he got the biggest guts ever, releasing 2 experimental tracks and album, going the opposite style of his trademark concepts, choosing to perform on a stage not consisting of his usual listeners all in the name of passion of artistry and music, he just wants to grow as an artist hes gonna spread his colours all over the world!!

    • @pagesinked

I wouldn't say these are experimental tbh, they are pretty much hiphop and alternative genre mixed, but I wouldn't say experimental just a different vibe from BTS main songs as a whole and from Hope World its not too much different imo.

J-Hope explains in a recent interview that he came up with these songs during the beginning of the Pandemic. So at the Festa...he knew he was keeping this big secret for years. He said he wanted to share the other side of himself. He is free now. Free to show his whole self, his inner self, his complex self, and his dark self. He has been "burning" to take us inside his brain and heart and soul for years. This is special. I have never seen
someone release an album this way. He shares ...very artfully...his whole album to the world. I just HOPE he is entered as a nomination for the Grammy's. He could win!!! Enjoy. ua-cam.com/video/NEUNBlk7xhA/v-deo.html

Blaze is right. Hoseok is about to dog this fr. He’s growing and his rising has already started. I’m really just feeling so proud of Hobi right now because he’s making his mark on the industry as an individual. We’re witnessing the beginning of his prime. I really feel like this is his moment. His era. His flowers that are so well deserved and overdue. Jung Hoseok is an industry diamond. There’s no way he can recreated. I cried like four times last night when his album released because I’m just overflowing with so much intense pride and happiness for him. Arson is an amazing song and the entire album is a masterpiece. I hope he can feel the love surrounding and supporting him from all over.

The whole album "Jack in the box" is freaking masterpiece..when you read the lyrics of each track, it hits very different, telling a story, his cadence, his flow, the production! do not play with this man & his art, he's serious about it, he has went beyond! Hoseok outdid himself again.."Hope world" & "Jack in the box" is like full 360° turn! (Tho from daydream we know the depth of his lyrics which introduces us to harsh reality of his/their lives as idols, as BTS in "hope world" also this song gives me a lil bit "hangsang" vibes, which is again from "hope world" so it's also not surprising to see this side of hobi..not that different from hope world if we think, but surely the big difference in vibe/concept) this album is so personal & vulnerable, giving such classic hip hop like you can hear his influences but it's also so freshly hoseok, completely him but also a new side of him! I'm genuinely in love ✨💜 now about "Arson" the lyrics are thought provoking & paired with this imagery, arson is next level stunning! hobi is really bringing us out of "hope world", into the depths of his genius mind🔥🖤 i I'm love with all the tracks, specially equal sign, Arson, safety zone, what if, future...well👁️👄👁️ every jack in the box track is my fav until i hear the next one i guess 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️🤣

Ooh, I know y'all were hype for this! Honestly, I don't think Hobi's "Jack in The Box" is dark in the way some of us thought. I found some of the songs on the album relate to Hope World, his Ugh verse, and 1 verse. I think the darkness is from his visual aesthetic and the grunge type 90s rap. But he's so versatile he could pull anything off! The cadence, flow switches, the messages all were exceptional. I love how at times he rapped a little behind the beat, it just went perfect with the 90s rap vibe! 💜💜

That's the hottest part of the fire- complete combustion. He's been thinking about this for a long time. This is the last song on the album; there's quite an arc from the first track to the last. It's throwback and fresh at the same time.

my interpretation of this was that in the first verse, he was talking about how he would do anything to get to his highest goal, would even destruct (put flames to) his mental health and relationships for even a piece of the fame that comes with being an artist, but in the second verse, he is his present self, looking at all the destruction he caused in the process of getting to where he is now. when you are so hyperfocused on getting ahead, on wanting to be appreciated for your artistry and hardwork, you don't even realize what you sacrificed to get there, it's not every case, but obviously, coming from his lyrics, his was like this. Quote "do i put out the flame or burn brighter?" indicating that he is aware of the destruction caused by his motivation and lack of knowledge in his come-up, but he still is considering going for more. Also he realizes that all of the things he wanted in the past, the money, the fame, the acknowledgment, now that he has them, he is left with just the ashes of his past motivation. He has all he could have dreamed of, but the question is "what do i do now?" Maybe i am wrong, but this was what i took from it! I am glad you guys enjoyed it so much, just like me!

I can't put into words how much I love this album - I know some people find this side of JHope new but in all honesty I feel as though this side's always been there. Arson is my case in point - the beat, the production feels like the same passion he put into Baseline.
My interpretation of Arson was that he burned all his hope, his passion, his life; all as FUEL for that thoughtless ambition he mentions, and now he looks back at the gigantic scorch mark they left on the music industry as BTS, and realised the impact they left.
But for Hobi, he cant stop/control the fire that he's stoked into this metaphorical forest fire, and he's scared but not regretful, and doesn't know whether he should stop, or go all the way and use up all that fuel until he destroys himself. I reckon he chooses the second option.
I am so freaking keen to learn about everyone's identity outside of their team of brothers-
    This is legendary.

Hobi’s rap *IS* a drumbeat. Some rappers are really distinctive because of the way they shape the words they are rapping (Ludacris comes to mind), and are instantly recognizable for that ability. This is my interpretation from the MV: "I love how this definitely speaks to the effects of fame. "Do I put the fire out or burn even brighter?" meaning do you take a break or keep blazing ahead? Powerful when he said a "trail of soot remains even when the fire is out" because it's true even if you put out the fire and want to be "done" for a bit, the effects of fame still remain and you can't go back to a life without the fire ever happening. You can't really truly take a break after "setting the world on fire". Love how much play on words goes on in his lyrics. Nice job Hobi!!!"

But now, I came back to the thoughts a had since Yet To Come - when they reunite again in Chapter 3, I'm pretty sure BTS is gonna be something entirely different from everything we know till now. THEY ARE TAKING DOWN ALL THIS. THEY ARE REBORNING.

I thought I'd seen, read, and personally analyzed everything there was to analyze about "Arson" before I watched this video, but WG2S, you *still* took it way beyond. The purifying nature of fire, the phoenix, the old-school flow, the personal cost to Hoseok - not to mention the different-but-equally-awed reactions, your personal insights, and the way your thoughts bounce off each other's. Thank you, guys! As always, you're the best. 💜

I feel like when he fell in between the AR and SON... its because he is OUR SUN. The person who is the sun of a group will burn out first . Then the drums stop being distorted at the end and you just hear the clean snare. I feel like he is the phoenix, he is rising from the soot the ashes and oG Jhope is coming back to get us all. Coming back to the roots

Self-inflicted burnout. I love that he was brutally honest like that. Most striking line for me was the one about not seeing the marks left by the burn until it has cooled down. And now that he sees them he has to deal with them. The level of self-awareness is so high in these guys. And that’s one of the many great reasons why they have achieved so much in their young lives. I have so much respect for them.💜

Purification theory. Brilliant. But I don't know if he knows he is going through this process. He does know he is free now. Free to be his whole inner self. Not just sunshine and rainbows! What an important philosophical question he is asking himself. Do I go on and burn out? Or stop? Yes, the song is a spiritual experience he us sharing with us.

I think this song is about how jhope talks about achieving everything, the popularity, the money, the success. He done what he sought out to do and achieved everything. But his white clothes turns brown and ragged. He went through the fire. And since BTS is at a pivotal moment right now, he's thinking should he burn brighter or call it quits while he's in top. At the end, it shows that his heart still has some fire and it still beats for this shit. That's what I got from the lyrics and the video.
