    You should slacken off the cable at the lever first. This way it shouldn’t affect the adjustment at the clutch. Loosen off at the clutch centre. Then tighten until it bottoms out, then back out 1/2~3/4 of a turn. Tighten the lock nut. Then just adjust the cable free play at the lever.
    The adjuster at the casing adjusts the free play of the clutch itself. The adjuster at the lever adjusts the free play at the cable.

    thanks for the informative videos! i own an rs and have been diying it since day one (14 months ago). im also halfway qualified to be a bike mechanic, but theres lots of little 2 stroke unique features to it im still learning about as i replace things

      reed valves should be replaced. They get very weak indeed and impact on performance. Pay more attention to the engine casing. Most are likely to be warped. Personally by a 2nd hand engine and strip it down and rebuild it. when your done install it and then rebuild you original engine. best method to learning and keep you on the road. start as soon as you can. the 123 is very similar to the 122. so consider that option alos. Sadly this bike is still in england and i need to collect it. the previous gave up on the bike because it was too costly for him to repair through me. which i did warn him about. good luck in the future denevours with your training.

      I opened cover, clutch line was out, so I took clutch line in, and it worked. But when I tried to start from 0 gear to 1 gear it didnt react for clutch and moto shut down, why there is no reaction for clutch if it is connected and i feel resistance in clutch?

    Hi, hand side adjust and clutch cover side adjust (with allen like your made) is t the same things?

      I am unable to understand what you are trying to ask.
      However, I will try my best.
      The Allen key will ADJUST the clutch lever DISTANCE from handle GRIP to full Extension. Their is a 2nd adjuster on the clutch lever it self. This Adjuster is used as a final adjuster to suit preferred desire on the MOVE. Max minimal adjustment to the main clutch with ALLEN to ensure drivability. Then 2nd adjuster at main lever is to find the right balance for your riding style and on the move / go adjustment.
      The video pretty much explains it all. Good Luck.

    Hi, What happens if that screw comes out and you can't get it back in as it just spins round in the hole ?

    • @jasonputtock4428
      @jasonputtock4428  8 років тому

      +Lee Smith I am guess the screw is the CLUTCH screw........... The only that moves ANIT and CLOCKwise fashion. If this just spins remove side casing and check your connections. I think you have undone this too far and now does not resecure itself. To find out will result in removal of side casing sorry....

      You need to use one of the Aprilia tools to loosen it. Serial number of that tool is AP0276040
