I live 19 miles from George R Brown Convention Center and have attended the quilt show for years. The quilt show is still a lot smaller than pre-Covid, but is coming back slowly. It was larger than the year before. I wish next year you all you hang around for one day of the actual show for a meet and greet with those of us that use your fabric and follow you. It would be so nice to meet you.
Chelsi…I am a anxiety ridden flyer. I had to take drugs to get through a flight. And I had to fly a couple of times per week. When I retired I told my husband I don’t have to fly again. I feel for you. But keep flying with white knuckles because there is so much to see and do in this country. God bless. Love your mom and you. Your fabrics are some of my favorites. They make me happy and I love your podcasts.
I'm so glad my husband and I were able to meet you both at Quilt Market! We might be the new Colorado shop you mentioned and we just opened in June. I'm happy to be one of your "quiltie besties"!! We traded bracelets and Chelsi gave me a BFF one. Thank you for doing everything you do and supporting all of the shops. I can't wait to see what's next!
LOVED the Market coverage you provided. You both looked so lovely too. Seeing all the Moda designers and their fabric lines was a real treat. Your podcast is amazing. I always love to listen to all 3 of you. Thank you for all you do for the quilting world. 🙂🥰
Oh Chelsi, I am right there with you. I HATE flying! If it was as easy as drinking or taking medications, I would try anything, but nothing works. I hate turbulence with a passion. So you are not alone!
So wish I could have met you in Huston! Thankful you enjoyed it and were inspired. I so enjoyed your video of all the designers we love so much. It was my first trip to Huston but hopefully not my last🧡🧵
Since it is the time of year when we think about all we are thankful for, I thought I should share that I have listened to your podcast from the very beginning, and I look forward to each episode. Despite Billy’s modesty about being self taught, it is very professionally done. His list of topics always amazes me and he’s great at asking follow up questions. The laid back family vibe is a bonus to all the quilting information and inspiration each episode provides. I also appreciate all of the tutorial videos Sherri and Chelsi create and put out into the quilting world. You are so talented and I’ve learned so much from you! Your fabric collections are so happy, and I fell in love with your very first collection, Bright Sun, and made a quilt with it! I’m thankful for each of you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
My son and daughter in law moved to Tx. last year, they live about 4 hours from Houston. Every year that’s all I can think about, I want to move to Tx so my son can take me to Quilt Fest. Hopefully someday soon.
It's great fun to hear about market! I have only one thing I'd like to suggest: tell Marketing we up in Alaska would LOVE to see someone up here to help bring Moda products to our area! Shipments coming to Alaska are rough for shop owners, especially when in small boxes.
The first time I visited Donna’s Quilt Shop in Kingman, Arizona back in 2018 and Donna (the shop owner) demonstrated a Quilter’s Select ruler and I was hooked. The only thing I suggest is to protect the backs if you store your rulers in a drawer or when transporting to/from class because the non-slip coating can scratch off. Otherwise they are amazing rulers. * One thing I kept looking for in the multiple Quilt Market videos I watched, including yours, was 2 color quilts. I am obsessed with simple two/three color quilts.
I think you guys did great with the quilt market video. It didn't matter that you didn't get everyone The ones you were able to speak with we're great. Thank you for giving us a little behind the scenes tour.
Enjoyed watching your coverage of quilt market!!! if he didn’t know any better, you would’ve thought it had all been rehearsed. Great speakers, great info! No words can begin to touch in the amount of creativity and such great folks!
This was such a fun episode. It is great to hear your stories and feel the excitement of quilt market. It is also great to hear that the quilting world is thriving. So glad you had a great trip and it is wonderful that Billy will be going next year so the whole team will be together. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Hearing about Quilt Market was wonderful! I also enjoyed your interviews at Quilt Market. Really interesting to people like me who won't ever experience all that "Quilt Candy" :).
Funny story about lefties: one of my coworkers is left handed, but she had to learn how to do a lot of things right handed including using scissors. She just looked so awkward using right handed scissors that I ordered a pair of lefties for her. She had to ask a friend to show her how to use them. She was so happy with it that she bought a pair to have at home.
Hi all! My dad being in the Air Force, the 1st time I flew was to Germany when I was either 7 or 8!! So had no clue as to whether to be scared or not 🤣🤣 Needless to say, I LOVE to fly!! 💗💗Have never had a turbulence issue in all the times I've flown. So very glad for you to have been able to come to Houston (I'm in Abilene) & have such a great time!!!!
I enjoyed the market episode, you did well. Those ✂ sound interesting . Something ive noticed the generic water bottles you use after raving about those special ones aren't seen anymore 😂
Oh my gosh this flight story! Brings back terrible memories 😂 my husband and I were flying back to the states from Germany one time and I can still feel my stomach stop thinking about it. It was a double decker plane and Before we took off, someone came on and announced this would be the pilots first international flight…mistake number one was announcing this before we took off and not after we had safely landed. We make it all the way to Florida where a massive storm has us stalling over a different city. Then they announce we are low on gas because we have been circling for so long…..mistake number 2. So we will have to land and refuel. Before we can land, the same storm we are avoiding makes us drop just as you were describing! Like a roller coaster! I levitated. Drinks flew. People fell. Three times. I thought ok this is it! But as you see, we did make it to our airport and I am here to tell the tale. Everyone missed their connecting flights and the airline put us up in Orlando where my husband and I spent the day at Disney world before catching our new flight. Alls well that ends well!!
I really enjoyed today's podcast! Love hearing about Market and how things are bouncing back after a long pause. I totally loved watching your video at Market as well. Looking forward to all the new collections!
Speaking of patches, I buy an embroidered patch whenever I visit bird sanctuaries or parks that offer patches for sale. These patches are of birds or landmarks. They are beautiful. You appreciate embroidery when you get a nice collection of bird patches. I have a vest full of patches. I remember patches being cool on clothes. My worst turbulence experiences were flights into and out of Houston earlier this year. I watch the flight attendants to see if they are concerned. Our pilots warned us our flights were going to be bumpy. It was bumpy. Thankfully, everyone remained calm when the turbulence was bad. The flight attendants remained in their jump seats the entire flight into Houston. Once we arrived home over Michigan, the air was calm and we were home.
My quilt group went to Houston Quilt Festival in 2021. Even though the pandemic was still a thing, we had a good time! I would recommend everyone going at least once…
Thank you for another awesome episode. My turbulence story. I was in the restroom when turbulence hit. We were being told to buckle up in our seats. 😮. I was trying to pull my pants up, but couldn’t because my body was just bouncing against the door. I was so fearful that I was going to pop the door open and fall out into the aisle with pants not quite on yet. 😂 so do I die from a falling plane or do I die of embarrassment. Hmmm. Well, neither happened and I live to tell a funny story.😅
Quilter’s Select rotary cutter is fabulous. I thought it was going to feel heavy, but it is not. Great products. Alex Anderson is left handed so that is why lefties are so on her radar when it comes to Quilter’s Select.
I enjoyed this episode and hearing all about quilt market. I absolutely love the QS rulers and will need to try the rotary cutter. I laughed when Billy was talking about the torn jeans and sewing patches on them. Nowadays folks are spending lots of money on jeans that are already torn. I don't get that at all, lol. Thank you so much for a great episode.
I would love to be a part of the quilting world like you both are!! Maybe someday I'll get my patterns published... I love your videos. ❤Keep them coming! I look forward to watching while I long-arm!😊
The Quilter's Select products all work together quilte nicely! The rulers don't slide, the yellow color helps to see on dark & light fabrics, and the measurements on the rulers match exactly to the measurements on the mat so you get really accurate cuts; the rotary cutter is heavy and you might think that would be a negative but it's not - it makes cutting easy because you don't have to put a lot of pressure onto the cutter. PSA - everyone should probably go replace their rotary blades after the podcast - we never seem to change them often enough lol - and boy, when you do, the rotary cutter slides right through the fabric with ease!
Chelsi- I would have been a screaming, crying mess on that plane! I am so with you on that- ever since having kids, go figure? 😁🤷🏽♀️ Loved the recap, love the passion, love it all. And Sherri I made your Fall Dash quilt and it’s my husband’s fave ❤ it’s on our bed, so thank you! A1 design 👊🏽
I feel for you both having to experience turbulence during your flight, I know I wouldn’t have done well for sure. Total enjoyed your video at Market. Thanks for sharing. 👍❤️😊
I appreciate your statement about wishing new quilt shops well. Since you sell to quilt shops, it's wonderful and increases sales opportunities for your business. The quilt shops in my area are not so welcoming to new shops. Our local shop hop will not allow shops that have been in business less than a year to participate.
I love the quilters select rulers. I needed a ruler that wouldn't slip to help with my accuracy on cutting. And it has made a huge difference. I am left handed . I think most left handed people are ambidextrous. We have to be to live in a right handed world 😊.
My moment of a bad flight caused me to hv 2 busted eardrums. Like Chesi's flight, it was like a roller coaster. The baggage compartments overhead came open. Some baggage fell out. There were 3 different "drop downs in altitude" that both my eardrums ruptured due to pressure changes. Do not choose to fly since then.
I love Quilters Select rulers. Over the last few years I have purchased most of their rulers at the Houston Quilt Festival. I was skeptical of their rotary cutters at first but now I love them. If you like the 45mm then try the 60mm. Actually, Quilt Festival begins on Monday with classes for the general public. The classes go from Monday through Saturday. Then on Wednesday evening the quilt show and the vendor booths open, too. The Festival was twice as large as last year.
I'm a lefty, though ambidextrous with many things. My Dad was right handed but all his sports he played left handed. I have a neat saying that always gets a giggle - God made a few perfect people, the rest are right handed.
I love Quilters Select rulers. The rotary cutter on the other hand is just too heavy for me. I gave it to my husband to use at work. Great quality just, not for me! I would have loved to be there for Festival. I love to shop! 😉 Happy Thanksgiving to you.
I love, love, love QS rulers and the rotary cutter! My absolute favorites. Have lots of rulers and QS is my go to over the others. Billy, I am the same way! Right for writing, left for a lot of other things. I wish designers would stay for festival…just a thought, the general public are the consumers in the end.
FYI ……. I made several of the yo yo pincushions in orange fabrics for pumpkins for decoration for grand daughter for Halloween. Would also be cute to display for thanksgiving. 3
Just discovered your channel & enjoyed this episode. May I suggest next time you have items like the scissors or books, it would be wonderful if Billy could be the one to hold them up, as the camera is so much closer to him. Just a thought. Thanks for the review of Quilt Show. ❤
One flight story: dropped w no warning…my drink finished but still had ice in cup…ice flew straight up. Pilot got on mic laughing, “sorry about that folks, we just went through the wake from another jet.”
Oh Chelsi you are just so adorable and sweet in your happiness I just love to see and hear your excitement. You do my heart good. Oh Chelsi I want to live next door to you and you be my best friend and I will be 50 years younger!! Yeppie Aww to Dream. Sherri You must be the best mother ... how calm you are. I would be 30 years later and be your next door neighbor too! Cook, sew and quilt. Hahaha. QUESTION Sherri, if you are a Beach girl, how did you end up in the desert?

I'm so glad my husband and I were able to meet you both at Quilt Market! We might be the new Colorado shop you mentioned and we just opened in June. I'm happy to be one of your "quiltie besties"!! We traded bracelets and Chelsi gave me a BFF one. Thank you for doing everything you do and supporting all of the shops. I can't wait to see what's next!
Where in Colorado? I am in east Denver
I’m in Arvada, CO. Little Sandys Quilt Shop! Come by and say HI!! 😊
Thanks for the left handed shout out!!!!!!!!
I think quilters select in my opinion is the best products on the market, I love them.
Love Quilter’s Select. ❤
LOVED the Market coverage you provided. You both looked so lovely too. Seeing all the Moda designers and their fabric lines was a real treat. Your podcast is amazing. I always love to listen to all 3 of you. Thank you for all you do for the quilting world. 🙂🥰
I love Quilters Select rulers and their rotary cutter.
It was the best video of quilt market that I watched! Great job Sheri and Chelsi!!
Oh Chelsi, I am right there with you. I HATE flying! If it was as easy as drinking or taking medications, I would try anything, but nothing works. I hate turbulence with a passion. So you are not alone!
That jacket with the Dresden on it is so pretty
So wish I could have met you in Huston! Thankful you enjoyed it and were inspired.

QS rulers were a game changer for me…….no slipping and increased accuracy!

Sherri you are so observant and detail oriented…was extra surprised to hear you ask if any of your grandchildren are left-handed.
Love Celebrate with quilts! Awesome quilts in that book and pictures are beautiful ❤
Oh, your booth looks just beautiful. All those light colors together.
I think you guys did great with the quilt market video. It didn't matter that you didn't get everyone The ones you were able to speak with we're great. Thank you for giving us a little behind the scenes tour.
I had no idea that there was something open to the public! I want to go next time!!
Yes, I love QS rulers!
I enjoyed seeing the camaraderie among all the designers in the pics that you posted. 😊
Enjoyed watching your coverage of quilt market!!! if he didn’t know any better, you would’ve thought it had all been rehearsed. Great speakers, great info! No words can begin to touch in the amount of creativity and such great folks!
Love my quilter select rulers and ruler.
Sorry and rotary cuter. I also do most things with my left hand and golf right hand. I have two other siblings that are lefties. Out of 5 children
Love this video!!’
This was such a fun episode. It is great to hear your stories and feel the excitement of quilt market. It is also great to hear that the quilting world is thriving. So glad you had a great trip and it is wonderful that Billy will be going next year so the whole team will be together. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
I love my Quilter Select rulers and cutter. I'm also left handed and I do cut left handed but can cut right handed. I write left handed.
The three of you are just the best. You are so informative. I enjoy every episode. Thank you.
I live in the UK and Strawberry lemonade is already available for shipping online from the primary distributor.
Hearing about Quilt Market was wonderful! I also enjoyed your interviews at Quilt Market. Really interesting to people like me who won't ever experience all that "Quilt Candy" :).
With 60 blocks and 14 sampler quilts its enough to keep you sewing for years!!!!
Oh my gosh, I’m a lefty and struggle with rulers, now I have to try the quilter select rulers! Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for letting us regular people have a glimpse of market. You and Billy did a great job on the market video. I enjoyed it all.

I am a lefty. Don’t forget us for sure!!
I really enjoyed today's podcast! Love hearing about Market and how things are bouncing back after a long pause. I totally loved watching your video at Market as well. Looking forward to all the new collections!
Fun video! It was so lovely to meet the two of you in person this year at Quilt Market! 😊
Great podcast. So much info and fun stuff. ❤❤😊
I purchased the celebrate quilts book! I can’t believe the number and variety of projects! Well worth the purchase!
On bumpy flights, I tell my children the plane is hitting "cloud pot-holes."
OMG! We live in Vermont, so we are very familiar with pot holes. I'm saving this for my grandkids:"cloud pot holes!" Love it!
The quilt behind Billy’s back ?? Is that a pattern available in your shop? I love it.

This made me laugh out loud!
Every sounds like so much fun! Glad you enjoyed it! Covid really took a tole on everything!

I love your video. What is the quilt called the one grandmothers flower. Is it a kit? Would be very interested in purchasing it. ❤
Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing your market memories. I love your podcast and listen all the time.
My parents were righties. Their oldest child was also but the rest of us 6 were all lefties. My hubby & 2 sons are also lefties.
I have the quilters select rotary cutter and I love love it so much. Best one I’ve had.
I'm with Chelsi on the flying thing. I have to be drugged and/or liquored up to get on an airplane. Thanks for another entertaining podcast!
There is a natural spray called Calm. Have you ever tried it? I was thinking Chelsi might give it a try...whenever you feel anxious.
I enjoyed this episode and hearing all about quilt market. I absolutely love the QS rulers and will need to try the rotary cutter. What is the quilting design on the beautiful autumn quilt behind Billy? I have that pattern and the quilting on yours is awesome!

I am one of those new shops that is being excluded from the shop hop. It's a bummer!😞

I laughed out loud when Chelsi said “and we bounced.” Lol😂 they literally bounced there on their flight.
My moment of a bad flight caused me to hv 2 busted eardrums. Like Chesi's flight, it was like a roller coaster. The baggage compartments overhead came open. Some baggage fell out. Would love for you to show us how you made the pincushion and other goodies with the yo-yo from Clover. :)😊
I have a question how competitive are the designers with each other
One flight story: dropped w no warning…my drink finished but still had ice in cup…ice flew straight up. Pilot got on mic laughing, “sorry about that folks, we just went through the wake from another jet.”
So my hubby and I are both right handed and 2 out my 3 boys are left handed we have no idea how that happened lol.
The wall behind your brother/son, is it a foam core wall of some sort?
Can the general public go to quilt market or do you have to have a quilt business to go?
Oh Chelsi you are just so adorable and sweet in your happiness I just love to see and hear your excitement. You do my heart good. Oh Chelsi I want to live next door to you and you be my best friend and I will be 50 years younger!! Yeppie Aww to Dream. Sherri You must be the best mother ... how calm you are. I would be 30 years later and be your next door neighbor too! Cook, sew and quilt. Hahaha. QUESTION Sherri, if you are a Beach girl, how did you end up in the desert?
That’s so thoughtful of you Michelle, Thanks for your positive review, How are you and how’s the weather there ?
The trend I see in the stores is a lot more browns. For several years we have seen NO brown so this is new
That’s so thoughtful of you Colleen , Thanks for your positive review, How are you and how’s the weather there ?
Fall to Christmas--what happened to Thanksgiving--some people even do Hanukkah!
My husband is right handed but plays golf and ball left handed. He can shoot pool either way. I tell him he's just confused lol
Most of us lefties are ambidextrous since we live in a right handed world!! lol
Love you Chelsea but maybe give your mom a chance to talk too.
