Super train 👍👍👍.
Greetings Gert
Thank you
I grew up on the Island, love that your planning to homage it!
I have a lot to live up to then!
I had to buy a large shed when we moved in to a 4 bed new build. Keep up the good work.
That can be an option too for me, though it'd need to be well insulated
Fabulous work mate.
You must be local to me, so i look forward to your next updates!
Northampton based yes
As always, a very envious viewer of your layout.
Thank you!
Looks really good, the way you’ve hidden the unrealistic radius is clever
Thank you very much, I got the idea from Everard junction
Nice update. Can't wait to see the progress on those plans. Love the idea of the IOW layout. I was there last weekend, however I visit 3 or 4 times a year as I have friends there in Sandown.
Thank you, the idea has been pondering in my head for a while and would love it to be a reality one day, I've only been there the once as I say but so much history behind this line
I’ve just started to build a new layout in the loft of our new build. I decided to build in the gap between the rafters as it uses “dead space”. Hope you manage to find a solution as I really enjoy the videos and have found a lot of inspiration and motivation to keep going from your layout
Not a fan of lofts to work in, too much noise for the children trying to sleep down below! I'm glad you enjoy my videos, thank you for the comment
Ryde tunnel to Ryde Pier takes up 7m x 3m Daniel....I was planning on building it for our 38 stock but realised it was huge! We had the EP samples on dispaly at York NGS Show and once we've refined a few things we will look at getting the decorated samples done. Keep up the great work on the layout.
Maybe a shortened pier I should say... I have a feeling once the Revolution stock is released there'll be more Isle of Wight themed railways which I do hope for! Cheers for the comment
Great update Dan. Layout scenics are second to none. At least I now know why I can't get my 5th Scotrail Mk3 coach - you've got it 😂😂. Fantastic that you have everything mapped out as to what you want to do and a timescale to aim to. It's a lot slower on my own layout 😅. Cheers Euan
I can apologise for that! Thank you for the comment, I can't say this is progressing overly quick either!
So the bridge which you are modelling (guessing it on Northampton loop) the track is a motorcross track however there’s one next to Milton Keynes and there’s one between whilton and long buckby (between loop and old line) called whilton mill
Aah that's what it is, and yes I've heard of Whilton locks so I guess this sort of fits in well then, cheers for the comment
@@greatdeltan6556 any will fit in beautifully obviously I’m a WCML driver but believe it or not I’m also a highly rated kart racer and I’m in bombed in speedway and Motox so if you do need assistance just ask but you usually have it covered 😊
I can relate to your situation and sympathise with being in this position. It is a positive thing though and I’m sure you’ll find a space and way of building again wherever you move to, whether that be a modular exhibition layout or similar to the current plan. Love the go-kart track idea and I’m intrigued as to whether you’ll be finding a way of having a kart shooting round the track? Cheers, Dave
Thank you for the comment, no idea what the future holds for me but always good to have a back up!
Kia ora Dan. Thnaks for the great update and feel for you having to sell 75% of your locos and rolling stock, sounds as though you have your priorities sorted. Surprised re your comment on camera work and pace of voice. Personally enjoy the flow of your past videos, as you say you'll want to look back on these videos and all you've accomplished. I'm particularly impressed with your cutting (that alone worthy of some magazine space) and the engineering to hide the curve, very clever. I may have missed it but are you going to use the magnorail for your go car scene? Many thanks, Nga mihi nui, James
I've had a few comments on videos regarding me camera work so I am trying to improve things for the viewer, as for the cutting I appreciate the comment:) and for magnorail I haven't really looked into it yet but it could be a viable option yes
New builds do sometimes come with a loft, if not a garage 🙂
They do yes, but I think most new build lifts are far less open than older houses, we have found a couple of designs with garages but none near to us
Nice update Dan, youve got quite a lot of changes coming, moving myself so going to have to pack mine up and re assemble it in the new garage, so were both going to have to face the upheaval. Hope your new place has some decent space, the Isle of wight would make a good scenic layout I imagine, just hope the lack of stock variety is worth it, a complete contrast to the WCML! It would be great to see it in a modelling magazine though, your skills have got really good now.
Glad I'm not the only one in this boat! I do hope so too, and yes quite the opposite to the WCML, but should mean far less stress as a lot less trackwork too!
Great update and a real shame about the future of the layout. Its coming together really well. Like the IoW idea. I've had a similar idea for stations on the Cumbrian Coast Line.
Thank you, any layout with multiple stations and a destination to destination concept is an interest idea
Hi Daniel The layout your currently building looks great, it will be a real shame to have to break it up again but good luck with it and the house move. Can I ask where you get those wooden trays for your stock from please, do you make them or buy them in? Thanks
It will be a bit sad but has been a good journey along the way, the trays I've built myself from strip wood from B&Q and 3mm MDF all glued together with Gorilla glue
@@greatdeltan6556 Thanks Daniel
good luck with your iow layout and house move it would be good if you could build or 3d print some 1923 stock for it as well!
Cheers for that, I think I'd set it in the mid 2010s so a little late for the 23 stock, still though would be nice to have different eras
@@greatdeltan6556 yeh just thought it would be nice for some variety! can always have the class 03 shunter and pway train! looking forward to seeing the dinosaur livery 38 stock!
@@timstrainvideos142 now that livery would be one hell of a task!
@@greatdeltan6556 hopefully revolution will produce it for a retailer special or something like that. I've emailed the dinosaur museum in sandown to suggest it!
Hi Dan, very good, what is the length of this current layout?
Currently around 5m
