Cody you must've had a hard time watching some trash movies huh, well just pretend all those slow deaths and painful movies don't exist
You should watch the comanche version of Prey, where the characters speak in their native tongue with English subtitles. I found I enjoyed it a whole lot more. You should find it in the extras.
i accidentally skipped forward into the video and the first thing cody said was "anne heche's asshole." definitely wasn't expecting that. 😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Cody leach can you please put the horror sixtquels list and stop hiding it show it to everyone
The Texas Chainsaw Remake scared the crap out of me in theaters, and you're right. The gore wasn't over the top, but I do remember the sound effects being REALLY impactful. The hook scene just makes you cringe.
Prometheus is the only movie I've ever fallen asleep in the theater watching lol
I remember watching Wrong Turn 5 and having a moment where I thought I was losing my love of horror because I was saddened as I watched it. Hearing you say it was mean spirited means it wasn't just me. (And obviously I wasn't losing my taste for horror, haha). I only truly acknowledge the first and the 2021 version.
Wrong turn 2021 is absolutely terrible
I saw it in theaters. One of the best remakes IMO. Along with Dead Rising and F13 (2009) underrated movie IMO. The other TCM after the remake are pretty trash. Idk what tf they were thinking while making those movies
Fun fact: Andrew Jacobs, the main actor from PA: Marked Ones is my blood related first cousin. My mom was a foster kid, though, so she never knew her blood family until later in life. Never ever met the dude or talked to him. My mom has rekindled her blood ties throughout the past 10-15 years and has met him a few times when she goes out to LA though.
Cody Leach you are doing a hell of a job. On these videos. You work so hard on these videos.
Agreed!!
Probably not a popular opinion but Friday the 13th Part 5 a new beginning is one of my favorite of the series. It's just so wacky and over the top I love it.
Imo every movie has something different going for it, which makes it such a divisive movie list
@@oskarfranzen4312 true.
I don't hate part V... Everything after New Blood is tough... Mainly. Mainly 8-10. Not good.
@@Plainview-tu7xn I personally like 8 through 10 but I would definitely say that they fall more into a guilty pleasure category.
I haven't seen part 5, but I remember watching a clip of that scene where a guy gets literally axed over a candy bar.
LETS GO!!! Chainsaw getting the love it deserves!!!
I’ll never understand why people hate the TCM remake. I fucking love it! Also holds a special place in my heart since my dad took me to see it a year before he passed.
I adore the remake sure it has its issues but it had a very gritty and darker vibe that I liked a lot and Leatherface scared me in this one the most than the other movies
I dig it for what it is! A well made slasher. I actually the prequel better because it brought back the cannibalism. Nothing in my eyes will match the freaky vibe of the original though.
Same here..it's actually one of my favorite horror films period...I love that film...I always found it to be perfectly executed...for years I thought I was in the minority but recently I see more and more people giving it the respect it deserves
03 and 06 are the only TCM's I need.
Personally, I just found it really boring, and a film that just feels like a generic slasher film than a remake of a top 5 horror film of all time.
I liked the part where Cody was talking about final destination 5 and clips from the omen remake we’re shown that’s pretty funny to me
Texas Chainsaw 03 RULES. It’s a staple for me
Same here. One of my favorites.
I personally enjoy Halloween 5. Not in my top three by any means, but it has an atmosphere.
👁👄👁
Yes! I don't know what is, but Halloween 5 feels more like Fall/Halloween than many of the other movies. It just has a weird atmosphere that makes it feel like a cozy, atumn movie for me even though I realize how many issues the movie has
Yeah, it's not that bad, definitely better than Resurrection
@@Alex-fx5es You’re snortin crack. H5 was much worse than Resurrection
@@Tony_Pesta Had those day scenes and Michael being more of a voyeur type.
I feel like I'm the only one that actually really loves Erin (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003) as a final girl. I think she is way better than any other final girl that the horror genre has seen. I do get she makes some dumb decisions, but I think overall she's a really strong character who just gets wrapped up in the heat of the moment
Exactly...she wasn't just there to scream throughout...she literally found her strength by the end of the film and ended it in a badass way
Honestly Friday the 13th part 5 is the most underrated in the series. It's called a new beginning what did you all expect? The only reason Jason was brought back as a zombie, was because of the backlash of "this movie sucks because Jason isn't in it" Just like Halloween 3 and Michael Myers (Halloween 3 was fantastic). But because the fans bitched and moaned, Jason returned. I think Friday the 13th would have been interesting if Tommy Jarvis was the new killer. But 🤷
Friday the 13 5 sucked with jason or not ..and the backlash was the best thing that happened cause after that a great sequel came : jason lives .jason lives was amazing
UA-cam film reviewer pizowell loves "Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning." He's a big fan of it as it's one of his favorite slashers.
Good God, your videos are so good and your commentary is spot on. You are so energetic and fun that even though I haven't watched some of the movies you talked about, I can still hear you talk about them and not feel bored. Great job as usual, Cody!
Can't wait for 7. I have to see where New Nightmare lands on your list. It's by far one of my favorites
Also hope doesn't get kills two hours, it deserves bloody good time
Honestly I’ve come to really enjoy Friday the 13th part 5. Seriously underrated IMO
It's kinda charming with how B Movie it id
It was fun.
I'll say this about paranormal activity 5...better than 4, 6, and better at being a reboot than 7. In my opinion.
Halloween 5 and Elm street 5...not as painful as they're 6th (in Halloween's case 6th and 8th, I actually like Rob Zombie's Halloween 2) entries.
Appreciate your hard work on these. Don't see anything like this anywhere else on the tube. Cody rocks
Been on a horror binge lately, going back and watching a lot of the classics i've never seen before, and it's awesome to have this as a sort of companion for that while i'm away from home and need something to listen to. Keeps me in the horror mood, love it!
Just watched Prey on a plane ride the other day, then watched part 5 of Friday the 13th last night, so this couldn't have been better timed
Oh I can’t want for Halloween 5s place on this
Underrated gem
The thing I like about Leprechaun in the hood is that unlike the other films most of the time, this one actually gives us a reason to care about the main protagonists
I can’t wait for Cody Leach to do horror 6th ties because he has to talk about Freddy’s Dead The Final Nightmare again LOL.
Absolutely loving these videos, I would also love to see a remake tier list in the future!
Interesting thing when it comes to the fivequel and sixquels they tend to either drop the ball or have a revitalising hit or an attempt at that. I always have a soft spot for Nightmare on Elm Street 5 tho it is quite an underrated film it has the best nightmare sequences and visuals and arguably soundtrack in the series.
Cody, man, I love your vids bro. I’ve been on a binge with your content for like a month now & I can’t get enough.
I run a show on a local radio station & you seem like such a cool dude I talked about your content on it a little bit
You rock!
Don't forget to include the poltergeist remake when you're about to do your remake tier ranking!
I usually skip Halloween 5. Didn't really care for that one at all. I love the Texas chainsaw remake more than the original 🤷🏾♀️
Bro I just found you like two weeks ago... But I have consumed so much of your content. You're a real talent brother. Love hearing your takes. Wish you all the success in the world sir!
I'm so proud of how far you're channel has come.
Great list.
I like how Saw 5 fills the gap regarding some events from the past, I commend the writers for trying after they introduced another killer in 4.
You're knocking them out the park with these videos.Think I've said it before but this is a brilliant idea, surprised no one has thought of this before but that's why you're the man & a notch above the rest.
No one’s thought of this before?
…ok then.
I see this done a lot with metal albums tbh.
In NOES5, the ending shot with the nun trying to hold in Freddy while the camera zooms out through a bunch of exploding doors is awesome! Way too cool for the movie it's in.
So we’ve got Halloween 5, Seed of Chucky, and NOES 5. (Cracks knuckles) This is gonna be fun.
Great video as always dude. Love ya bro
Thanks buddy. 🤜🤛
Great video Cody, I'm really enjoying this ranking style of video. Would love to see you rank other things in the same way...maybe final girls, first kills, or horror sub-genres (comparing slashers to body horror to creature features etc.)
I love this series so much. Cody’s passion is what keeps me coming back 🤙
TCM remake deserves all the praise. Never understood the snob hate it garnered. Same with the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot, unfairly underrated .
I’d love to see more of these kinds of videos!! They’re great!😁
Can you please do a another tierlist ranking video with horror sixquels? And can you do a Halloween movies tierlist?
When Halloween ends comes out, he would do that tierlist
Sup there Cody! I’m loving these list!
This is such a great and creative idea. Love looking foward to these. Rock on my friend 🤘
Wow, was pleasantly surprised to see you talk about Prey.. I watched it on a whim when I saw it on a streaming service and thought it was awesome. I didn't hear anything about it beforehand which I thought was weird considering how good it is.
I also wanted to say I agree with everything you said about NOES 5. it's really just unwatchable for me after the first 15 minuets or so. However I gotta say, I kinda fuck with Halloween 5. sure it's a huge step down from what we got in 4(possibly my 2nd or 3rd favorite) but I loved the scythe kill, and how just wildly over the top Loomis is. I feel like anybody at that point would be like that after chasing Michael around for 4 flicks. all the same it is in the top 3 weakest Halloween films but I don't think it's as bad as NOES 5.
Shout out texas chainsaw remake! So underrated. Along with the 2009 Fri 13th
Cody, I love to see all the praise you’re getting. You spoke to my soul and took every thought out of my head when you posted your epic Dexter rant, and I’ve been watching you since. I love when we agree and still stay interested we don’t ❤️
Awesome! That's how it should be. Thanks for watching.
@@CodyLeachYT I like watching your videos on UA-cam very much Cody
I feel like for a lot of millennials TCM (2003) was the “holy sh*t!” entry into the horror genre that leaves a lot of nostalgia. Love to see the love for the film!
It was done and it was done RIGHT! The same can't be said for most of the other remakes. They keep remaking stuff that's already great (just useless cash grabs)
I was 5-7 watching Candyman, Halloween, Hell raiser and Cube. I don't think TCM is a gateway. Halloween is more of a gateway
@@moxiemaxie3543 when millennials were 5-7 years old that’s when Halloween 4/6/Curse/H20 were being released and I highly doubt (for their sake) those were the films hooking millennials in lol.
@@stephenhewitt5721 Let's HOPE H20 wasn't!!!
Definitely one of the best UA-camrs out there. I get so thrilled every time I see a new video!
“This movie can go fuq itself” took me out!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Been waiting for this!! 🙏🤙
I love your content man makes my day every time I watch it
Before i watch it, i know this will have the most slow deaths from all the previous!
Cody Leach you are the king of youtube !!! Keep up the great work ! Can wait to see your Halloween Ends review in October
When will part 6 be out ?
Thank you for the hard work . Love the Channel
Thanks for the fun watch, man. I have a package coming to you, hope to see it in your next unboxing.
Just found your channel by chance today and binged a few of your tier list videos. Great content.
With this one, can't argue with many of your placements (Saw V would be higher, but I adore the Saw series as a whole), and it's great to listen to another who appreciates remakes rather than go with the usual knee-jerk "remakes = bad" reaction so many others default to (I wrote two articles advocating for the merits of remakes a few years ago).
Listening to your comment about Prey (and taking into account this was a year ago), there is a cut of the film where the Comanche characters speak Comanche (all of the cast recorded their lines in English and then later recorded them in Comanche).
Hell yeah this ranking is kickass
Finally here, great tier list Cody!
Yes! Was hoping you'd do the 5th movies too
Halloween and Friday the 13th are long franchises
A freaking awesome vid yet again Cody! I’m totally with you on almost single movie here, specially The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake!
Been looking forward to this!
Here we go 😉😎
love this series! opening dream in NOE5 is pretty creepy - where she's in the asylum. has a great premise but is terribly executed
Halloween III and Friday The 13th V don't suck because Michael Myers and Jason are not in it, they suck because they just sucks as movies.
My favorite must watch channel!
I absolutely love your videos cause I love movies. Keep up the good work, buddy!!
the fact that you think The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 is the best of the franchise is 1 of the main reasons I followed in the beginning!
Awesome Tier Ranking Cody great job
Just hearing the name of his favourite movie of all time, while talking about his second least favourite horror sequel ever, makes me sure that his third most hated sequel is the fifth installment of that Classic franchise
One of my favourite UA-camrs by far Cody.. thanks to you I got into Breaking Bad and now its one of my favourite shows of all time.. keep it up buddy 👌👌👌
Wow part fives are really rough. Only 3 of these movies managed to get in the top 2 tiers or your list lol. That being said, these videos are a lot of fun, keep up the great work Cody
Horror classics:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
Final Destination 5
Bloody Good Time:
Prometheus
Prey
Scream 5
Seed of Chucky (guilty pleasure)
Leprechaun in the Hood
Kills 2 Hours:
Resident Evil: Retribution
Underworld: Blood Wars
Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist
The Forever Purge
Painful:
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones
Halloween 5: Revenge of Michael Myers
The Omen (2006)
Slow death:
Saw 5
Psycho (1998)
A Nightmare on Elm Street 5
Friday the 13th: A New Beginning
Never seen: Critters Attack and Wrong Turn 5
Great tier lists videos, Cody. These have been a fun time to watch so far.
Do have the theme set yet for this year's "31 on 31" ?
Halloween 5’s existence should be considered a hate crime
I 100% agree with your commentary on Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I saw this in theaters and it was very effective in its time.
I like Halloween 5 more than Nightmare 5, but Scream 5 more than both. Nightmare, while more stylized and competent than H5, suffers from wasting the cast, not enough pacing with the kills, and a whole final act that is just in LSD. Friday 5 is above H5 for me because at least you get them trying to do something different for a slasher. And more humor.
See I quite like Nightmare 5 for the reason you mentioned the LSD visuals and the gothic style are just excellent 👌 probably the most ‘nightmare’ in the series. They went all out with the visuals.
@@Nicholas_Chen_ Yes but it was too little too late. By that point we get a boring comic kill in a progressively less interesting cast. I would have traded that for more of the gothic ending and instead replaced it with a "surprise" opening kill.
After you finish all these, you should do a ranking of all the slow death movies from worst to best. That would be fun.
I liked A Nightmare On Elm Street 5 The Dream Child it was way better than A Nightmare On Elm Street 2 Freddy’s Revenge. I liked the gothic feel and cinematography of The Dream Child.
Same. The cinematography and the gothic theme is excellent. It’s underrated. Glad to see likeminded people lol
I think shot by shot only works in a movie with heavy special effects (where they update the effects). Like if they did something like the Wizard of Oz with updated special effects but shot by shot (as long as the acting is good)
the ones i’ve seen:
•Horror Classics - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
•Bloody Good Time - Final Destination 5, Prey, Scream 5
•Kills Two Hours - Saw V, Friday the 13th: Part V - A New Beginning, Prometheus
•Painful - A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Hellraiser: Inferno
•Slow Death - Seed of Chucky
Cody, you should do a tier list for horror tv shows!
Totally agree about TCM Remake!! I remember taking my goddaughter who was 13 at the time. We were terrified, u remember grown men behind us screaming! No movie since then has affected us Luke that!!
When is the next episode going to be released? Can’t wait!
Hey Cody. Great video. I don’t know if you saw but they actually have a version of prey of Hulu that is in Comanche
I would’ve put nightmare 5 in kills two hours. I like the movie but not love it cause what I like about nightmares 3-5 is they really focus on the dream aspect of this franchise cause the original’s dream sequences is pretty much regular stuff or the boiler room. I really like the dream sequences in this movie from the set pieces like the one used in the finale, I like the kills really unique , the idea of the film I thought was used good, the part where Freddy is feeding Jacob the souls of his father and Greta I think is pretty horrifying, the central theme of the movie I thought was good, Alice is my fav final girl I like Nancy but Alice is technically the best final girl in the franchise since she has more accomplishments than the others and she survived two encounters with Freddy. Also liked more elaboration on Amanda’s character since her backstory was touched on in the 3rd movie but making her the reason on how Freddy was brought back and beaten was unique. That’s just my opinion tho I’ll take this film over Freddy’s dead.
Yeah me too I’ve commented similar things to your analysis elsewhere it’s an underrated gem. Nightmares 3-5 just forms a great ‘Dream trilogy’
@@Nicholas_Chen_ oh wait were you the one chatting with me on Alanda Parkers video. I like to call nightmare 3-5 the church trilogy since religion basically beats Freddy in those movies. This movie definitely has its problems but I have a good time with it
I’ve heard that Prey has the option for Comanche with subtitles. I haven’t looked but I will definitely be watching it that way if so. I think it would really add to it. Like you said then speaking didn’t English was a little off.
Our family always gets together to watch your new videos and we love your channel. We've spent a lot of family time the past 2 years eathing popcorn, watching your videos. We are all confused though.. we all are wondering how a guy as intelligent as you are could like the Chucky franchise like you do. lol ...
Now that the series is finished, it's time to average up all these horror movie franchises to see what's the best one.
4: Blade, Child's Play (4 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 1), Evil Dead
3.8: Halloween (5 + 4 + 5 + 4 + 1), Scream (4 + 4 + 3 + 4 + 4)

2.4: Leprechaun (3 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 3)
2.3: Jaws
2.2: Critters (3 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 2), Wrong Turn (3 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 1)
2: The Blair Witch Project
Cody your a legend. Your the one UA-camr I'd love to go out for a few beers with
@16:43 I gotta say as a person who holds this movie to the highest degree(could be argued that it's the movie that got me into horror) I think it's a travesty we didn't get more movies from the director. he absolutely slayed making this and the Friday 13th remake. both hands down better than the originals
I’d hardly say the TCM remake is hands down better than the original. I can understand why a lot of people prefer it, but the original definitely has some merit and can be argued to be better than the remake. I’m not a super hardcore Texas Chainsaw fan but I think both are good and could easily be preferred over the other. It feels kinda disingenuous to say the remake is hands down better.
@@daehkcid9996 personally I can't stand 70s horror 8/10 of the time. it's always slow and like I get why people like it. it's just not for me. even tho the original TCM is like 79 minuets long it somehow always puts me to sleep. I like and prefer the high octane, pulse pumping action in the remake, the characters are actual characters unlike everyone other than Sally and Franklin in the original. and idk I just feel like there's never been a competition between the 2 on which film is better.
Keep up the good work
I would love to see an American pie series review especially for your opinions on the straight to dvd films
Hey Cody I saw a teaser trailer for scream 6 but it looked really good man, ghost face is in nyc and terrorizing citizens and just overall a great concept I hope we get a fallow up to scream 5 like that
idk if you heard or not but Anne Heche recently got into a severe car crash and is on a ventilation machine and has severe burns. I seen you talk about the Psycho Remake and she was also in IKWYDLS so I figured you'd be interested in knowing that
I think the original TCM and the remake are both horror classics because they both have flaws and positives
I'm quite a big fan of hellraiser inferno however it was the first hellraiser I saw and nostalgia plays a hand as well as I was quite young and really getting into horror watching it again recently I don't like it as much as I used to but man that ending sticks the landing imo i always thought it was so eery to think about.
I fucking hate Halloween 5
@Miles Brown I do too, Halloween 5 is one of my least favorite films of all time, it is a Abomination as a fan of part 4.
"Halloween 5" is so stupid.
Keep up the good work Cody hooked on your vids. From the uk 🇬🇧
You're killing it in this episode!!!!😂😂😂😂
I can’t wait for part 6. Surely, Mr. Leach will give a glowing review of Freddy’s Dead. Kills two hours, maybe a bloody good time?
My Horror Five-quel Tier List Ranking:
Horror Classic:
Bloody Good Time: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Prey (2022), Evil Dead Rise (2023).
Kills Two Hours: Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Scream 5, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, Prometheus, Leprechaun: In the Hood.
Painful: Psycho (1998), The Forever Purge, Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist, Critters: Attack, Hellraiser: Inferno, Resident Evil: Retribution, The Omen (2006), Final Destination 5, Saw 5, Underworld: Blood Wars.
Slow Death: Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child, Halloween 5: Revenge of Michael Myers, Phantasm: Ravager, Seed of Chucky, Wrong Turn 5.
Sorry, Cody. Even though I do like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake too, I don't personally find it a horror classic when it's followed by the painful prequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. Also, while I haven't seen Scream 5 yet, and the Ranking might change, I've personally found all the sequels after Scream 2 in the kills two hours category.
