Might be in the minority, but I really liked the Michael Myers cameo in Ends.
😂😂
I agree! Almost as good as his cameo in season of the witch.
Is a record right? A 8 minutes cameo.
Epic comment.
He shouldn’t be a cameo in his own movie though😂😭
To this day, I still think Halloween 2018 is one of the best Halloween films in a longgg time. I feel like it was a great opportunity for people to feel afraid of Michael, and root for Laurie again . Compared to the more goofy and chaotic takes on his character in the past, it was a great modern adaptation of Michael Myers
Agreed. There are some continuity issues with 2018 being that it picks up after H1 but I still really like it
@@CompeteDefeat True, but I feel like the flashbacks in Kills fixed a lot of the issues, showing Michael's capture in 1978.
Agreed. Personally it’s number 2 on my list
I still dint root for Laurie lol matter of fact I wanted her killed of in kills
It's the worst. Wasteful plots/characters, entirely contrived storyline and dialogue, memeification of michael myers ruining the character worse than resurrection, the only redeeming qualities being shot for shot ripped off from previous movies and adding nothing new of value. The Force Awakens of Halloween and like it responsible for it's own abysmal trilogy, at least Resurrection was rightfully panned and didn't spawn off any more abominations.
I understand some issues with humor and Dr. Sartain but I genuinely adore Halloween 2018.
A classic
Same, best Halloween movie in a long time
Same man i really appreciate what they did with it i just don't like what they did with the sequels although i do actually like ends but yeah that ending of it is just so random in my opinion and even though i don't absolutely hate it i do hope there's going to be an alternate version with possibly the original story before all the rewriting cause im pretty sure they did film some stuff with the original script but not positive on that.
I liked Dr.Sartain.
I love it honestly, it's probably the one I rewatch most cause. some of the humor lands with me too, especially vicky and julian

"Be passionate in a friendly way."
Cody, well said. Folks just need to learn that we can all respectfully disagree and still be friends. Great stuff once again, sir!
Shut up
Man, i used to disagree with you on so much about this franchise and yet i comeback every single review cause i just love that you always stay true to yourself and don't let others fog your judgement that's pretty remarkable in my opinion. Great job man you really are a one-of-a-kind film reviewer, and now that your almost at 100k subs i cant wait till you get to that big 1 mill which im sure will happen in the next few years if not sooner.
Thank you!
@@CodyLeachYT WE LOVE YOU, CODY!
Same. I disagree with some of his takes/rankings, but you can tell Cody is knowledgeable about the franchise. Keeps me coming back. After all, who needs an echo chamber of opinions. That's boring.
@@CodyLeachYT Halloween Ressurection is fun to me and corny and kind of stupid but I like
Cody having Halloween 4 at his #3 spot is the definition of character development. Great list brother! So close to 100K!!!
If only part 4, had like that mask from Halloween Curse, it would be a near perfect Halloween movie...I love Part 4
Yes!! It’s so good and totally underrated.
Halloween 4 is amazing
@@jasoncarpenter1331 I dont think the Mask in H4 is as bad as alot of people say it is, Yes, it's not a great mask but it is creepy in alot of scenes and it perfectly captures a blank stare, Again it's not a great mask but i dont think it's as bad as alot of people say it is. I think people write it off just because it looks goofy in just 2 scenes.
SPOILERS WHAT THE FUCK
Great list. Personally I hated Halloween ends with a passion, to the point I was sitting in the theatre getting so angry😂 I almost left early but stuck with it. I’m not a reviewer like you so I’ll likely never see it again and I’m very happy with that! Great overal list. I know I don’t comment all the time now but I’m always supporting from a distance!
Most of the time you want to end it early you just should, why suffer, I done the same with jurassic world dominion, only sat through it because thought my gf might be enjoying it, but ends up she hated it to and also wanted to go lol
@@nemesis8626 well that was the same really, my girlfriend was there and she paid! So it would of been rude to leave😂
That’s a respectful opinion in my opinion ends is still not as bad as ressurection or zombies second film or Halloween 5
Halloween 5 was the first Halloween movie I saw. As a 10-12 year old staying up late on Halloween watching TV, I came across this movie and was intrigued. I realized how messy it is now, but nostalgia makes it better. It's probably number 5 or 6 on my list.
The laundry chute scene in 5 is one of the best of the franchise
I might be crazy for this but H5 is actually 5th place in my Halloween list just slightly above Halloween Kills (I know this is VERY controversial) But i just can't hate H5 and every time i watch it i always find another excuse to like it even more even if i dont intend to like it more.
@Leonardo Well alot of my love for H5 comes from Nastalgia so alot of my opinions on why i like H5 is probably from Personal Bias towards it, dont get me wrong i completely agree why people hate it, cause it introduces alot of Bullshit plots, but i also think H5 has some good qualities in it that alot of people dont give it credit for.
@@eriklakeland3857 Same that scene and Tina dying when she did, just stops it from being worse than Resurrection for me. I still think Tina should have died like 50 minutes earlier but when she does die I can watch the rest of the movie without being too pissed off until the man in black shit at the very end when he breaks Michael out, when Loomis beats Michael to a pulp and collapses the movie should have ended right there and the man in black and Thorne stuff should have been taken out altogether and it’s my second worst in the franchise.
As a huge supporter of Halloween 4, I'm happy that it's grown on you. I think what your top 4 all has in common is that almost all the human characters in those films are either sympathetic or they have likable qualities. That makes Michael's evil stand out more and makes them more enjoyable to watch.
H4 was one of the first scary movies I saw as a kid. H20 and 4 are special in that way for me.
@@whodatking26 H20 was the first horror movie I ever watched (maybe second to Scream; it was around the same time).
I discovered 4 and 5, years later when they came on AMC, and found it strange that the series had two different timelines after 2 lol.
@@OrthoLou Yea as a younger kid I didn't get the multiple timeline thing, it took me so long to actually wrap my head around the movie industry part of it all to get the difference between certain movies. I remember pretending as if Jamie Lee Curtis never died after H20 as a kid 😂
@@OrthoLou and honestly I missed scream as a kid/teenager lol I know I'm an outcast I missed out on one of the greatest scary movies of our time but somehow I just didn't watch it at the right age. I have come to appreciate it for what it is tho no doubt about that.
Halloween 4 is great the mask is just annoying
Less than 2k subs away from 100k, LETS GO you’re finally getting that Silver play button like you deserve Cody!
We needed a solo Joe Grizzly prequel
Cody I’m glad you’ve come a long way with Halloween 4, this has been one of my favorites for a long time and I enjoyed seeing you gradually appreciate it more and more as your channel grew and time went on!
I've always love Halloween 3. I would have loved to have seen more of the anthology movies
I find myself in so much agreement with a lot of your rankings, so I literally rewatched RZH2 to see if I missed anything and every minute of it still makes me die inside.
I love how your list is much different than most of the lists I’ve seen. Great video as always.
Watched Halloween 4 last night on Shudder! Thanks for the Shudder recommendation, glad to see it in your top 3!
H4 will always have a soft spot for as I got to meet George Wilbur when I was 13. Cool dude! As a kid it used to be in AMC more than any of the other Halloween movies. I’ve seen 4 more than of the movies except the OG
I actually really like Halloween kills.mainly because of the Halloween vibe.and the kills are awesome
Me too, it’s really overhated when it comes to peoples it’s complaints, when it has more Pros then Cons and is amazing journey of a film throughout, it’s Michael’s film.
@@ajaysbooth Overhated as hell. It's a great movie with some flaws (mainly the unnatural dialogue and some dumb character decisions) but goddamn, these flaws are not so bad, just have fun with the movie! Noticed a dumb dialogue moment? Laugh at it, move past it. Kills looks great, has great pacing, good acting, great kills, some cool social commentary... It's very overhated
ua-cam.com/video/VNwm8uLzuw8/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/8BP2Eac4mFM/v-deo.html
The evil dies tonight thing was a satire on mob mentality & it is a huge trope in slashers, so for me those are justifiable flaws tbh wit ya
@27:05 - Saw Halloween 3 in the theater as a kid, and it was awesome :) I still remember it to this day, esp. the intro credits with that opening theme and the analog synths.
I 100% agree with Halloween 4. I actually have it as my 2nd favorite of the franchise. Every time I watch it, it gets better and better besides the mask like you said lmao. I just think it captures that Halloween atmosphere like the original did, and the pacing is phenomenal.
I love how Cody despises H5 😅
After finding your channel recently and I have gone back and watched many of your videos....I have so say you are very fair and always look at both sides of the films you review!!! Definitely agree with the ranking of these movies!!! 🎃
Cody’s the only UA-camr I can watch a video that’s an hour lol love this guy
I honestly love how much videos you put out. Im always lookin for new videos from people i enjoy listening too.
Part 4 is one of my favorites as I've re-watched the films more and more. The music does it for me the most, I love the cold opener.
Thank you, Cody, for keeping Halloween III: Season of the Witch at your number two for all these rankings. That movie is a masterpiece of underrated horror cinema and DESERVES to be seen as a part of this franchise. The story, characters, and atmosphere really come together to create a fun and entertaining film that SHOULD be treated as on par with the original 1978 film because it really is better than ALL of the Myers sequels and most horror movies in general. 🎃🎃🎃
I think by now more people like H3 than they don’t.
💯
I need 2 sit down & really watch Season of The Witch
Watched it a couple weeks ago. It's a fantastic horror movie and definitely a classic.
Great point about the Myers masks. I’ll never understand why they struggled so much to get it right. Halloween 4 is a great movie but imagine if they actually got the mask right too, and I would have liked if they just rocked the Halloween 6 mask for the entire run time of H20; I feel like if they did that it could easily stay in most peoples top 5. What are your thoughts?
my exact thoughts during Halloween Ends "perhaps I treated you too harshly, Halloween Kills"
😂
Hype that you finally are coming around to Halloween 4…. It’s awesome I love it soooo much!
I can’t wait for you to rank the timelines😊❤️❤️❤️. I feel like there isn’t a lot of conversation about what timeline is the best timeline and has a great storyline. I make my own timelines for fun; I don’t acknowledge Halloween: Resurrection when I watch my favorite timeline of all-time.
Thats a great idea is he doing this?
I’ve always loved Rob Zombie’s H2!! I love the unique twist on the psychology and unconscious minds of the characters.
Here’s my ranking. I know it’s different than most Halloween fans, but it’s my opinion 💀
1. RZ H2
2. RZ H1
3. Halloween 1978
4. Halloween 4
5. Halloween 2 (1981)
6. Halloween Kills
7. Halloween 6
8. Halloween (2018)
9. Halloween Ends
10. Halloween 3 Season of the Witch ☘️
11. Halloween 5
12. H20
13. Halloween Resurrection
I finally found somebody that also absolutely adores Rob Zombie’s Halloween films! Just love the realistic portrayal of Michael and basically the whole film. Also the kills are absolutely brutal in both films! But yeah I definitely have RZ films in my top 3!
I liked RZ Halloween, it’s probably the best 2000s horror remake. But I absolutely hated the second one
This is legit my exact list just swapping around ends and 2018
Wow now that's different. I liked RZ H1 a lot when I saw it. I didn't mind the background of the of Michael but I hate the dialog of the family & he always finds a way 2 include Cherry
It’s awesome seeing totally different rankings. Halloween is the craziest franchise with rankings 😂
This was definitely different but enjoyable to watch 🤘
Great list Cody !!! Love your in depth analysis !!
Great list! Halloween 4 is my second favourite of the franchise! I’m happy to see it move up more and more.
Been waiting for this one 🤩 thanks Cody!
Waiting on this one! Thanks for doing what you do.
And CONGRATS on your subs! Almost @ 100k 🤘💀🔥
Halloween 4 is still my favorite Halloween movie. It's like the original but done with more layers, more excitement and I do prefer Rachel to H1-H2 Laurie and little Jamie
Facts halloween 4 is the goat
I love it 11/10
Don’t care bout the mask affecting the overall movie I still fucking love this Danielle Harris as Jamie lloyd was perfect the ending was good the start and introduction was good the middle was good oh my god I can talk a lot about how I love this movie
Rachel was a dope character
I love how different opinions can be and especially enjoy people's reasons for their choices and the insight it gives that can make you see a film in a different light.
I’m just happy on this reviewers that everybody has different opinions and everybody is OK with that because I’ve seen or people judge other peoples opinions and criticize them but I’m like everybody has different opinions we all are not agree on the same movie but I’ve seen people get upset because they like certain movies are to have different opinions so nice actually see not nobody getting upset because somebody thinks differently
@@tammiepage6489 so true. It's nice to just read all the different opinions here as there are so many and if someone disagrees with my thoughts about the films that's fine. We all see things differently or chime with things others don't.
Love how fast you got the shirt! Keep the videos coming!
Since H ends release I respect you even more as a movie reviewer. Thank you for always for lack of a better phase #keepin it 💯. Thanks for all the Great Halloween content and honest views.
Cody your Videos always make my day! Thank you so much!
Halloween 3: season of the witch is so iconic. I genuinely felt so unsettled the whole time and the story is so good, I love it so much
Cannot wait for 31 on 31 or a regular ranking video on werewolf movies and , vampire movies (separate videos lol) , etc version going be a crazy ranking video. # Cody Leach #huge fan
Great video Cody. Bummed out that now it’s uncertain when we get another movie for you to update this ranking for a 5th time.
Just did a rewatch of SotW this week. Very enjoyable. I used to hate it when I was a kid, but I blame it being played over and over again on tv. I'm eternally curious as to what the franchise could have been had it kept going with the different stories.
Hey Cody! I'm always excited to see you talk about anything Halloween with it being my favorite horror franchise of all time, and see how your opinions compare to mine when it comes to certain things like masks, Michael Myers portrayals, movies, etc. It's always fascinating to hear your takes on everything because it's what I love about film discussions the most, so here's my official ranking on the Halloween franchise as of right now before I continue on with your video here:
13. Halloween Resurrection
12. RZ's Halloween 2
11. RZ's Halloween
10. Halloween 5
9. Curse of Michael Myers
8. Season of the Witch
7. Halloween Kills
6. H20
5. Halloween Ends (this one could go up or down based on future rewatches)
4. Halloween 2
3. Halloween 4
2. Halloween '18
1. Halloween '78
Narly ranking there my dude 👌🎃🔪🔥🍻👍
@@kainkong274 I appreciate it! What I found interesting the most (just as how Cody mentioned in his ranking) was how Halloween 4 shot up my list the most I watch it, I just keep finding more there that I just love and it's a movie that I can just have on in the background as just noise to set the Halloween mood in my house (as the same goes for my other 2 in the top 3).
@@tjcalhoun5705 nice!
Hey Cody, first time I've viewed your channel and I absolutely love it! Will definitely check out the rest. List is spot on, but I do have a soft spot for Resurrection as a good-bad movie, and Kills as a slasher parody.
Man your loaded this october, fist reviewing Halloween Ends, the another Halloween tier ranking, and another ranking of the movies, AWESOME work as always. Here's my ranking
13. Halloween 5 (1.5/5
12. Halloween: Resurrection (1.5/5)
I like the rest from here on out
11. Rob Zombies Halloween (2.5/5)
10. Halloween Ends (2.75/5)
9. Halloween Kills (3/5)
8. Halloween 6 (3.5/5)
7. Halloween ll 1981 (3.75/5)
6. Halloween 2018 (3.75/5)
5. Rob Zombies Halloween ll (4/5)
This movie has REALLY grown on me, when I first watched it I thought it was ok but never loved it like you and Drumdums did, but the more I re-watch it and talk about I started to appreciate it more and like it more
4. Halloween 3 (4.5/5)
3. Halloween H20 (4.5/5)
2. Halloween 4 (4.75/5)
1. Halloween 1978 (5.5🎃)
Cody your getting closer and closer too 100 thousand subscribers you excited
Respect for sharing this list! Some horror fans can be scarier than Michael is when they find out about your opinion
Cody pretty much has the exact same take on _Halloween Ends_ that I do, since watching it yesterday. Of course, I couldn't put it that well, like he did, but totally ticks every bit of what I felt watching it.
This guy already did a tier list for these movies but still doing a ranking???
Great job doing more than you need to, Cody🎉
Tier list & ranking is not the same. If you think it’s too much - don’t watch. But I see you even took the time to comment, so… 🤷♂️
I love how you have always stood up for RZ’s H2. It shows real character when you always stand by a film regardless what others think. I also think it’s interesting you view H1, H2 and H4 a complete trilogy. Yeah I’m also likewise pretty letdown by the new trilogy and the good thing of Halloween having many timelines is that you can literally pick the films and make a continuity of your own. My ranking:
Halloween (1978)
Halloween 4
Halloween 3: Season of the Witch
Halloween (2018)
Halloween 2
RZ’s Halloween
H20
Halloween Ends
Halloween Kills
Halloween 6
Halloween 5
RZ’s Halloween 2
Halloween Resurrection
I think H4 would’ve been a perfect ending for the original timeline. Michael dies,Loomis finally snaps, and Jamie will probably grow up to continue her Uncle’s work...infinitely better then both H6 endings
His H2 reviews made me a subscriber years ago. I love the theatrical cut of that film and watch it every year at least. Feel it is the better version of what Ends was trying to do by exploring what Micheal and tragedy can do to you.
4 was much better than people give credit for. Ends was atrocious! Still better than JasonX though not that that says much. 😄
@@CompeteDefeat 4 seems to get some hate nowadays for not being “innovative” enough or something. I could honestly care less cuz it arguably has the best characters in the series and the gas station showdown is my all time favorite Dr. Loomis scene.
@@mtb5431 What was that line Randy says in Scream? "You get too complicated you lose your target audience." It doesn't have to be innovative to be entertaining. And yes, you have to care about the characters which alot of horror movies aren't good at executing.
You are so right, everyone has their own opinions about these movies, and where they would rank them. Why people get so ridiculous about it is beyond me. I haven't seen the brand new one yet, so can't rank them all. However, my favorite one is the OG Halloween and my least favorite few are Kills, Resurrection, and the Rob Zombie versions. Always enjoy watching your ranks bro ✌️🎃
I see people strongly opinionated about the movies, as am I, but I don’t see the toxicity towards others that everybody is talking about. And I hated Ends with a passion too. Almost left as well, but my brother was like “we gotta stay bro.. 😂” Just wasn’t for me.
@@Fearless3773 haha, that's pretty funny. I've heard lots of people say Ends is horrible, and the reviews aren't kind either. Probably means I won't enjoy it either, but who knows 🤔
close to 100K !!
goal Halloween Day !! LFG
one of the best rankings out there cody!
I’m glad you didn’t put ends as the worst. Cause as a movie it’s not bad. Definitely not the worst. Great list.
This ranking is a tradition at this point lol
Great rating! My vulcaninc ranking is:
1. Halloween Kills
2. Halloween Ends
3. OG Halloween
4. 2018 Halloween
5. Season of the Witch
6. Halloween II
7. Halloween H20
8. Halloween 4
9. Curse of Michael
10. Rob's Halloween
11. Rob's Halloween II
12. Halloween 5
13. Halloween Resurrection
Awesome
@@kainkong274 Hahaha thanks! I understand the hate for Kills and Ends but I love how stupid is Kills and while I agree with Cody it kinda falls flat at the end with Cody, I loved the whole new take. But I used to love 2018 over the OG but upon rewatch it went down a few positions. So who knows? Maybe upon rewatch Kills and End my rating will change.
@@ventsmag that’s perfectly fine
@@ashtoncollins868 hahah thanks!
Just throwing it out there. You’re the reason I like RZH2. The first time I watched it I thought it was trash. Then I watched your review and watched it again with an open mind and liked it quite a bit. So I’m with you on it. Btw, beyond happy that 4 has climbed so much for you. I’ve always loved it and defended it. Great Halloween film and perhaps even the best opening credits sequence of the series.
I was hopping the Leach interrogation tapes would returned lol fun fact I was listening your 2018 Halloween review. I was feeling sleepy. The loud jump scare woke me up lol
Also, I think it’s STRANGE that the supposed force behind why Michael Myers can’t die aka Moustapha Akkad, is the person who was like “yeah! We need busta rhymes in resurrection” lol.
I am also glad that even Sean chandler has come around on Halloween 3! It used to be in his bottom 4, and this time it was in his top 5!
Really? Interesting.
Nice video, man! For me-
H78, Kills, H2, H18, H4, HEnds, H20, H6, H5, RZH2, HR, RZH1 (with a big drop off after H20)
Awesome ranking bro, my favorite is h1 and h2 as a whole since they flow together like one big Awesome halloween movie.
I love how higher H4 is on your list. #3 wow. 😁
Rachel is my favorite final girl of all time.
H4 is my favorite sequel.
I like Rachel but I think that Jamie is a bit better than Rachel I was ducking broken when I learned that Rachel was fucking killed off I hated that then when obviously Jamie dies in the next movie even known it’s a different actor
My main issue with Ends is that when I watch a Halloween movie I want to be watching/fearing Michael Myers. This movie never gave me that feeling because of the completely different directions it went in. Didn’t really enjoy it but can still watch it. 3/5
Can definitely tell there were 2 many ideas n the pot
Appreciate how you’re willing to adjust rankings for these movies over time! For me 2018 is probably my favorite after the original but do agree with a lot of the points you made. I’m pretty with you in regards to being mixed on Ends but overall would say positive on that one. Am with the majority in disliking the second RZ movie tho…
Love your rankings! Like some the same & some are exact opposite 😂 Halloween is my favorite franchise so some of the things you mentioned might bother me do, but I agreed with many things you said, esp for H4 & H20. 🎃
There’s just something about H2 (1981). I get that some people don’t like the increased gore and feel like it takes away from the creepiness, but not for me. I think H2 was such a perfectly crafted second chapter to the night he came home. IMO it’s an upgrade on 1978 in every way.
A hospital is always creepy 2 me so that's a plus. I have H2 high on my list
It’s the best sequel imo

@Cody I will forever share your rage at that god awful mask in 4 and I will need therapy and the lord to know why you love Zombie's Halloween 2 but I adore an respect your consistency :). Always fun to see different points of view
I respect how your opinion is honest rather than going along with the crowd just because a huge majority of the fanbase dislikes the same films. I personally dislike Zombie’s Halloween II, but I’m glad you enjoy it and see something in it that most others don’t.
Looking forward to the mask tier ranking.
Halloween 2018 is underrated for me. Reignited my love for the franchise
Not underrated. It’s the highest grossing Halloween film
Not underrated but definitely good
Cody: Temper your emotions towards the franchise as you may enjoy the boldness of Halloween 2...
Also Cody: Gets emotional when talking about the masks in H20 and Halloween 4...
Solid list (despite Zombie's Halloween 2) and as always, fun video....
Btw: Totally agree with Halloween 4, very surprised you didn't mention that great ending. Also Halloween 3 rules!!!!
Great review
If Halloween 4 had a better mask it would probably be #2 for me. Really fun film and really gives off Halloween vibes. Love watching it every October.
Completely agree
Halloween 4 is an interesting one. Some of the finer details are done really superbly, the eerie intro, the soundtrack etc. great ending. But I find the bulk of it in between to be a little on the boring side
Literally the only negative about the movie honestly
1. Halloween 1978 (one of my favorite movies of all time)
2. Halloween 2018
3. Halloween Kills
4. Halloween H20
5. Halloween II 1981
6. The Return of MM
7. Halloween Ends
8. Halloween 2007
9. The Curse of MM
10. Resurrection
11. The Revenge of MM
12. Halloween II 2009
13. Season of the Witch
Good ranking Cody.
I'd place Zombie's H2, and H20 a little lower, but that's just me.
Off the top of my head, here's my ranking:
1. Halloween (Classic on the level of Psycho. Yes maybe a tad overrated, and a little slow at points, but a legit classic, and rather classy horror film that helped raise the bar. Excellent cliffhanger ending)
2. Halloween 2 1981' (Terrific visual palette, great Myers, spooky location, best chase in the series in the boiler room and elevator location, nice Halloween season vibe, good kills and a solid finale)
3. Halloween Ends (Decent opening scene, great Myers despite him being weak, some interesting themes and imagery, some good kills and FX, a solid finale in the kitchen and ballsy death for Myers. Not all bad, just not entirely what a final film should have been. Needed a little more Myers on his own, and better pacing at times)
4. Halloween 2018 (I don't love any of the new films BTW. A solid new entry with Laurie back, some good kills, a nice first stalking reintroduction with Myers, interesting if sloppy twist with Sartain, and a cool idea for the finale setting. A+ Myers as well, but I still can't rate the film higher than a C+)
5. Halloween 4 (Solid entry, but a little bland and with a lame Myers mask. HATE how Myers "dies".)
6. Tie between Halloween Kills and Halloween 6 theatrical cut. (Kills is a dumb fun music video comic book, Curse has scares and is much creepier though. Both feature a great Myers)
7. Halloween 3 (Love the look of this film and the ideas! Visually it looks like H2 the most)
8. Halloween H20 (Vanilla, bland, bad Myers mask for much of it, too Scream like... music, but good plot and a nice way to kill off Myers!)
9. Halloween 2007 (Yuck, but the final 15 minutes isn't the worst ending to a film. Liked the empty pool location, and some of the photography at night is pretty good)
10. Halloween 5 (Mostly boring junk, but there is a pinch of decent mood, and a couple of good kills. Laundry shoot scene was inspired!)
11. H2 2009 (I dislike most of this, but the idea at the hospital in the opening was fine, and I liked the dead bodies piled up outside the hospital)
12. Resurrection (Sort of a good idea for an early 2000's film, but lame execution all around. Awful Laurie death)
Intresting ranking
Loved the ranking, do you think it would be a good idea to ever do a remake or sequel to Season of the Witch?
Would love to hear your thoughts
I-m a Halloween hardcore fan and I loved H2, I found his brutality cool.
13 H5-boring
12 Resurrection-disrespect
11 H ends-disrespect
10 H6-weird but enjoyable
9 RZH2-weird but enjoyable
8 H20-solid but not a favorite
7 RZH-weird first half but awesome second half
6 H3sow-best non Michael Halloween
5 H2- solid follow up
4 H18-bad writing but satisfying
3 H4-technically better than my number two by a lot but certain things hold it back
2 Hkills- bad writing but best for watching Michael fk people up
1 H1 the og- best writing, amazing movie, iconic for a reason.
I think I watched first halloween yesterday, it felt very slow, dull, and if that has best writing, oh boy, then I better avoid others xd
@@amirphoenix2327 fair enough, I would hope you actually tried to get invested and paid attention to the subtle genius taking place more so with cinematography and the delivery of the concept. It’s not the best movie ever but it’s undeniably one of the best ever in its execution. I don’t like making assumptions but I assume that you had some sort of preconceived notion of how you would feel about the movie going into it and just ran with that. I also assume you were taking your eyes off the movie quite often between your phone and whatever else was going on in the house. I could be wrong but I find it hard to believe that someone could give their full attention to the movie, paying attention to the subtle but interesting nuances and not at least coming away with appreciation for the movie if not all out enjoyment.
@@garthsegura4440 this movie has amazing soundtrack, great directing, but it has some serious pacing problems, nothing is really happening in first hour, it lost me, seeing Mike too many times in that first hour doing nothing, just standing or driving is not so interesting after a while, it is scary in the beggining but not that many times, suspense is happening in last 15 minutes, and I didn't gave a shit anymore
@@amirphoenix2327 well I can’t fault you for that. I appreciate the slow tense build up with the silent stalking to the eventual climax of affective albeit tame gore. I can see where you’re coming from especially if you’re on the younger side and you’re used to a faster paced mor dynamic and eventful story, but I appreciate how Halloween does what it does with what it had. I’ve seen all kinds of horror movies and while I prefer the more intense side of horror, I love the subtlety and creep factor Halloween has. Though I love Michael, the real star of the show in the original movies for me is loomis. The way he describes the killer and his delivery always captivates me in a way that no other horror movie has without some sort of intensity or amped up carnage candy.
Point about halloween 5 that makes that sequel go down for me by alot, is the fact the Myers house became a castle instead of the familiar suburban house
I was literally looking this up from u but u came thru 🙏
Love Part 3
Great list Cody! Here's mine-
13. Zombieween 2
12. Resurrection
11. Halloween 5
10. Curse of Michael Myers
9. Zombieween
8. Halloween Kills
7. Halloween Ends
6. Halloween H20
5. Season of the Witch
4. Halloween 2
3. Halloween 4
2. Halloween 2018
1. Halloween 1978
Good list💪
Kills is better than ends
@@neiloconnor7776 As a Michael Myers/Halloween film Maybe, but as a film as a whole, No. The characters, acting and dialogue was completely atrocious in kills....
Great list bro
Id swap 2018 for 2 (1981)
Hi Cody,
What Halloween movie do you think has the most carnage candy in it? Mine is a toss-up between Rob Zombies Halloween 2 or Halloween Kills.
Cody is going to get the best Halloween treat ever...reaching 100,000 subscribers!!!
I like the Rob Zombie Halloween movies. They’re the ones I usually watch when I’m in the mood to watch Halloween movies.
SAME!
Rob zombie's Halloween 2 might not be perfect but from Lori's post traumatic stress angle it's more realistic than in that of 2018
Facts
I don't think so, I mean Getting attacked by Evil itself in a Human body and nothing you do kills it then it just disappears and can strike at any moment, also she had all her best friends killed on that night which basically adds insult to injury.. Literally, and then you just have to walk it off like nothing ever happened. Without venting to anyone about it this would kill her inside, i mean that would definitely kill me inside.
Dude, ur dumb…literally everything in 2018 is better than dogshit RZH2
Your list is nuts but still a good watch though (for laughs!). Thanks for the video 🙈
Id love to see an updated slaylist of the Halloween franchise :)
My ranking (disclaimer: haven’t seen H3 yet)
1. Halloween 1978 - the GOAT
2. Halloween Kills - first Halloween movie I’ve ever seen in theaters and had an awesome experience seeing it. This movie is badass, and best Myers IMO
3. Halloween 2018 - really good follow up to the OG
4. Halloween 2 - I really like myers in this, in my opinion one of the best, and has just a creepy atmosphere and great kills
5. Halloween 4 - entertaining movie, good characters, but yeah the worst mask
6. Halloween Ends - weekest out of the newer trilogy IMO. A lot of things I do like about this movie but there’s also a lot of stuff I hate don’t like about, ending was satisfying, it was fine. I get the story they were telling, but it just didn’t fit for me. Especially when it’s the last movie in the trilogy. I can respect them making bold moves, but it just was wrong timing. 5.5/10
7. Halloween H20 - honestly this movie is kinda basic IMO one of the worst myers IMO, but the ending was really good. I liked that. But overall it’s kinda boring.
8. Halloween 2007 - agree with pretty much everything you said about this movie.
9. Halloween 2009 - just not a fan
10. Halloween 6 - there’s just a couple things that are ok with this movie but overall don’t like it at all
11. Halloween resurrection - 👎
12. Halloween 5 - disrespectful in every way
Nice!, we have the same exact top 5
My Updated Ranking:
13) Halloween 2 RZ
12) Halloween 6 (Prefer the Director's cut, if I counted that it would be ranked way higher)
11) Halloween Resurrection
10) Halloween 5 (Major flaws found here, but Laurie's death in the previous is what really got me to rank this one slightly over resurrection, in the aforementioned I find more entertainment.. but not a good way to let the character go)
9) Halloween 4
8) Halloween (2007)
7) Halloween Kills
6) Halloween 3: Season of the Witch
5) Halloween H20
4) Halloween 2 (1981)
3) Halloween Ends (It guaranteed the one thing I expected the most, a definitive end. Great performances all around, and I liked the call backs to previous installments. I understand both sides of the divided fan base, for me it needed more content and alternate executions when it came down to the final moments but that's a small issue for me)
2) Halloween (1978)
1) Halloween (2018)
2018🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cody - I love that you stay critical while loving the Halloween franchise! It makes me very happy to hear your thoughts. It's okay to want better from a franchise you enjoy! It's okay to want good stories & decent dialogue from a slasher! Michael Myers rules! But some of these movies are just bad. Halloween Ends made no sense to me. Did they forget they were concluding a trilogy?? Also: how did a random teen beat up Michael & control him when he was just so super strong in Kills and wiped out the fire department and most of the town?? I love this damn franchise, but, come on!!! Here is my top five Halloween movies: 1) Halloween 1978 (will never be beat, right director, right time, right moment. Plus I love the DIY vibes. No money for a soundtrack? No problem! They just made the music themselves! No money for a mask? No problem....we'll paint a cheap Shatner mask! Absolute best! 2) Halloween 4: Return of Michael Myers (Myers is so strong here!!!! Amazing. And, such a fun character in Jamie Lloyd) 3) Halloween 2018 (I like this one more than you, that one-shot scene is so great, I can watch it over and over again. Plus James Jude Courtney is an awesome Myers!!! Definitely up there as second, or very close tie for first with Nick Castle as my favorite Myers! 4) Halloween 2 2009 rob zombie (I am on an island, with you here.) 5) Halloween 3 Season of the Witch (still scares me! I was a kid and thought I was going to get killed as a kid when that song came on!) Sorry this is so long, I appreciate your channel. Congratulations on all of your growth -- you deserve it!!!
GREAT LIST… same feelings on Ends ughhh
All I'll say is our #13 & #1 are the same anddddd I too appreciate Zombie's H2 more than most fans 🤫 lol but everything else is in a different order but my ranking video will be out on Halloween...Another great entertaining video as always & thanks again for inspiring me to step out & starting my own channel, you positively impact more ppl than you realize with what you do,keep up the fantastic work.
Glad to see H4 that high on the list
I loved Ends. I really liked the character of Corey, and to me, people complain how “pointless” he was or how he took up the movie, to me he was compelling and he also is a representation or a “show” of how evil can affect *anybody* and that there can be a “Michael Myers” anywhere. Evil is an all powerful force. That was the *perfect* way to leave it closed with Myer’s death, *and* leave it open with the example of Corey’s transformation. (Imo)
Exactly. They even mentioned this in the film. If the 2018 film was about a family ripped apart by evil, and kills was about a community ripped apart by evil, then ends is about how an individual, a soul, is ripped apart by evil. If Corey is the internal evil, Michael is the external evil. And Laurie and her arc is showing the positive response to evil. We need to find reconciliation, catharsis. Corey is destroyed by his inability to move on from trauma. Laurie is able to conquer her demons, both internal, and then when she defeat Michael, her external ones. It brings her and her saga full circle and I thought it was a very good ending.
if it was the first or second movie in the franchise, sure. but to end the movie with it just fell short in a lot of places. hell corey's story from pariah to sadistic killer could have been its own trilogy
I would have less of a problem, yet still a problem with the way Ends went, if Corey was introduced at some point earlier in this trilogy. His story is rushed and doesn't have a satisfactory conclusion. Plus, he's not a likable character in the first place. I legit was hoping that the band mate bullies, wtf is up with band bullies btw, would kill him instead of just throwing him off the bridge.

But that’s all that’s wrong with it, really, is that it happens be a Part III (which lets down the climax of both the movie and the trilogy, unfortunately). As a stand-alone movie, it’s honestly much more interesting, engaging, and rewatchable than most Halloween sequels. I’d put it on before pretty much anything post-Halloween 4.
Except corey is dead
"...he should've kept looking..."
That was a good 'un. 🤣🤣
Great ranking.
Mine changes all the time. Lol
Youre just less than 2k from 100k. I'm so excited for you.
