The Weißwurst is a regional Bavarian specialty and not typical for all Germans. Waffles with powdered sugar are not a real breakfast here; We usually eat them in the afternoon with coffee or tea. But what is very typical is the bread or rolls with butter, cheese or sausage. We offer around 3,200 types of bread and 1,500 different types of sausage for toppings. There are now more and more vegan sausages and cheeses. Of course there aren't 3200 different breads in a single store, every region and every baker has its own recipes and the bakery has a manageable number of breads so you don't go crazy.😵💫 By the way... if you ask a German living abroad what food they miss most, the answer is always bread!😅
We usually dont't have waffles or pancakes for breakfast in Germany. Waffles are for the afternoon. Pancakes are actually more of a lunch/dinner dish and are thicker than the ones that were shown in the video (which look like French crêpes), however not as thick and small as the American ones.
Common breakfasts ? Yes and no. Similar but different. Oatmeal for Brits is not like that at all. Germans have a million different types of bread with its own distinct texture and flavour. This is the fist I’ve hear of actual chocolate on bread too. Chocolate spread is common on bread, but not actual chocolate. Etc So while it might just seem common, it is different
