One of the common practices I see is the inefficient use of squeezing and pulling. There are certainly times when it helps or where it is even required but it should never be an exhaustive practice. Utilizing our body weight to control, pin or submit saves energy, can exhaust our opponents and can lead them into positional errors. In summary, much of the art of grappling is based on how well we can utilize our bodyweight in association with our surroundings.

Best explanation ever! I’ve rolled with many black belts, many of them I outweighed, and have always wondered how every single one of them always manage to make me feel like they weigh 500lbs. Brilliant! Thank you Professor! If only I can crack this code and apply it on the mat. Hence why they’re black belts and I am not. Btw, I’ve been a big fan since I watched you on the original TUF.

Short and sweet videos are the best!! And very nice gym Kenny! Are students allowed to sweat on the mats? That's LA right, no wonder the lighting and angles are so good.
