where would I put it.?
I wish I saw this video before I watched the prior video that said that the black in the middle means it is better to give up. I tore it off at 2 am thinking that it was dirt and woke up to bugs on the plant
@@BigBoyPlants that’s okay! Thanks for the response. I got it on a regular watering schedule and it’s doing great! Do you know anything about wandering Jews/can you make a video on them? Those have yellow leaves now :(

Oh wow, sorry to hear about your loss. I lost a small birds Nest Fern by watering in the center. Didn't realize it is where new growth emerges.
I left mine outside, the sun burned the leaves. Is there any way to bring it back? Should I cut the leaves off?
I love bird nest fern ❤️🌱
Very useful tips ! Thanks

You are so handsome 😍.
Anyway great and informative video.
What kind of water do you use for watering and misting?

Thank you for the information.
Can this fern be placed in the bathroom for humidity.
I guess it won't have any problems if you keep the good light exposure
Sure! Or you could just get an ultrasonic humidifier.

@@luisabyr3333 mine gets indirect southern light, about 5 feet back from the window. Seems pretty happy. Do you have an east window?

20-30 degrees Celsius?? That can't be right
Mine has brown "things" on the leaves, I thought they were spores. They're on the top of the leaves. Are those some kind of pest?
Hi Susana! Sorry, not sure what to say here. Is it getting too much direct sunlight? I have noticed this also happens with old leaves as well.
@@BigBoyPlants I finally found out what it is: scales 🤢 I have to find out how to get rid of it
