What?! I'm following an electric paramotor forum, they use li-ion packs of 24s 11p that's 88v nominal (100v charged) 4kw batteries and I've read that if you touch those it can be fatal. From 72 to 88 it doesn't seem much difference and from nothing to fatal is quite a long way, so it's surprising to see this video.

Locomotives are 72v dc. Most of the time no shock. 90-100 degree day and those contacts will light you up. Sweaty skin is very conductive.

Not because it’s wet though but because sweat has salt in it which is an electrolyte. Water isn’t a good conductor of electricity. And yes I know you didn’t say because it’s wet. I’m just saying for anyone else

Try using thinner skin ( like forearm ). It does a little bit of tickling =).. using finger it doesn't do much

Fore sure sweaty forearm will feel it below 72v, and since that battery is only 50% charged, its less likely to shock. But using the tips of two dry fingers creates a long pathway. He can lay his sweaty palm across it and he will feel it. Lol.

It’s not the volts, it’s the current that you have to watch out for.
