It is hardly old. 5d mkI which I still have is old. D810 is an awesome camera and it will be excellent for the next decade. Two slots, huge resolution, fantastic sensor. Used prices will be even lower after the introduction of z6 and z7. Cameras are not CPUs. They are not obsolete in 6 years. You can still take some nice photos with a 10 year old camera.
5 years is not old for a camera. Especially of this caliber. This camera will breeze through comparisons between itself and cameras today of a similar price. (You can get this body for under $1000). A steal honestly. This camera could still be a professional near flagship of Nikon if more wireless and tech features were added into it.

It's barely old. I still shoot with it, bought it recently.
The D700 is an old camera & still takes excellent photos...
