Thank you Vernon. My best guess in regard to the accuracy issue is that: maybe the chamber reamer was machined to an excessively large diameter. I base this theory on my recollection of C.E. (Ed) Harris’s article: Getting The Best From Your 22 Rimfire: Know what matters and save a lot of effort’ in Ken Warner (Ed.) Gun Digest 1992, pp. 148-60. The most critical factor that Harris isolated, in regard to rimfire accuracy is: chamber diameter. He also discovered that for general use in a magazine rifle, the best compromise was a .22lr match chamber, as used in competition self-loading pistols. It has the match diameter at the front of chamber, sporting diameter at the back of the chamber; and match chamber length. Harris’s article kick-started the modern trend of highly accurate .22lr repeaters at sensible prices and revealed the true story behind those horribly unbalanced fat-barrelled Ruger 10-22 rifles. Classic ‘follow the leader’ nonsense! The fact that so many writers have chosen to suppress mention of Harris’s role is worse-in my opinion-than W.W. Greener’s notorious vagueness regarding competitor’s names. At least Greener made occasional mention thereof. Cheers from NZ🇳🇿. P.S. Please wait a month or so if you would like further details on Harris’ articles in the 1992 and 1993 GD editions. Those works have been packed for a house move.
I bought one these for my son about a year ago now. Unfortunately i didn't do my research before hand. Paid $729 CAD for the Gillie green one. However i have managed to get 1 moa groups out of it with Club Master (RWS type ammo) my savage fv sr gets better groups for less then have the money.
Match ammunition? The only match ammunition you tested was Eley. The other 5 are bulk pack junk. With that said, the accuracy of the Springfield 2020 is poor.
Everyone is down talking the 2020. I got one for myself because.. it literally has every feature you would want on a rimfire. accuracy is multifarious. it’s a combo of your setup. the 2020 is the most accurate with Aguila standard or center x. I’m still not sure if it’s the manufacturing or the velocity that’s making those two brands the best out of the rifle… but it shoots fine and is very accurate. there are 20 diffrent factors as to why you may have a bad grouping. it’s foolish to blame it all on the barrel.
Only 1 of those ammunitions was match ammo. The rest were just run of the mill basic plinking ammo. Great video though! That thing is worthless. My KSA Crickett 722 Varmint was less and will outshoot that by 3 times all day every day! Have yet to see one of these shoot well 😢 Thanks for the honest review!! 👍
@@UltimateArms oh cool 😎 👌 Can't wait to see it. I have no doubt that Springfield has horrible results with any ammo you feed it! They should actually do a recall. That rifle is pathetic. I am like you and think it is more than likely the barrel.

@bigdady1998 I wish I could have got better ammo but yet the Tikka t1x shot under 1moa on 5 of the 7 same ammo
Sounds like charging premium price for low quality import. Has good features, but those don’t make it accurate. Thx for your review.
If it didn’t come with a garbage barrel I would think it is a awesome set up lol

5 out of 7 of the same 22lr ammo shot below 1 inch. so its not the ammo LOL
@@UltimateArms no, I didn't think it was at all. 😉🫡
