Danya's speedruns have definitely gotten me through tough times. So, my country is at war, we've been displaced multiple times and we didn't have internet for quite a while and I had downloaded a bunch of Danya's videos beforehand. They have really been there for me through tough tough times. Really, thank you Danya as a person first and as an amazing chess instructor secondly. We really appreciate all the effort. Hi Mohab! Really sorry for situation in Sudan. Is it getting better? I pray that it is and that peace will come soon. The long-form videos may be more instructive, but without the proper juxtaposition they can also be counterproductive for people who are specifically seeking out instruction PRECISELY because Danya gives too many details for lower/intermediate rated players' own good; thereby making it too easy for them to draw the correct conclusions without thinking through things purely on their own merits. He refers to KID as a 'Language' in this video and constantly encouraged pausing and putting in the study by playing out the positions yourself, drawing an allegory for a rather simple reason: no Poet or Playwright in the world learned to create beauty out of language through instruction alone... They all thought and dreamt by themselves about things for a long, long time. I'd encourage anyone who thinks the slower aspects of Chess are more instructive to try working at it from both angles at the same time! Use the slower speedrun videos to inform your Knowledge on the game as you work through them slowly, and then use this new Blitz speedrun to try to put what you've learned to the test in real time - see how your thought process differs from Danya's, and if nothing else you'll learn how large the gap between his and your intuitive thinking is!
fully agree. I would also love to see opening themed speedruns. At least I find that seeing multiple games in the same opening really increases the instructional value.
I think this speedrun’s purpose is to help you understand and improve your position. It’s not meant to be studied, but acquired by having an implicit understanding of the chess board. So focusing on particular openings may sort of go against what Danya had in mind for these series, I don’t know.
one of my favourite aspects of your 15|10 speedruns is when you grind out a win from a small/nonexistent advantage in an ostensibly boring position - "squeezing water from a stone", and 5 minute speedruns aren't as able to demonstrate that. however, i am assured that this new format has its own virtues and will bring its own, unique method of demonstration.
My honest feedback: This is exactly what I've wanted for quite some time. I've always wanted to know how you think in fast time controls so I can better understand the dark arts of blitz and bullet.
I think the concept is really nice especially for someone in the intermediate rating range. I often struggle to sense where the critical moments of the games happen, so I think this will help a lot
I like the multi game concept for several reasons. A) It's new and feels refreshing from a content perspective B) It gives me more opportunites to play guess the move because there are more moves to guess. Really nice from an educational / practice perspective C) Getting to watch how you approach various opening gives me more launch pads to study opening theory Thank you for all your hard work!
As a player who mostly spends his time in the blitz time control, I am hands down in favor for the continuation of this type of speedrun. In addition, I would say that having more games per video is more entertaining. Keep it up.
Hey Danya, the rapid speedrun definitely has more instructional value in the sense that you spend a lot more time explaining your thought process, which to me, is really the meatiest and most valuable part of this. However, as mostly a casual online blitz player, this is genuinely a great concept to improve in a much different facet. Totally in for this! This just changes the value from understanding how a GM plays rapid to understanding how a GM plays blitz
The longer game format is much more useful because the intuition/speed skills are less difficult compared with actual chess knowledge, and mostly comes from practice. Us low/intermediate rated players don't "not understand" why we're slow but we definitely don't understand why we don't win chess positions. Personally i love your 10min/15min speedruns because in-depth explanations of chess help more with my blitz than 'speed skills' which are easier to develop. I'm happy with anything though!
This is a great concept. I really appreciate that each speedrun has its own theme, and it is ambitious of you to attempt to teach something as abstract (but hugely important) as intuition. Rewatching some of your older speedruns, the moments during the analysis where you say "and you can make this move without calculating" was always some of the most instructive parts and I'm happy to see a speedrun dedicated to developing that.
This blitz speedrun is perfect. You've been doing rapid speedruns for over 2 years now and as much as I enjoyed it and have benefited a lot from it, change is also good. It is really easy for content to go stale, so I support this new idea. 🔥
danya i want to thank you because i am going through a really rough break up right now and seeing your notification really cheered me up thanks for all the great educational content and laughs
This is great, however, I really enjoyed the 15|10 rapid format as you really went deep into the explanations of the position and your calculations. I feel like the 15|10 format had by far the most educational value. I watch these speedrun games every night before going to sleep and I have rewatched all your speedruns probably about 3 times already, I love them so much and they help me calm myself down before sleep while developing my chess abilities! Best chess teacher on the internet by a mile! Keep it up Danya✌️
As someone who’s been an avid 15 min speedrun watcher these last few months this is an awesome change of pace. The 15 min games are of course instructive but I love the idea of developing instincts and see more of the thought process in the moment. Perfect example was the first game with the sacrifice. Not a likely move in the 15 min speed run as you were deliberately trying to play solid and disciplined, but seeing a slightly different play style and your main openings from the start is going to be very instructional and entertaining!
Following you for a long time Danya . Your speed runs have really helped me . But I feel 10 or 15 min time control is lot better as a viewers perspective as it really helps to get through your thought process.
I love the format! I'm sure the longer time control provides better content for those using the channel to seriously study, but I'm a casual player and the bite sizes chunks of instinct-focused content have me very excited for your new videos. Feels like the perfect mix of instructive and entertaining content to me!
i would watch Frankfurt Airport 2, 3, 4, ... 100. Danya, the amount of instructive-ness is only limited by how much knowledge you have to give me (the viewer) - and that is always going to be a lot, until I become a grandmaster and the amount of different areas of the games you cover in those games and boy did you go through a lot there. Imo it's perfect and will be just as valuable if you do a part 2. Greatest teacher on anything on youtube, absolute GOAT. Thank you so much.
Your each speedrun is better than the previous one. Masterclass and Sensei speedruns helped me learn chess concepts. Top Theory speedrun helped me to develop an opening repertoire and know exactly how to apply those well known chess concepts, how to grind like a GM, and how to keep on adding pressure. My Blitz is very weak compared to rapid. I hope this speedrun will help me improve that. Don't worry about quality(being the by far most instructional chess person helps). My only request is please keep posting more often. Any type of content is fine. Your videos are what keep my chess love alive in stressful days.
Really helpful content. Excited to continue with this speed run. I’ve only started watching your speed runs recently while recovering from an injury and now I am hooked. I’ll be mining old content as well as following along with the new!
Hey Danya, honestly my feedback would be to continue the speedrun as is. This was super educational in a different way than the previous speedruns. Also 3 games is the perfect amount per video I think. Keep up the great work
New speedrun!!! Yes! I like the longer time controls too, but these blitz games are fun and instructive in their own way. Love all your content Danya, thanks for doing what you do
Hey man, I just want to say thank you for your content. I've been watching your videos for more than 3 years now. Even though things have changed in my life and I have less and less time to sit down and watch a couple of matches, it's always a good time. Always an insane amount of content to learn and study a bit of chess.
I feel like this is going to be a very instructive speedrun (and hopefully more fun to make!). For me personally (who never had a coach) two most instructive moments were: 1) an almost offhand comment at 19:12 (with context start at 18:57) - "this is not a risky move, we're not sacing anything, the knight can drop to e5 [because it is well protected by queen and bishop]". The idea of "before making a risky move, calculate the retreat" is obvious, but the offhandedness is the important part, showing a bit of how GMs think: considering which squares are protected and how well is something that should come as naturally as breathing. 2) the "contact between the pieces" segment at 24:13 is just a great tip for a new mental breakpoint/checkpoint: "ok, when this happen pause to think". Actually, now that I think about it, there was another moment like this in the second game, the "don't excitedly take a piece, look for a better move" (and sure, everyone knows "if you see a good move, look for a better one" but having a live example like this spurs the intuition much more). Please don't take it to yourself, but maybe consider making these when you are a bit more rested? The repeated "there are a million ways" (which you did show! so it was VERY instructive) is somewhat of a tell and it probably affects how you think about explaining things/what you pay attention to (in the context of the lesson). Also forcing yourself to work when you're tired can lead to burnout and that's a bitch and a half to deal with (and it's pretty obvious that you care about the channel a lot, which is a very common thing in cases of burnout - as far as I understand).
Hey hey! 👋 I'm a professional full time trainer (not chess) IRL with a heavy focus on creating learning programs for our teams. I'm very interested in this new format, as I know training works best when it is also entertaining and I do see how this new format provides a lot of entertainment value in addition to the great chess insights and time to cover the concepts. It will definitely cater more towards 1200+ players, but that's a good thing in my opinion. Especially with dedicating some time after games to go over the key moments of the game will still provide good educational moments in combination with your comments like during the games in this video. I do think these will be a bit less educational than the very long game, but not significant. Looking forward to it!
(and to add: With trainings you want to avoid information overload, your long videos are very educational but to maximize their value, you have to rewatch them a lot to actually improve and retain knowledge, whereas focusing on key positions helps digest the information better)
Imo, I believe the 15|10 time control is more instructive, offering greater value than watching 5-minute blitz games, which I feel doesn't enhance one's instincts-though playing them will. Regardless, I'll keep watching because of your exceptional teaching skills and personality.
@mclovin3769 Yes, coz we would get more from it. It's different opponents, different games, and more examples and lessons. And he also did a speed run with 5 min time control before.
this is absolutely legendary Danya!! Loving the 3/4 games format, it makes the analysis more inclined to general concepts in the opening instead of specific variations in the game, which I think offers more instructional value to the greater part of the audience. Thanks for your amazing work, much love
I was disappointed when you mentioned the new speedrun would be blitz only because I assumed we would be getting only 1 game with shorter videos. But I was wrong - Danya never disappoints! Really enjoying the new speedrun.
I really enjoyed the longer instructive videos. The general learning value on all ratings isn’t comparable to anything else on yt. Thinking while the game is being played has much more value for me than analysing afterwards because it is more similar to actually playing myself. Tbh I think I also get more „intuition value“ from the longer speedruns because you often explain several good moves and the general idea why they are good. This (at least for me) creates more intuition than short speedruns. Anyway I love your videos and I am going to watch every speedrun because the quality and value is always high.
Actually some day I would love to see even longer games than the 15 minute format. But in general I think this is basically the perfect length for instructive videos
Honest opinion: very helpful because many people only find the time to play more rapid time controls online; therefore, very instructional. Please continue.
Everything you touch turns to gold! I’ve learned so much from your channel and seen notable improvement in my own games. I get a ton out of your lessons and categorization of certain common chess themes (like type 1 vs 2 undefended pieces, etc) I am rapid player so bias towards the lengthy theory explanations but on board with whatever brings you joy to make! There is no one else that is more instructive at chess! Thank you for sharing all of your hard earned knowledge!
This is Fun but please dont end The 15 minute speedrun... as that gives unparalleled Instructive value( u can play both speedruns in this new speedrun account cause Rapid and Blitz r different rating ladder)
Please continue, this gonna make a perfect combo with you previous speedrun. One develops deep understanding, one develop intuition. Keep it up. Really love your content.
While I do love your videos, I find that games below a minimum of ten minutes lose instructive value. Best is 15+10 imo. Games against higher rated players were instructive and it is usually recommended for beginners not to play blitz. Maybe a healthy mix between the two time controls would be good. Just my two cents
New speedrun. I’m so in baby. Maybe I can finally learn the Grünfeld! You kept recommending it and then never played it in the other speedrun!! Concept sounds very promising. Am very excited Edit: Oh no. Another Kings Indian. Can you at least do 1 game for the Grünfeld and cover the opening? I tried finding some online resources on it but I wasn’t very satisfied with the stuff I found. I hoped you would cover it eventually since we never really got that in the Frankfurt Airport speedrun either
Danya, you're the best! Not only do you put much thought and care into your content, but it's the quality of the thought that is truly inspiring. You are a truly legendary figure.
I like both formats! (rapid + explanations vs blitz + key moments). Would be delighted to see a blitz speedrun interspersed with occasional longer videos. Thanks for the great content!
Intuition is important to be sure, but I personally would prefer 15+10 formats. I went into chess not for the purpose of winning games, but with an eye on the pursuit of beauty. The purpose of each and every move being explained in detail really shows the complicated web of considerations that one has to navigate during longer games, whereas 5min blitz games lack such considerations. Don't get me wrong: 5min blitz can be very useful, I'm sure people will learn from your speedruns still, but for me chess is at its most interesting when the time is taken to properly show the upsides and downsides of each and every move; how one small change on the board changes the entire game so siginificantly is what I learn the most from. Intuition is useful, but I personally think it's best left to the players themselves: their practice of your well-articulated and beautifully paced lessons allows them to develop their styles at a tempo suited best to them. That's how I feel, at least. Thank you for all the speedruns regardless, you're a saint :)
This new format is wonderful, it's the perfect opportunity to learn from your plan-making intuition! I feel like it complements the 15 minute speedruns in the same way puzzlerush complements untimed puzzle study. In that vein, I think 21:53 is both a perfect encapsulation of what I'd like to learn from this speedrun and place to improve - I love that you mentioned being undecided, but I hope in the future you mention briefly what you're looking at and considering when you're deciding between a couple paths, and maybe in the postgame delve into why you were looking at each and why the approaches were so close in appeal (was one a typical plan for the opening, was your eye on a potential weakness from a previous move, did you notice something positionally related, etc.) Love these speedruns, and thank you so much for putting them out to us!
Excellent content. As a long-term viewer of Danya, this is a great switch up compared to previous speedruns. Feels like more bang for our buck! Keen on this series!
Danya, have been watching every speedrun since the original. Really love the new format. Watched these games with my son who is rated 2100, and he really enjoyed it as well so this hits a lot of viewers from early intermediate to advanced. Can't wait for the next round of 5 minute games!
Honest feedback, from another chess creator, your videos are genuinely perfect. We don’t care about the time control we care about your personality and chess wisdom ❤
DANYAAAAA :)))) I really like the new format! I think most of the viewers are new / intermediate players and don't want to get buried in theory. Just enjoy watching you play and explaining the most important ideas. Thank you as always.
I was waiting for this! That's a great concept. Its so instructive for me to see how you react to some "scary" moves. Also this way we see more games, more concepts, more patterns.
I cannot thank you enough for all the content that you make for people loving chess, especially the speedruns. First of all, as a Kings Indian lover, I'm very happy that you're going for it from the beginning and also can't wait to see the course out. The new format is interesting, I found it hard to keep up with all the details during the game, but can always pause on yt and process the info :) The upside of it is that we get more games in, so more ideas to learn.
Loved it. Just what I needed. I love the shorter time control because this is just the kind of thinking I need for my bullet and blitz games. Keep it going!
I really like the concept. The rapid speedruns are incredibly instructive too but it's good to have some variety, and the angle you take of developing intuition is great
Yes! I love this concept! I also wouldn’t mind a series about the art of attacking at different levels. I know that attacking is not cut and paste but I think there is so much to be discussed on the different stages of the attack
Feedback : This is fun to watch and instructive. But, please, don't abandon the rapid speedrun completely. Those videos had a unique charm and often were quite entertaining. The quality and depth of your analysis after those games were extremely instructive.
I really like this as an aditional content to the 10/15 min speedruns. I love playing 5 minute games and for me it's all about intuition. I watch a lot of chess, but I rarly learn theory - it's just kinda boring tbh. But with this video, I can sharpen my intuition and learn what ideas to look for. Love it Danya, keep it up.
I enjoy watching any instructional videos you put out, so whether speedruns, or opening technique, or whatever, as long as you're passtionate about it, that will pass over to your audience.
I will watch anything you do that’s as instructive and entertaining as your previous speed runs. This is great! Always a good day when a new Danya vid drops
love the new format Danya - I'm struggling with 5min format and have been wondering how to improve instincts, so spot on for me. And just love a new speedrun. Thanks
I think the format is really cool. We have several spreedruns now in the longer format. In my opinion, this format will do some things better than the longer formats. It has new focuses and we see several games per video. There are some tradeoffs in that the analysis of each game isnt as deep. But having the variety between the two is very nice and it is refreshing to see a new variation on what has been an incredible series. I also wanted to say thank you for all of the videos. I have found them extremely informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work!
This is perfect. Love the shorter form speed runs with emphasis on decisions rather than theory. Helps with understanding much better for me personally. I hope you continue with this format!
I'm going to watch any speedrun you release no matter what. So this will be great, because literally all the instructional content you make is awesome. And you should do exactly what is most fun and interesting to you. All of that being said, I probably would have a mild preference for 15|10 or 10. But again I will watch anything you put out, so thanks for all of that :)

Following you for a long time Danya . Your speed runs have really helped me . But I feel 10 or 15 min time control is lot better as a viewers perspective as it really helps to get through your thought process.
The goat is back
“I didn’t want to rush the new speed run.” 😂😂 Never has your speed run been more improperly named. Love you and your work Danya!❤❤
PLEASE CONTINUE!!! I’ve been struggling in blitz specifically so this is perfect for me
1:35 I’m honestly happy there is just any speed run, ever 🙏🙏🙏
New format is great!
Love all your content Danya, thanks for doing what you do
+1 for the 15 minute format
We all agree danya is the best coach on UA-cam cuz of you danya I'm almost at 2000 elo
Cap

Hey man, I just want to say thank you for your content. I've been watching your videos for more than 3 years now. Even though things have changed in my life and I have less and less time to sit down and watch a couple of matches, it's always a good time. Always an insane amount of content to learn and study a bit of chess.
Amazing! Can’t wait
wow this instinct speedrun sounds very unique and useful thank you danya 🙏
I feel like this is going to be a very instructive speedrun (and hopefully more fun to make!).
For me personally (who never had a coach) two most instructive moments were:
1) an almost offhand comment at 19:12 (with context start at 18:57) - "this is not a risky move, we're not sacing anything, the knight can drop to e5 [because it is well protected by queen and bishop]".
Also having KID here is perfect!
Rare to see such a high quality comment on UA-cam lol
Love love love this new concept. A greater number of games is basically all I want -- your analysis each game is the real instruction.
Incroyable as always Danya
Best thing is danya starting new speedrun, love you and your content and your personality and everything♥️
This was great, I think this offered different insights to the 15 minute games, I found it very instructive
This format is an excellent change of pace. It presents a different, but necessary skill set. Thank you, Sensei!
Finally a new speed run. That higher level play is over my head.
A new speedrun?? I needed this in my life right now, thanks Sensei
❤ You're the best, Danya!
So happy this new speedrun is blitz. Have a 1 year old and can’t commit to long games anymore and your videos are top tier content for learners.
I like if you explain general ideas of a position or opening rather than go into specific sidelines or move orders.
I like both speedruns
Honest opinion: very helpful because many people only find the time to play more rapid time controls online; therefore, very instructional. Please continue.
Let’s go!!!!!!
New speedrun?? Couldn’t ask for anything more!!
I LOVE this new format.
Thanks again for providing A1 chess education at the peerless price of FREE!! Naroblitzky is a Saint
New speedrun. I’m so in baby. Maybe I can finally learn the Grünfeld! You kept recommending it and then never played it in the other speedrun!!
Concept sounds very promising. Am very excited
Edit: Oh no. Another Kings Indian. Can you at least do 1 game for the Grünfeld and cover the opening? I tried finding some online resources on it but I wasn’t very satisfied with the stuff I found. I hoped you would cover it eventually since we never really got that in the Frankfurt Airport speedrun either
I'd encourage you to look into the hybrid grunfeld slav by FM Christoph Kuberczyk on chessable, I haven't gone through much but its very interesting
Personally not a fan of the shorter time controls as you're not explaining as thoroughly for noobs like myself.
Danya already has many speedruns where he plays long format games and goes into great detail while explaining. Did you really watch them all already?
@@jacokyle0160theres always something new to learn
Excellent content. As a long-term viewer of Danya, this is a great switch up compared to previous speedruns. Feels like more bang for our buck! Keen on this series!
Making teaching look easy when it's so difficult. Thank you very much.
DANYAAAAA :))))
I really like the new format! I think most of the viewers are new / intermediate players and don't want to get buried in theory. Just enjoy watching you play and explaining the most important ideas. Thank you as always.
Love the thumbnail!
The new format is interesting, I found it hard to keep up with all the details during the game, but can always pause on yt and process the info :)
The upside of it is that we get more games in, so more ideas to learn.
Loved it. Just what I needed. I love the shorter time control because this is just the kind of thinking I need for my bullet and blitz games. Keep it going!
I really like the concept. The rapid speedruns are incredibly instructive too but it's good to have some variety, and the angle you take of developing intuition is great
For me, you can do literally anything you like. I don't even play chess really, lol. I just like watching the master at work!
Danya - this new format kicks ass. I mostly play 5 minute games, I’m around 1100, and this content is perfect for me. Thank you!
Love it Danya, keep it up.
this is what we've all been waiting for. the first speed run was the best, which i liked because it was 5 minutes
I love this new format especially because you get through more games in a video
Love it, please keep it up. Blitz skills are really deciding, and it's what most people struggle with
This is perfect.
