For anyone that’s reading this thread let me give you a little information. This battery that is in the video is capable of over 20kw. 72 x 400amp BMS equal well you know do the math. I don’t know where this guy got 60 from but I hope this cleared this up from anyone getting confused.
@@itzpogboy I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be multiplied by 72 or 84 because youre only at the top of the charge for so long. You might be right though I’m not taking that from you at all lol. Thanks fo reaching out too

Good question. For starters it would be difficult to get the nickel strips to stick to the tops of a 8v battery. I’m bot sure how rechargeable they are

It’s still being designed. We’re testing it soon. We had to make some alterations to the battery box. Maybe in the future though. We just gotta make sure we build it and test it ourselves before we put it out into the world
Hey, Shouldn't this battery get less range since its 4ah x 6p = 24ah with 72v = 24ah x 72v = 1728wh. While the stock battery is 60v with 34ah. 34ah x 60v = 2040wh.
Unfortunately no. Because the stock surron battery is 60v while this one is 72v. You can’t go up and down unless you have a speed controller that can use both. The stock one doesn’t have that capability
@@jasonhartless3797 yea it’s 6x5 and then you connect the 4 packs or do them as you go. For me it was easier to just do 4 separate packs and then connect them

Hey man I’m going to attempt to to build my first battery. Do you mind helping me out? Also trying to figure out total cost on making a battery capable of 30kw 72v Surron battery… any help would be appreciated man.
@@Mr316jon316around £630-700 for the parts alone, then your gonna need a decent soldering iron and a spot welder. The only 2 things I didn't add to the parts list was heat shrink and padding since they can be improvised (bike tyres and tape)
Hey, Thanks for the instruction. Is there any way to diagnose a completely dead SUR Ron 67v? No screen activity. I hear this battery was left on for 3 months. Now nothing! Any ideas?? Thank you....
There is no way you can discharge more than 80 amps without heating up all the nickels and I'll bet your voltage drop is huge Because u think building high power batteries is a joke Next time use copper busbar for your own safety!
There is an updated short on where I added more nickel strips to handle it. I put more on the whole battery. I had someone else tell me so I added more for safety

Yeah I was thinking that too, now 400 amps on a full charge tho would be 84 x 400 over 30kw

I literally just rode 4 hours from 12-4:30 on the battery today. At 72v the power isn’t as demanding at 60v

Parallel is what you do first , your connections are series connections between the cells. Just thought I would make that correction.
You don’t have to do parallel first , but most people do because it’s easier

You’re going to need a 500 amp BMS and make sure you buy copper strips to install

Never had the pack get warm or had any random turn offs. Checked for hotspots and everything
I’ve had over 10 cycles on this battery as well. Thanks for your input though forreal. I’m not being mean or anything
