Well said! I worked in a college with international students. While many of them are hard-working individuals, the majority did not come here to study. Many are involved in these diploma mills and many benefited from milking them. From agents back home to landlords to abusive employers and colleges that charged them 5x the tuition for garbage business programs. It is time to redesign the whole system to bring the best here. Scandanavia has a good example as international students cannot work while studying. This should be implemented to fix the broken image of the Canadian higher education.
Being an international student, I totally support this. People are coming here after getting 12-13 backlogs during previous degree. Only allow the best of us and no work permit during study just like USA. For an example, allow masters and Phd. students from top 50 universities of Canada. This is your country and please take care of it. Please, don't allow people who are here only because they are not competent enough to anything in their own country.
There is no justification for refugee status applications by Indians. Existing applicants should be asked to change it to other categories or go home. India is not China, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. But in all fairness to them, Canada is at fault too for overselling itself as a great destination for education and quality of life without the infrastructure required for assimilating new migrants. It's not fair now to change the rules of the game retrospectively. Going forward implement the rules but for now allow the ones here to stay not as refugees but migrant workers

Immigration need to be more controlled, what is sad is the number of people reaching out to me (I am an RCIC) asking for "hidden ways" to PR after their study permits and they offer money for job offers. Unless you are of very high ethical standards, you can easily lie to these students and rip them off tons of money. I am very disappointed at other immigration professionals who lie to students and ask them to file for asylum - this is just plain dishonesty as most of these cases will be rejected.

I know as first hand that many of the visitors visa holders got it by bribing an agent in their home country who has connection with the Canadian embassy Staff. Some of them don't even set foot in the Canadian embassy for an interview. When they come as visitor, a local company managed by one own their own community offers them a job then signs the work permit application. They in return pay the manager $30K. Students pathway is the same too. I am not against immigrants because we're all immigrants at some point but I don't like the illegal way of coming in. One of the main factors of our job and housing crisis is this illegal immigration. The government is hiding the illegal nature of many of these peoples arrival

I wouldn't say that immigration through education is a backdoor or scam. You can Google how to immigrate to ... country, and most European and other Western countries will have this option. You can do that in Spain, France, Ireland, Poland, Canada, you name it. But in those countries you have to go to a real university and get at least a Bachelor's degree to qualify. They don't have such a problem with foreign students. Meanwhile in Canada you can get a work permit after "studying" in a strip mall diploma mill for a year or even less.
The problem is that, when potential immigrants see the type of people coming to Canada, they lose motivation and decide to choose a better destination.

Here in Alberta we give up over 14 billion in eqalization payments and Quebec gets 12 of it. Since that's the case why don't you keep the migrants and spend some of that 12 billion on them. I was an international student, studied in one of the reputed universities in Canada. I can share my view on this immigration crisis. What I experienced that many of the programs that were inviting international students, did not care about the quality of the students as long as they are willing to pay. And of course the PR path made those programs lucrative to students whose primary target is setting in Canada. This PR pathway would have been really beneficial to Canada only if they targeted for good quality students, rather than opting for whoever will pay now. India has a lot of brilliant students, but they go to US. Those who choose Canada, mostly they are not qualified enough to compete and gamble with all of their savings in the dream of settling in Canada. And after spending all of their money, when they are getting kicked out, they should feel frustrated. Canada’s short term gain policy made both Canadian and international students suffer a lot.

I have a friend of a certain ethnic background who told me she got her PR with the help of their lawyer of their same background. They will work cash jobs while their lawyer who knows someone who owns a business or agency to make up their job title and salary. Their lawyer sends to their chequing acct ,just like a real salary, to make it seem like they are employed in that particular position. But she said they return the money back to lawyer and thats what the lawyers use to put in her bank account every month. Now shes PR.. so regardless if they change the policy regarding removing low wage temporary workforce or setting the scores high in the job criterion, they will always find a loophole, why because indians owns businesses and indian lawyers here in Canada also help them commit fraud.. I don’t know if i should be happy for my friend who got her PR or get upset because they did it fraudulently

Basically, all of the ug and pg diploma students are just useless. To be honest they are not here for education. My simple question is - how these students even getting students visa? I can assure you even in India these guys will not get a labor job. I just want to have 2-3 years of experience after my degree and then go back to my country. But these diploma students are here only and only for PR. Even, if they stay here I can assure you they are not competent enough to add value to Canadian society and job market as well.

Immigration need to be more controlled, what is sad is the number of people reaching out to me (I am an RCIC) asking for "hidden ways" to PR after their study permits and they offer money for job offers. Unless you are of very high ethical standards, you can easily lie to these students and rip them off tons of money. I am very disappointed at other immigration professionals who lie to students and ask them to file for asylum - this is just plain dishonesty as most of these cases will be rejected.
The students agents are all Indians (Canadian Indians) who went to India to recruit them, in return these agents are getting big comissions.

Students pathway is the same too. I am not against immigrants because we're all immigrants at some point but I don't like the illegal way of coming in. I wouldn't say that immigration through education is a backdoor or scam. You can Google how to immigrate to ... country, and most European and other Western countries will have this option. You can do that in Spain, France, Ireland, Poland, Canada, you name it. But in those countries you have to go to a real university and get at least a Bachelor's degree to qualify. They don't have such a problem with foreign students. Meanwhile in Canada you can get a work permit after "studying" in a strip mall diploma mill for a year or even less.

I was an international student, studied in one of the reputed universities in Canada. I can share my view on this immigration crisis. What I experienced that many of the programs that were inviting international students, did not care about the quality of the students as long as they are willing to pay. And of course the PR path made those programs lucrative to students whose primary target is setting in Canada. This PR pathway would have been really beneficial to Canada only if they targeted for good quality students, rather than opting for whoever will pay now. India has a lot of brilliant students, but they go to US. Those who choose Canada, mostly they are not qualified enough to compete and gamble with all of their savings in the dream of settling in Canada. And after spending all of their money, when they are getting kicked out, they should feel frustrated. Canada’s short term gain policy made both Canadian and international students suffer a lot.
Canadians welcome shutting the door to a flood of Indians coming in, most hardly qualified educationally and unable to grasp the English language. And that's not even talking about French, the other official language.

I have a friend of a certain ethnic background who told me she got her PR with the help of their lawyer of their same background.
They will work cash jobs while their lawyer who knows someone who owns a business or agency to make up their job title and salary. Their lawyer sends to their chequing acct ,just like a real salary, to make it seem like they are employed in that particular position. But she said they return the money back to lawyer and thats what the lawyers use to put in her bank account every month.

I'm an International student at Canada. I'm pursuing masters in Computer science. I don't know what the immigration and visa offices of your country doing. Basically, all of the ug and pg diploma students are just useless. To be honest they are not here for education. My simple question is - how these students even getting students visa? I can assure you even in India these guys will not get a labor job.
I just want to have 2-3 years of experience after my degree and then go back to my country. But these diploma students are here only and only for PR. Even, if they stay here I can assure you they are not competent enough to add value to Canadian society and job market as well.
