I was on this cruise with Tula when the world shut down. It was a very strange feeling to get rushed off a ship. It was very ominous to go into an empty Miami airport and then land in an empty Atlanta airport. There was hardly anyone on the interstate on a Saturday afternoon. Tula was a great teacher, by the way!! 😃
This is, I believe, your best interview ever. I am amazed at how much I learned. I’m truly in awe of Tula Pink’s intelligence, creativity, and passion. Your interview really pulled back the curtain to show us just how much work it takes to produce a fabric line (and so much more). Thanks for your excellent videos, Karen Brown. I have watched every video you’ve ever done and keep going back to my favorites (like How to Sew Straight and How to Bind a Quilt) time and time again. You produce the BEST quilting videos available on UA-cam. I appreciate the work you put into them.
There is absolutely no possibility of this girl moving to another island ever!! I started quilting with Tula pink fabrics ….I love free spirit ….I love your patterns and I love the designs Angela quilts your quilts with!! You are an icon in the quilt world!
Brown is the natural color of earth , brown is the original color of the first original people on this planet...brown does not make me think of poop , it makes me think of all things natural to our planet....like myself a brown woman who loves to quilt because my brown ancestors created it along with weaving and aplique......brown has created the most beautiful things !!!!!!
I’m relatively new at quilting /sewing but have always been artistic. Painting, drawing, sculpture, tattooing etc. always loved textile but was intimidated by the process and decision making. Now I’m indulging in fabric and although I love Lori Holt’s prints, Tula Pink’s fabrics impress me the most. It’s so detailed and bright. I can appreciate the work that went into it’s creation. I’m waiting to improve my skills before working with Tula’s fabrics. I made one beautiful puff quilt for my daughter using Tula Pink’s Curioser and Curioser line. It was so fun to play with. Lots of fussy cutting, which appeals to me. My daughter loves it so much.
I was born in NorthWest Missouri, kinda half way between St Joseph and Kansas City -- so I am proudly counting myself as one of those epic Missouri quilt creators whether I deserve it or not.
Wow. I’m so impressed with Tula, she is truly a brilliant young lady. A design and quilting genius. I enjoyed listening to her so much! Thank you for sharing this awesome video with us ❤️❤️
Tula Pink's success has spread as far as St. John's Newfoundland, where I saw a couch in a Quilt Shop on the main street that was upholstered in quilt fashion, all with Tula Pink dazzling colors 💖
Tula is truly a passionate artist with a mind for business. Congratulations on finding your true calling, it truly makes one's best life ever. Great video!!
Wow! One of your best interviews so far, Karen! Just love hearing more about Tula-I’ve learned a lot about fabric design from her Tula Tuesday videos-fascinating! Kudos!
That is so cute! She is worried about us getting bored of her fabrics? LOL!! As IF! Thank you for this one, it is my favorite of your interviews, not that there is ever one that is anything less than fabulous!
I love her description of the ‘living room purple’. My husband and I had a spare room we called ‘the purple passion room’ because of the paint colour we chose. Love that colour. This is a great interview. Thanks Tula for your great designs and thanks Karen for the interview that gave us all some insight into this amazing inspiring woman.
I grew up in the 60's with a purple living room!! Our house was a Better Homes and Gardens home of the year (1958). My mom was an adventurous with color. No wonder I got a degree in Interior Designer! PS. I still love purple. Look at my stash:-)
I knew very little about Tula Pink until this video, which I very much enjoyed. What an interesting combination of creativity and business smarts. She's so articulate and I love her confidence in her unique vision and abilities.

My absolute favorite person in quilting is Tula Pink! Love Tula Tuesdays. This was a wonderful interview. The day you broadcast this, I was on my way back to the States from the family cottage in Magnetawan, ONT. So great to be back for the first time since 2019. Lots of handwork and perfect weather for the lake. I hated to get home to 90 degree weather! Stay cool!

Tula is the goddess of quilt fabric. Interestingly, I’ve never made a quilt with her fabric. I’m terrified to cut into any of it 😂. But this interview has inspired me to take a chance and just make something beautiful with her fabrics. Thanks Karen!
I'm glad I watched this... I admire Tula now versus being amazed with her. She still very amazing! But she has so many admirable qualities that come out during this wonderful interview process. This was a delight to watch.
Tula looks wonderful! She is super talented but is so down to earth. Her love of color comes through in everything she does. Thanks for a terrific interview.

Oh Karen, this interview with Tula Pink is the BEST EVER!! I LOVE your tutorials and chats, and look forward to them all. Funny fact about Tula on Tuesday....because of the time difference between USA and Australia, it's Wednesday here when she goes to air. 🥰🥰
OMG. You did a great interview with Tula. She is such an inspiration to so many people, with her fantastic colorful fabrics to her knowledge of the printing industry to support and perfect her own designs. Plus she looks fabulous!!
This was so interesting! I loved hearing about her process and all the things running in the background. She is an amazing designer. And about those brown fabrics? Landscapes! I am always digging in the “ugly” fabric bin for fabric for my landscapes.
I love Tula Pink fabric. When I found her on Tuesday’s I was elated. I love to watch her and hear what she is doing. I bought my 570 QE when Bernina made a machine with her design on it. I had been waffling on whether to purchase it or not and once she got involved I was all in. I am so glad you had Tula on your program. This is my most favorite interview you have done.
Thank you Karen and thank you Tula for letting us get to know you and to understand what is behind your fabulous work of designing fabrics! Beautiful listening and learning! You both are absolutely great!
Tula is such sincere authentic person. I am new to the Tula Pink movement, but am living it. What a wonderful interview, I felt like was in the room with both of you. Keep up the excellent work.
Color is so important, which is why I nibble each piece of chocolate out of the corner, see what color is inside....Strawberry cream Pink...Lemon chiffon truffle Yellow... Bing Cherry-Boysenberry Red Purple ....Mocha swirl Biege....nothing is better than quilts and EATING chocolates of many colorful flavors....thank you Ms. Tula Pink....I am now dreaming of orange...orange mango dipped in white chocolate! Beautiful and Delicious.
Loved this interview! Thanks for a job well done! Tula Pink's fabrics are among my favorites. Learning more about her processes and her background was very interesting.
I’ve been waiting and waiting for you to interview a fabric designer. This was everything I could have hoped for! You would be great at interviewing world leaders, but I wouldn’t wish that on you.
I think the amazing lesson here for anyone thinking “she’s so lucky to have her own fabric line!” is this: For every successful business owner you see-there is an example of someone who is hard driving, focused, and determined to work hard enough not just accomplish a goal-but to succeed at it over and over! Love your energy and creativity, Tula. Great interview, Karen! ❤️
Just found this interview . Tula looks wonderful ! The knowledge she shared about designing fabrics was great . Thank you Karen for this wonderful interview .
