I am an immigrant here and in my view the blame should be on immigration policy like what he discussed in the video. If I am a teacher in the Philippines and let me say I applied to be an international student to further my career. Do you think I will go back to the Philippines? The answer is a big NO. We are a poor nation and jobs do not pay well there. People who applied under student visa from my country wants to stay here, probably students from India and Pakistan too. The people who handled these policies knew that and I wonder why they allowed this thing to happen. They spent lots of money to come here and the government duped them.

Thanks Mr. Trudeau; I live in a small NS community that's in truth overrun with East Indian students within the past five years. Our own young people couldn't buy a job here if they wanted one, the East Indians scooped up everything. If you go to any store here it's like we're in India; almost all the employees and shoppers are East Indian, none speaking English which is our language here. Most people here are not comfortable going into our own stores, in our own community anymore. This is not racisim, it's common sense; it's just not a reasonable situation that's been put upon the people here.

Canadian government has to adopt Australian model for immigration and student visa. I lived in Australia and in 2009 indian students protested against Australian immigration policy , Within 6 months of crackdown 1200 low quality colleges were shut down by government and thousands of international students including me were Struggling and left Australia but that was i think good for Australia. Immigration can not be justified as immigration, be it legal or illegal is dangerous and detrimental to its host country and its future generations. So, immigration must be stopped at once. Announce that everyone here with expired visas have 30 days to leave. If they cant atrange to leave within 30 days then they must report to government who will arrange their flights. A student visa is for Studying. Not for permanent residency. Not for citizenship. Not for brining one's family over. Not for working illegally. Student Visa = Study = Graduate = Return to your country to grow your own country. If one paid illegal brokers to get a visa for a job, that is not Canada's fault. If you falsified your Immigration papers to falsify you are coming to study and your family has sufficient funds it is not Canada's problem you have to repay illegal broker loans. Whomever is here past their visa period and working full time instead of continuing with their education, should be deported immediately. This is taking university seats from local Canadians and taking full time jobs away from Canadian legal citizens.

Spouses of international students should not be allowed to work here and international students should not be allowed to work more than 20 hrs. International students who are here for only a one year program like MED should not be given work permit now are permitted for PR. They won’t continue in teaching as they are not skilled to teach kids here. They perceive other professions they are using the program only to get PR. They are coming here not o study but to stay here.They are even using food banks when Canadians who are in need are struggling for food here.

intl students bring their spouse and even do business of spouse to make money. they bring parents and siblings and grand parents. plus parents and siblings of spouse and grand parents. They all come and stay. one students is followed by at least 12 to 15 more in one year.

Firstly your country has a very stupid policy on international students. All most all of them come there for economic reasons. They enroll in stupid courses which in any case will not contribute to your country. Why can’t you have a system where their attendance in classrooms is kept a track of and any one having less than say 75% is warned and after three warnings sent home. Once they successfully complete their course, they are given six months to stay and then sent back. Keep only the ones who can be of asset to Canada. Else your country will soon become another country like the UK is now.

Not like anyone would care but this entire mess is just increasing racism against indians who have moved here ages ago and worked hard, have proper university degrees, etc. My last job had both a punjabi manager and assistant manager, and somehow 70% of the team was punjabi (at one of the big 5 banks). Its ridiculous, and a lot of us are stuck between both sides here.
I agree that the good ones are getting a bad rap based on the bad apples but at the end of the day they need to blend in like every other race that has migrated to Canada for one reason or another… bringing obnoxious cultures and expectations to a host country is unacceptable just like it would be if I brought western culture to the Middle East etc and expected full acceptance.

My family came from Canada from India over 100 years ago we came over here legally we tried to assimilate I think what really bothers me now is that these new international students are giving all of us a bad name most of them cheat on their English exams back in India, and this is a known fact most of them can’t speak English and hence why they fail the colleges here expecting to be passed automatically. they work over 40 hours a week illegally and lie about it The government is subsidizing international students but they are taking jobs away from our students. We paid taxes my entire life and my son applied for over 100 jobs and got nothing because every single job is taken over by international students they are they are abrasive. They came on a student visa and were expected to go home. They are now complaining and protesting at this point they all need to be sent home because this is ridiculous, PR should be handed out as needed not automatically and right now there are so many Canadians without jobs so we don’t need more workers. I also work in healthcare most of the students or their families come in don’t have appropriate healthcare and we end up paying millions of dollars in healthcare bills because of them, we have had families come visit their international students with no healthcare having strokes costing us healthcare workers and the government over $1 million. Government should not have allowed to bring spouses and their children to Canada while they are on foreign students visa. No other countries allowed this. This created a crisis in rental industry. It’s sad how many foreign workers are taking all the restaurant, security, engineering and gas station/convenience store jobs. It’s annoying to be at Wendy’s, BK, McDonalds, A&W or a gas bar/convenience store and see a group of friends/foreign workers working behind the desk, then all of a sudden change their work jacket from (for example) Wendy’s to a Skip the Dish sweater and deliver the food they just made. That tells me the system is failing or people are getting paid cash under the table. It’s time for these big companies and the government to step in and stop this. There is multiple examples in my smaller city in a daily basis so I can just imagine how often this happens in bigger cities. Mean while local Canadian born and raised people and their kids can’t get jobs. Stop subsidizing these foreign workers at the very least or donor to all of us. That would put a stop to at least have of it.

I work in a food bank and see many international students taking food from Canadians. This is not supporting themselves. Thousands either quit school or failed and then demanded citizenship. International students who are here for only a one year program like MED should not be given work permit now are permitted for PR. This is the reason "WHY EVERYONE" here in Canada is suffering this time. Majority of young Canadian citizens are now unemployed, they couldn't find a job anymore as Temporary Foreign Workers and International Students already got all the jobs available. This is really too unfair for the Canadians.
My family immigrated to this country 2 decades ago, the decline of the quality of education, healthcare and other social aspects have been tremendously impacting everyone. This have had happen within the last few years and it is sickening.

Firstly your country has a very stupid policy on international students. All most all of them come there for economic reasons. They enroll in stupid courses which in any case will not contribute to your country. Why can’t you have a system where their attendance in classrooms is kept a track of and any one having less than say 75% is warned and after three warnings sent home. Once they successfully complete their course, they are given six months to stay and then sent back. Keep only the ones who can be of asset to Canada. Else your country will soon become another country like the UK is now.

My last job had both a punjabi manager and assistant manager, and somehow 70% of the team was punjabi (at one of the big 5 banks). Its ridiculous, and a lot of us are stuck between both sides here.
I agree that the good ones are getting a bad rap based on the bad apples but at the end of the day they need to blend in like every other race that has migrated to Canada for one reason or another… bringing obnoxious cultures and expectations to a host country is unacceptable just like it would be if I brought western culture to the Middle East etc and expected full acceptance.

My family came from Canada from India over 100 years ago we came over here legally we tried to assimilate I think what really bothers me now is that these new international students are giving all of us a bad name most of them cheat on their English exams back in India, and this is a known fact most of them can’t speak English and hence why they fail the colleges here expecting to be passed automatically. they work over 40 hours a week illegally and lie about it The government is subsidizing international students but they are taking jobs away from our students. We paid taxes my entire life and my son applied for over 100 jobs and got nothing because every single job is taken over by international students they are they are abrasive. They are entitled, they cannot seem to understand how assimilation works. They are so entitled and they feel they can protest out in the streets when they dont get PR. They came on a student visa and were expected to go home. They are now complaining and protesting at this point they all need to be sent home because this is ridiculous, PR should be handed out as needed not automatically and right now there are so many Canadians without jobs so we don’t need more workers. I also work in healthcare most of the students or their families come in don’t have appropriate healthcare and we end up paying millions of dollars in healthcare bills because of them, we have had families come visit their international students with no healthcare having strokes costing us healthcare workers and the government over $1 million. We don’t have the infrastructure for these students to stop. The government needs to stop subsidizing. The government needs to stop handing out PR like they’re handing out candyscamin India and here charged enough is enough. I will def be writing to my politician

I live in a building in Vancouver, just lately they fired good workers and hired these immigrants. So they were having fun on their computers and I was washing clothes, asked them to help, they wouldn't look nor give back my money I lost. Their excuse was it wasn't their job to help me. Unreal .I am sick of it.

I worked in a college that admits international students. Many of them came here with fradulent documents and cannot speak English trying every possible way to cheat and exploit any system. I am an economic immigrant and I feel betrayed.

I have seen students bringing their parents and relatives to Canada on visit visas and they were working illegally in big corporations and leave every 6 months and come to continue that! While some Canadian citizens aren’t able to bring their parents for life events such as having a new baby (like me)!!!
Thank you for sharing the truth on our immigration crisis and issues related to the foreign students. Government should not have allowed to bring spouses and their children to Canada while they are on foreign students visa. No other countries allowed this. This created a crisis in rental industry. They started draining our resources such as rental, school, healthcare…etc. no student should be allowed to work in any of the industries. They are taking away Canadian citizens jobs. In last 2 years I have spoken with many Canadian students and they are unable to find summer employment. This has to be stopped. Wake up Canadian politicians and government.

It’s sad how many foreign workers are taking all the restaurant, security, engineering and gas station/convenience store jobs. It’s annoying to be at Wendy’s, BK, McDonalds, A&W or a gas bar/convenience store and see a group of friends/foreign workers working behind the desk, then all of a sudden change their work jacket from (for example) Wendy’s to a Skip the Dish sweater and deliver the food they just made. That tells me the system is failing or people are getting paid cash under the table. It’s time for these big companies and the government to step in and stop this. There is multiple examples in my smaller city in a daily basis so I can just imagine how often this happens in bigger cities. Mean while local Canadian born and raised people and their kids can’t get jobs. Stop subsidizing these foreign workers at the very least or donor to all of us. That would put a stop to at least have of it.

Well, Brian, if you think that Canada has been overrun with interlopers swarming into your country then take into consideration what it’s like here in Australia. In January 2014, there were 540,000 people in Australia on an education visa. But by December 2019, this number had skyrocketed to be 955,000. Due to the emergence of Covid early in 2020, culminated with the number of ISs in Australia being reduced to 700,000 by the end of April, which obviously remained static until the borders were reopened on Nov 3, 2021.
In the ensuing 6 months under the incumbent LNP government, until it lost office to Labor early in May, there would be a net-increase of 120,000 ISs in Australia, totaling around 810,000. But in the ensuing 2 years under labor the net-increase the number of ISs peaked at a nudge over one million interlopers here at 1,055,000.
This number is broken down to be 750,000 students enrolled in tertiary courses; 200,000 undertaking vocational education training [VET/TAFE] courses; 70,000 in English training colleges, and the rest are enrolled in primary and secondary schools. Apropos to VET/TAFE these courses entail very dodgy activities from fashion design and decorating abodes to cooking/catering. The VAST percentage of people enrolled in the later categories, which accrues to being about 75% of theses facets are from India and the Subcontinent.
In order to demonstrate just how much Australia has OVERDOSED on ISs at tertiary levels is to compare the 750,000 studying here in comparison to the US, which has a tad UNDER 1.3 million foreigners in comparable institutions. So, considering the US has a population (which doesn’t include the 15 million illegals) THIRTEEN TIMES that of Australia means that it should have at LEAST nine million foreigners studying in its dominions to be on-par with Australia.

Sorry we haven't got enough housing for Canadians already here. The International students must pay their way and then go back home to start new educated lives. I work in a food bank and see many international students taking food from Canadians. This is not supporting themselves. Thousands either quit school or failed and then demanded citizenship. I'm outraged. There are many issues that must be dealt with asap.

I’m so angry because citizens are dying because of many hours of wait times for emergency surgery! I almost died waiting 13 hours for multiple twists in my small intestine and lost 127cm of it! I was lucky, but others aren’t so lucky! This is the worst Canada has ever been and this gov’t. is still piling foreigners in….even when they lost count of about one million🤬🤬🤬

When I went to McGill 40 years ago I couldn’t even work on campus until they were satisfied no Canadian student could do the job. And I had to pay tuition up front and buy health insurance. Things have changed so much!
