Day 4 of the 28-Day Art Challenge! Today, I’m testing how Aquapasto affects Derwent Tinted Charcoal. Will it blend smoothly or create unpredictable textures? Let’s see! 💬 Join the discussion: 1⃣ Have you tried mixing charcoal with watercolor mediums before? 2⃣ What’s your favorite way to add texture to watercolor paintings?
I love this. Your first few lines make the distant mountains, and the rest looks like prairie grasses in my view. Some deep plum would make the mountain range pop. I may try that tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
I agree, the lines look like distant mountains! It's all about perspective. I wanted to add some plumb colored lines but ran out of time. Thanks for watching! 😍
I love how honest you are..." I don't hate that"..." that colour doesn't look horrible" Did you ever think of doing a class at the Indianapolis art center?
Haha! Before I started making videos this was my inner dialogue. Teaching a class sounds fun but I live in Kansas. Might be a long commute. Thanks my friend! 😍🤣
Amazing what can be achieved in 10 minutes … I love these quickie challenges, and I’m so pleased I discovered aquapasto a few months back. Have fun … 😘
Hi Trina, this one had a cold feeling and the white areas looked like snow, creating a lovely image. I used chisel tipped pen, grafite pencils. a sanguine crayon, and fine white Posca in my 10 min sketch today. The subject was a very old stone cottage that stands empty, in lovely surroundings.......Thanks Trina......Alioban 💖
Watching from the bottom of Africa, while the landscape outside looks just like your painting today. Love these inspiring ten minute exercises to start my days inspired. Thanks for giving us your time.
I can’t imagine what more you could do to add to this one! Gorgeous! I’ll have to try the charcoal and acrylic retarder and see what happens. It worked well with watercolor paint (as posted over on Patreon under art supplies for anyone wondering). On track with day four. Posted on Patreon. Thanks for the challenge!
Yes! Definitely post on how that technique works for you. And you know I could always add more. Haha! That’s why I love the time limit. Keeps me from over marking. Off to check out your day four piece on Patreon! 😍
You never disappoint. I did a ten minute painting today then got a new set of supplies. I opened them, walked past my painting, stopped and spent 10 more minutes. Does that count as two? Lol

I am learning so much from these quick exercises. I’m curious, how you are using Aquapasto? Thanks my friend. 😍

That sounds so great Alison! How do you like the Posca pens? I can never get them to work. Haha!

It's amazing how similar landscapes can be across the globe! Thanks for watching my friend! 😍

It totally counts! What new supplies did you receive? I’m nosey. Thanks my friend. 😍
