These methods apply to almost all wheel finishes: clear coated, powder coated, anodized and even polished. We will clean the wheels and tires and thoroughly prep the wheels to receive the wheel coating. The wheel coating is a wheel specific ceramic coating that has a great endurance to high temperatures.
Having wheels that are protected by a ceramic coating helps keep them cleaner thanks to the coating’s self-cleaning capabilities. Also, it protects against brake dust and facilitates regular washing. And unlike other conventional rim protection solutions, a wheel coating is resistant to more aggressive cleaners.

Thanks Rachel!!
Just used the Gyeon Iron the other day. My wheels were BLEEDING purple. So much so I thought I somehow pierced the brake line and it was brake fluid leaking down haha crazy product! Great video Pan as always!!
Thanks Kaitlin!!
Not even 1 minutes in and it's already liked. Great Video Pan. Just what I needed for my new car.
Thanks for your support John!!

Awesome video Pan,the wheels always look a lot better clean when this way is done.
Yup!
Good sponsor and another great system for wheels. Systems are the a must.
Thanks Patrick!
Love it! Thanks Pan!
Thanks!
I've used Chemical Guy's Wheel Guard to protect my rims on my car. It's like a paste, or even looks like wax that would come in a jar. It goes on easy, and must stay for 15min I think. It gives a high shine, helps prevent water spots, and brake dust from sticking. It also makes cleaning the rims easier.
P.S. I'm a detailer too.
Great video again Pan! Planning to coat my new wheels. (new car arriving end of March). I've already wrote the steps down from your previous video's. Only difference is that I'm going to coat them With Carpro D'lux. :-).
Thanks!
Nice job Pan again, and you make a great videos! I like a Gyeon products and I will apply a Q2 Rim into my white Civic Type R Enkei wheels too for a summer season. I'm very curious on finish look. :) I'm looking forward to the next detailing video from you. Have a nice rest of day. ;)
Thanks Michal! Have a great weekend!
Always always Exceptional !
Thanks!
You are the best person that I’ve soon, on making your vehicle stay looking good, I have an Lexus, Silverado, and Cadillac truck, all look very clean, thanks to you, keep up the great work, I wat h all your videos, all the time, one other thing, I purchased an pressure washer too !! Thank you

Now I’m washing the cars better then before!

That’s my man ! Wish I could give you an extra thumbs up for the big Paaan ! 🤘🏼 awesome video
Hehe thanks! 💪🏻👊🏻
The first time. Had all four wheel on the kitchen floor for two days. Used the car pro system. Lots of prep work. But results outstanding. I just use spray know to refresh
👍🏻

That's an awesome video and a great help as I plan to do ceramic coating of my brand new winter wheels.
Thanks! Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on UA-cam as we surpassed 825,000 subscribers and 100 million views! I have been detailing for 25 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.

I also made a video of a wheels off wheel coating here: ua-cam.com/video/3LCQ0g589pM/v-deo.html
Such a great content...thanks pan once again..
Thanks kunal!
Thank you !! 👏😊
I have used - TEC 582 CERAMIC DETAIL SPRAY , bead maker and meguiars detail spray.
I would one of them during the maintenance wash.
Depending on what I have had available during the detail. That’s the products I’ve used to protect the car and rims.
I really like the video you made on ceramic coating on the paint and wanted to ask about the rims :-)
Thanks John!
Hi Pan, very interesting video. Well appreciated. As you request, I'm using Carpro Quartz DLUX for my cars wheels & calipers. For maintenance I'm using Carpro HydrO2 as a rinse off coating. I'm doing so on the winters & summer wheels. I'll soon do the winter black summer wheels soon so they will be all ready for next summer. Thanks and have a nice day detailing the cars you loved. Frank
Thanks François!
Great tutorial Pan!
Thanks!
Good information... Thanks brother 👍
Thanks Deepak!
Thank you 🙏 good video 👍🏻
Thanks!
Thanks Pan!!! Your channel is awesome! Really great to see some CarZilla links, they are amazing and that is where i get all my detailing supplies. I watch your videos then rush down there for the products! Keep up the awesome videos!
Thanks!!!
Carzilla for the W!! Another secret gone! There shipping and lack tax for CDN buyers makes it the best source for all of Pans mentions. Had two deliveries this week and my car isn't out of storage for 6 more weeks!!
As always great review pan
Thanks!
Great how to video, definitely giving me ideas for new how to videos on my Channel.
thanks!
Love the vids Pan! I'm looking into applying Gyeon on some new wheels I got but I noticed the wheel finish on the spokes have a sorta sandpaper finish to them versus a smooth finish, could the Gyeon still be applied with no problem?
I just bought a F80 M3. Perfect timing to learn how to properly take care of its wheels.
Congrats on the M3!
I hope you watched my black BMW M3 detailing video? Here: ua-cam.com/video/OjQavIEiWlM/v-deo.html
Pan TheOrganizer..I did indeed. That video was the reason for subscribing. Keep up the great work.
Recently bought some new alloys so I had the luxury of being able to coat them before putting on car. I used CarPro Dlux and they have been maintaining them with hydro 2. Gloss is insane! Definitely agree it’s not as difficult as people may think, if I can do it anyone can 👌🏼
There you go! Great choice of coating too! :)
Nice video pan thanks.will check it out. have you did a review on the mcculloch steam cleaner mc1385?
Yes, here: ua-cam.com/video/v_vbuUogjd4/v-deo.html
Another great and informative video.
On a side note, you blasted past 200k subs like it was going backwards ! 😁
👊
Thanks Rui!
Great 🙏
Thanks!
I purchased Sonax Spray and Seal for topping up protection on my wheels, think I've seen you use it before too, should I consider switching to Wet Coat?
Thank you for bringing PAAAAN the organizer back. I really miss this gimmick. :-)
💪🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice work! Your rotors lookto have some scoring-time to get some nice slotted and/or drilled ones to up your appearance!
Yeah I don’t know if that’s normal. The car is only 10 months old with 10,000km. Mostly highway driving. All my previous cars did that too (BMW 435i, Audi S5). I’m wondering if that’s because of the insane Canadian winters?
Thanks for the paaaaaaannn intro love it
😂👍🏻
Any advise on restoring or managing wheels with some oxidization? Bought a new vehicle and the Helo wheels that are on it need some work.
Nice
Thanks!
Hey Pan, I am wondering if you can get your hands on any Poorboys products? Such as their glaze & their multitude of polishes, etc.
Thanks for another great video, did you coat the inner barrels of your car?
With a spray-on, rinse coating (Gyeon Wet Coat) as this video focused more on showing how people who don’t have the equipment to do a wheels off treatment can still coat the faces of the wheels, and then use Wet Coat for the barrels.
Full gyeon detailing video next?😜 actually not found a singel video with full detailing only using gyeon.
Great video🤩
Thanks!!
Pan, I have wheels that are gloss black and clear coated that I want to apply a ceramic coating to. In addition to the steps you've outlined in your video, I would also need to polish them due to some light scratches that are very noticeable due to the gloss black paint. What is your recommendation for wheel polishing? I was going to go with some small polishing heads that attach to a drill but I wanted to see what you thought. Thanks for all you do.
Hi, Pan is it advisable to get PPF from the factory before it gets ceramic coated outside?
looks like a good cleaning process for my forgestars coming in! you always change products too hahaha so i always do whatever you are currently doing🤣
Heheh thanks for watching Jamie!
Pan TheOrganizer of course!! btw do you know if the ceramic coating would be safe to use on a satin black finish? verde axis wheels lol my friend got them for her lex but i didn’t know if she could use the same coating as me or not
CarPro DLUX and Gyeon Rim can both be used on satin finished wheels.
Excellent video!!! Learning a lot from all your materials. Thank you! I have one question, please. I have seen some videos where the iron remover was the first step of the cleaning process. Is there a rule , or, does not matter ?
The general consensus on paintwork is wash, iron remover, clay, machine polishing, IPA and then coating. Same would apply to wheels. You can skip claying and polishing if they’re in a good state.
Thanks to your wealth of knowledge Pan , I purchased at the Gyeon wheel cleaning products. I will tackle them tomorrow assuming it will require at least 3 hours. My wheels are deep dish 2019 Camaro LS1 wheels , and I still have not been able to find a long enough barrel brush to agitate the brake dust off of them without thrashing my knuckles.Any recommendations? I have the Karcher pressure washer but feel I need more reach with a long brush. Your expert opinion appreciated. BTW, this video is awesome!!
Ez detail brush will do. The big one!
The WoollyWormit or Speed Master brushes (EZ Detail is the same). Both do extremely well on my 20 inch BMW wheels.
Here's my WoollyWormit video: ua-cam.com/video/E7r-N6au-RE/v-deo.html
Here's my best wheels brushes video: ua-cam.com/video/siZhhnve-84/v-deo.html
hey, love the longer Pan introduction!!! keep it going, maybe a bit longer!!! Lol!
Thanks!
@@PanTheOrganizer hey,by the way can you do a video on Gliptone, they have a GT quartz ceramic line.
Gyeon has Such a beautiful line of attractive quality Products. You drive your car in our winter? Thank you for this Video Pan.
Yes I drive it all year round. It’s so well taken care of that you can’t tell it’s been through winter. Plus, if I pay that much for a car, I have to enjoy it every day. ;)
@@PanTheOrganizer
Oui,,, good ⭐️ surement beaucoup plus confortable pour passer un bel hiver!! It must be magical to watch the powder snow just Glyde off the surface. Pan, all this safe on aluminum wheels / Chrome bumper?,
Have you done raw polished aluminum wheels ? If so what products do you use
The rims look great on your car!
Thanks!
Hi Pan, i'm from Asia, been following ur detailing video for sometime.. its awesome and u did a great video on detailing vehicle up tot the tiniest detail.. After seeing ur video above on how to perform coating on wheel rims makes me eagerly to try out this Gyeon as well.. But, i have an issue, my rims have water spot.. Should i use Gyeon water spot remover first? Kindly advise which step i need to use before done the coating.. Your advise is much appreciates.
Yes try a water spot remover first, that's the less aggressive method. If that still doesn't work, you will have to polish your wheels.
Great video! I did my wheels last year using GYEON Q2 RIM EVO and was very pleased. I opened the bottle about six months ago. Can I use the product on another vehicle, or does it have an expiration date?
Normally, once opened, coatings are good for 1-2 months at best.
Amazing video as always! Merci beaucoup! If I decide to clay the wheels do i have to apply polish or can i just go straight to the prep-step ( wipe with Prep and apply coating)?
Clay is typically abrasive, so after claying we typically polish. Have a look at the surface after claying. If it looks good to you, you can skip polishing and go to the paint prep step with an IPA or Gyeon Prep, CarPro Eraser, etc. And then you apply the coating.
Also, see my full wheels off detailing tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/3LCQ0g589pM/v-deo.html
Hey pan I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on the optimum clear coat restorer
I haven’t tested it yet but I hope to soon.
Once again Pan you have knocked it out of the park. My summer wheels are sitting in the garage and now I want to coat them! I have a question though, it looks like someone marked the wheels with a marker on the barrel to signify right, left, front and rear. How would you suggest to get this off of the barrel? Thanks again Pan, and keep up the great work.
Citrol266 :)
Pan TheOrganizer are there any precautions I should take before using this?
It can break down older waxes or sealants, but a non issue as you’re using this on wheels. Just thoroughly rinse after use. That’s it. Great to remove tar and glue residue, even bugs!
I did a video about it for use on bug splatter here: ua-cam.com/video/ITRC8bNJkHE/v-deo.html
Can you please make a video on how to wash a vehicle with rust? I have a Silverado I’ll be washing here soon and it has some rust on the bedside.
Hey Pan, thanks for the videos! I love your channel. Quick question for you... I just applied Carpro DLux on my rims and calipers, how long should I wait before driving the vehicle? I know it says to not get wet for the first 24 hours, but do you have any recommendations or guidelines as far as how long to wait before it gets driven? Any help is appreciated!
24 hours after application you can start driving the vehicle as usual.
Thanks for the quick reply Pan! You're the man!
Great how-to Pan!
One question; is it ok to use on the rest of the cars painted panels? (I have half of a bottle left that I don't want to go to waste)
No. This is a rim application.
Love the videos I was curious about using simple green on wheels and tires have you ever tried or heard of this product?
I have not tried that.
Pan TheOrganizer
curious of your thoughts. cleans up really well on mud break dust and road grime but not sure how to tell if it’s bad or ok to use on them. Is there specific properties you look for to make your decision?
I can't wait to spend $500 on these products to clean my wheels YAY
Thanks for the detailed review! I used Rim about 3 weeks ago and have to say it does it’s job. I’ve never used Wet, so curious if there are any concerns on overspray on the rotors? Thx.
Thanks! No concerns for Wet Coat.
Pan TheOrganizer great thx! I’ll get some on order! Anything that makes cleaning wheels easier, I’m in! 👌
👍🏻
So I guess you could say it was a..... Rim job
Any discount coupon codes? I was thinking of getting some Gyeon products from Carzilla. Really great content!
Carzilla in Calgary is awesome to order from. No discount codes I know of though sorry.
Can a brake repellent spray be added onto a coated wheels like these ones?
can you use this on chrome rims??
Would like your opinion on the difference between gyeon wet coat and carpro hydro lite 2. I've been using the hydo lite2 and it's pretty good and the longevity is outstanding.
Pretty similar in terms of application, performance, durability, gloss...
Good to see a new vid Pan.
Thanks Daiymian!
Can you use on matte rims?
Very good, can the protector be use on chrome also?because the edge of my rims are chrome
Yes it can be applied to chrome, and also various wheel rim types available on the market, e.g. wet painted, powder coated, anodized or polished.
I want to do this to a set of wheels that have a matte finish. Will this product make them shiny, or will it keep the original look to them? Great video by the way!
It will keep the original matte look, just a richer, nicer finish. Don’t worry, it won’t add gloss
Pan, if you wanted to top your newly coated wheels or paint, how long do you have to wait to put something like bead maker over the ceramic? Does it bond right away, or do you have to let the ceramic cure first? Also I have an idea for a video for you. I know sometimes it's cool to have a product unique for a purpose, but you end up with a lot of stuff. But what about for enthusiasts who don't do this for a living, maybe you can make a video on good products that can serve multiple uses (if you think they are good for all applications). I'll give you an example, on your Rag Company Microfiber video I heard Levi say he likes to use ONR as his glass cleaner. I've also heard people use it for clay lube, obviously waterless wash. That's could be worth buying in bulk to replace a couple other things if it was a good option. Maybe APC's (for engine, interior, )VRP type products and tires and so on could be covered. You tell us.
Good idea. And to answer your question, let a week go by before washing the wheels and apply a topper like Bead Maker.
would this work on chrome rims??
Hi i come from denmark follow your feature every time.
Thanks Eli! Hi from Canada 🇨🇦!
Pan, full credit these are the best vids by far. Hope your able to help with this one...
I have raw freshly polished BBS RC aluminium wheels (Nicely done, but not mirror finish). Car only leaves the garage for short spins when dry. Please can I ask....
1. Are the following products suitable: Wax, Sealant, Ceramic coating, graphene coating.
2. Which product would you recommenced for best finish and easy maintenance?
Many thanks bud..
Thanks for the kind words Andy. As per Gyeon's own statement: "There are various wheel rim types available on the market, e.g. wet painted, powder coated, anodized or polished. Q² Rim is an appropriate product to protect each and every one of them. Even the owners of models with polished rim lips have observed that the need to refresh the so-called mirror effect is significantly less frequent."
@@PanTheOrganizer Pan, appreciate the rapid reply, guess ceramic coating is the way forward then... These forums certainly cut out the guess work, thanks for the Q-Rim recommend. Cheers bud
❤️
Definitely going to try this next! The front brakes on our AUDI make soot!
Question on Gliss... did you use 1/2 of the Gliss 30ml bottle for your Bimmer? The CarPro website says one 30ml bottle is enough for 1 car. Maybe they mean if you do 2 coats? I followed your instructions on applying the ceramic coating (2 coats CQuartz UK) and then applied Gliss (1 coat).
Thanks Pan!
I applied one coat and didn't even use half a bottle of Gliss on my car.
Great way to spread the cost. The Gliss rags can be reused too, unlike the ceramic rags, right?
I throw them away.
Can I apply this on my gas stove?
Bonjour Pan pourriez-vous faire cette vidéo en français merci continuez comme ça vos vidéos sont top😉
Merci Damien!
Hello thank for the informative video. I just bought brand new wheels for my f10. Haven't installed them yet. Do I have to follow these exact steps to protect the wheels before I take the car to garage to put in new tyres tyres on thm.
I would do this after the tires are installed. Watch my wheels off detailing video: ua-cam.com/video/3LCQ0g589pM/v-deo.html
@@PanTheOrganizer thanks
Hey Pan, during decontamination you suggest to use 2 products: Iron X + Tar remover. Why don't you recommend CarPro TRIX which does both in a single product and may save money?
I prefer separate products. Each product can focus on a specific task.
Third. Hello. If I’m doing paint correction do I need to do an IPA wipe down after the compound or just after the polish? Or both? Thanks in advance.
I think, that it is better use an IPA mixture after every step of paint correction, 'cause some pastes can masking a paint inperfections. But very important is a final IPA defat step because from it matters a durability of your applied protection. :)
it wouldn’t hurt to do both, but you need to do one after whatever your last step before applying protection is
Great Video x
Oldie but goodie as we say!
Hey Pan, I’ll soon be getting my winter wheels and they’ll be brand new out-of-the-box and so clearly most of this prep won’t apply to me. Would you recommend still doing an IPA wipe down or is this really not even necessary (as I would have to buy something like Gyeon Prep)?
Absolutely do an IPA wipe down before applying your wheel coating. Ideally, you would use the same paint prep as the coating you're buying. If you're applying CarPro DLUX wheel coating, use CarPro Eraser prep. You want to make sure your surface is super clean and well prepped before applying the coating to ensure maximum performance and durability.
I’ve been waiting to apply Gyeon Rim on my new summer wheels for a while, for the reason that I’m not sure if I should apply it before or after putting on tires ..
im guessing the coating can help avoid “possibly” scratching the new wheels, but will the tire install machine compromise the coating? Hmm
Wait until your wheels are mounted to the tires.
Gyeon Rim is gold stuff, not sure the USA use it that much I don't think?
Yes Gyeon is become more and more popular in the USA too.
Hello Pan, are there any videos like this with a different coating brand?
The procedure is pretty much the same regardless of which wheel coating you are using.
You can see us apply CarPro DLUX wheel coating in this full detailing video: ua-cam.com/video/E_ck-Hn1AvE/v-deo.htmlsi=fSc0OEiYmGVG28k9
would a steam cleaner be a good idea to use cleaning wheels since less harsh chemicals to brake down the wheels
Hey pan I don’t access to a garage do you do think applying a window coating and rim coating will have to wait so they don’t get dust behind the coating?
Just don’t do it on a windy day you should be fine. Don’t overthink the moment.
I love your videos and my car is clean af but...damm to spend almost 20.00 per bottle i cant afford that hahaha i will keep using sonax 💔
Thanks
I’m planning on coating 3 brand new (in the box) sets of 13” wheels for my race car. Can you estimate how many bottles of Rim it might take and how many applicator pads are required? The wheels are a maximum of 8” width. Thank you ... love the channel.
Very hard to say as I don't know how much product you use, plus I have never seen those wheels... But typically one bottle should allow you to coat 8 wheels total. I use a new applicator after doing 2 wheels.
@@PanTheOrganizer I don’t see a link to the applicator “mitts”. I assume they are not the applicator cloths.
pan love your video and with that aside I have a question for you ,I was offered a car wash location to operate myself instead of running around from house to house garage to garage to clean cars , my question is the deal I am offered is as such , I have my own garage rent free ..electricity free..all the water supply I can use ..all washing and detail products I use all paid for by land lord from soaps to ceramic coat products to brushes to hoses buckets etc all supplied to me on my demand and need , but I have to split all my washes 50 50 with landlord and 70 me 30 landlord for detail jobs basicly if I do a complete ceramic coat job and charge 600 I will subtract 200 for parts and have a 400 dollar froffit and I will keep 280 and landlord will get 120 ////do you believe this is a good deal or should I keep being a mobile detailer ...the only thing I am thinking of is the winter months where its super quiet for me for detail jobs but if im in a garage I can wash a gazillion cars during winter months ..so please tell me if its a deal I should take or keep doing what I am doing as a mobile car wash /detailer ...thank you
