Three things about BJJ that I feel are cringe: - Having to buy and wear that academy’s gi (which coincidentally is always more expensive than normal brands) - people that try and resist when drilling techniques as if they’re in a live roll and are avoiding being put in a bad position or being tapped (I like a gradual ramp up of resistance, but not out of the gate) - Green Belts. Why invent an intermediate belt between white and blue? If I ever went to a school that promoted me to green belt, I’m never wearing it. I would feel second-hand embarrassment if someone ever dropped in for a class at my gym rocking up a green belt.
I last maybe 1 to 3 episodes of jiu-jitsu podcasts without good banter. A jiu-jitsu podcast without banter is...like meeting a hot chick and finding out she's dumb.
I would love to know which gym Adam was referring to that has the dodgy instructor that hurts his students. I've just moved to the Maroubra area and would like to avoid this one if possible
